That's not what the 1st Amendment says. It effectively says that the government cannot hinder your speech (slander, libel, and yelling fire in a crowded theater notwithstanding of course). It says nothing about the activities of the news or other corporations. He has the right to free speech w/o gov't interference, and that's all he's guaranteed.

A business holds the right to fire you, if they see your actions costing them money, this is what capitalism entails, if you don't like it, you are against Capitalism. IF the first amendment did apply to companies, then the courts and or the Constitution would mention it, but it doesn't.
