She's not a particularly amazing player, she's just extremely smart, and knows her player to the point where she makes it easier for her to win by playing against their style. If anything, she's proving what proper homework can reap. Congrats to her.

I think he means she didnèt play enough to get ranked before the us open. AFter playing the us open she has now played enough tournaments (3) to have a ranking (19)
serena williams was reallly good..and i was actually doubting if clijster will be able to surpass serena..well it could have been a good fight hadn't the umpire called serena a foot at fault..but i like clijster as well..she deserved to win..=D

Evonne Goolagong won a slam in 1980 as a mom. Margaret Court also won one way back when. I think there's one more, but I can't think of who it was. So, Kim is 1 of 4 to do it...really impressive and well deserved!
