my mum is monegasque so my family goes to monaco a lot to see all our family there. we are australian so the plane trip is really long, but as a person who knows monaco quite well i can say that its stereotypes are real. super cars, million dollar yatchs, mansions and millionaires. the only bad thing is that the beaches are terrible. no sand just pebbles, no waves, you have to pay to go to the beach and the few public beaches there are super crowded, then again im spoilt by aussie beaches. =)

...But there ARE some restrictions. 35 MPH speed limit...EVERYWHERE...Hard to drive a Ferrari at that speed... Where can you throw a baseball?... Oh well, there's always the countryside... Price for one bedroom apt?...unfurnished?....3 million, 600 K. Lord only knows what those Big houses sell for!... Still...It IS Monaco. No other place like it... One of the two safest places on the planet.

Expensive cars, night lights, breasts, cars, F1, luxury yachts. Thats how it goes throughout that entire region. From Cannes to Nice to Monaco, Monte Carlo. There is a stretch of land there along that coast stretching from Barcelona in Spain all the way into Italy with so much luxury and overwhelming beauty that it would make even the wealthiest on the american continent blush with embarrassment.

@tecaistes According to the constitution the only official language in Monaco it's French, but you have lot of rich immigrant there, and the most people can understand or speak English, you can live in this city-country without speak French. it's not the same thing if you live in Paris, Nice or Cannes, I went many times in France and it's really hard t to find people who can speak English...

Middle-class people can enjoy Monaco. I stayed in a beachfront hotel on Juan Le pin (10 minutes by train from Monaco). It was not expensive. The whole Riviera is beautiful and safe and the people are very friendly.

I've been to Monaco, twice. I live in Los Angeles. I think you can compare Monaco to Dubai. Las Vegas is dog shit compared to Monaco and Dubai. I remember people in Ferrari's driving in circles around the city, we would hear them drive by every 5 minutes. I wish I was older the last time I went, I was always pretty young.

I fulfilled a life time ambition visiting and driving thru Monaco on the Corniche roads. I was disappointed! The drive is similar to US1 into San Diego, but most of US1/PCH is prettier. Other than the great cars and women/escorts all around the over built apartment buildings, it is just too congested to have any romance left.

I've been to Monaco before, I was real young so I remember it vaguely. I definitely remember it being beuatiful, but you can tell the people there are quite affluent. meh, Once you get passed all the yachts and fast cars, it's quite a boring place.

I really dislike going there. Only decent thing is there is a bar called Stars n Bars and it's a pretty decent place to go to on a night out.

Everywhere else you're paying £60+ for a beer.

It's fucking crazy.

Nice is better for a night out. especially the old town, so many good bars. If you can find the Tapas bar and Le Kings in the old town, you're in for a good night.
