  • How do people find these things? I can play this game every day for the rest of my life and never find this.

  • @ariwl1 Haha same, I guess some ppl just sit and play it and get bored and try different things. Or they just find them by random chance.

  • @ariwl1 haha...no shit man..!

  • That you actually got the economizer drop while recording this glitch really infuriates me.

    Lucky bastard...

  • @KyvannShrike Thought the exact same thing here...

  • o_O This bug is awesome!

  • They never drop Economizers for me.

  • Hmm, it's actually not that weird to find this glitch, honestly. If you gear up cyan to be an imp killing machine, then you use retort cause it rocks, then turn him into an imp so his first hit will own the enemy, then he dies on accident, revive then psycho. Definitely an interesting glitch when you get it on accident. The hard party was recreating it. Thank you youtube for savin me time.

  • ''dismantles''...i'd say: ''Feast on the branchiosaur's soul''

  • oh come on is the PS version really that bad? So far I have had a blast with it. :)

  • @Forteoverload I don't think he necessarily means that it's bad but more or less that it has it's faults.

  • I don't know if someone mentioned it.... but the glitch still works in the GBA version though I think you must kill Cyan BEFORE casting Imp

  • omg i never knew this lol.. as if the genji glove paired with the offering wasn't enough.

  • LOLWAT!!! I'll try that one day!!

  • Best part: it actually dropped the Economizer.

  • If you know a little something about how computer code and game design works you can actually know quite well where to look to find glitches. I imagine it was mostly such people who found this particular glitch.

  • wtf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cyans sword techs were the biggest wastes of time in this game lol

  • @Cressx They were good at the beginning of the game when you first picked Cyan up, but as soon as you get good magic, they become obsolete.

  • If i hadn't witnessed it, i wouldn't have believed it!

  • I remember first testing this glitch out when I learned about it. However, I accidentally had Cyan equipped with an elemental weapon, and the enemies absorbed that element...

So basically, Cyan was trapping attacking his enemies that he couldn't kill forever, and simultaneously stopping anyone else from moving. Needless to say, I had to reset the game in order to continue.

  • @Sanababeech - wasn't that the cursed shield or some other cursed item that turns into the paladin shield? Its been a while but i thought that is what the paladin shield comes from.

  • @JustSum13lse Yes, the Cursed Shield is what turns into the Paladin Shield.

Also, all the SNES glitches still work in the Anthology version of FF6.

  • So this works for anything? I heard it still works for GBA So I am going to use it on kaisher dragon.

  • @Sagemaster00 it does, but isn't triggered this way, IIRC.

  • Retitle this video "Cyan goes to town on a muthafuckin dinosaur!!!!"

  • woooaaaahh...

  • Cyan: Wait, I'm alive? HAHA, SWEET LIFE! DIE MOTEHRFUCKERS!

  • @darthteej1 Lmao!

  • Wow!This game really is as great as they say....You guys recommend to download or buy ?

  • @MrHellyboy I admit I downloaded, but once I beat it I felt bad for downloading such a great game and bought it.

  • @MrHellyboy - I would buy this game. FF4/FF2, FF6/FF3, FF9, FF12 are my favorite, but i own pretty much every FF game that has ever came out, especially since they started remaking them all for the GBA/DS or the PSP.

  • Heh, I made a custom boss just to mess with exploiters of this bug. I altered a doom dragon, changed it's pallet, and made him counter every attack that hits him. If you use this bug, or the quick spell in an offensive manner-- Annihilated.

  • A new use for imp status

  • I bet Cyan read about this in "Bushido in the Bedroom" a.k.a. the "Book of Secrets".

  • i love ffvi and its bugs

  • Nice economizer!! :D

  • I have every FF game but 3. This version is 6 to me....so whats 3?

  • It was an NES game, and the FF game that really developed the series' job system. You can download a ROM and translation patch on the internet, and there was a DS remake, too, if you're interested.

  • onion knight.....

  • Cyan makes every swordsman in the Final Fantasy-verse cry in shame.

  • The Original Omni-Slash, LOL.

  • what abbout on the psone

  • the craziest accident ever. lol i wonder what the very first discoverer of this did when this happened.

  • Cyan, the original, yet quite unconventional, master of the Omni-Slash technique.

Only glitch I happened upon in my SNES playthrough years back was the Relm Sketch bug. Freaked out because I thought the game corrupted, came back to a completely messed up/missing inventory yet the 99 Economizers made up for it lol.

  • Lol, finally cyan is worth something! :P

  • how about for the PS version... you know... the one no one EVER talks about... anthology?!

  • You mean the bad version? >_>

  • @LucidFaia Why is the PS version considered the "bad version"? I thought it was identical to the SNES version.

  • @malwambi

The sound is messed up and there are bad loading times for the simplest of things, such as opening the menu or entering a battle.

  • @LucidFaia Yeah, those loading times did make it less fun.

  • @LucidFaia oooh wow...such impatient gamers these days. The sound is better on the PS than it is on the GBA because its stereo and the music is left untouched. The loading times are a bit long but whatever. Lag during battle? thats fine, easier to rig Setzer's slot

  • @LucidFaia And IMO, the renders look like shit in the Anthology Release. >.> I prefer the 16-bit version on the SNES any day, even though the GBA release fixed some of the bugs.

  • @LucidFaia I am currenty playing It on my PSP and It have bad loading time only at saving, opening menu, and fleeing.Everything else is OK.

  • @LucidFaia

PS1 version was my fave because I could play it on the consoles I owned, I never had a SNES growing up. The sound was messed up? I never had a problem with it since the music on the GBA is TERRIBLE! I will agree with you on the load times, they were a bit bad.

  • @MindstormXL buy a snes, they are like 50$, if you played the PS1 version you had messed up sounds. It was the worst port of a game I have seen.

  • @Fyntax10

Sorry but the sounds were fine for me, didn't differ from the SNES at all (Apart from battle transitions) then again we had just FF6 on the CD in the UK.

  • hahaha i accidently did this on the second fight with the axe dragon and got stuck. Cyan couldnt stop powning and my game was stuck like that cause ice dragon

  • sorry but it works for the advanced version of the game i used it at omega weapon hahahahha

  • I do think I've read it no longer works on regular enemies, but it does on bosses... Or something like that. I could be wrong, so if I am, has the trick changed any in order to work?

  • And that ladies and gents how the dinosaurs die out :P

  • Does it work in the PSOne version.

  • POOR BRACHOSAUR

  • wow, awesome glitch video mate!

  • kinda cool, but too much work to kill the motherfucker

    just cast invisible then doom

  • DAMN!!!! hahahaha fucking OWNED!!! that's hilarious

  • How was this glitch discovered?

    It's not very straight forward.

I mean, it's good, but just - kinda weird.

I never would've thought of it.

  • It's kind of interesting someone could figure this stuff out

  • it was discovered years ago when the snes version came out

  • @LittleKupo Probably against an enemy that casts imp

  • @LittleKupo probably someone's Cyan got turned into an imp and got insta-killed but when revived he was pissed from being so ridiculed that he killed the enemy like that

  • @LittleKupo It's called, "Let's get drunk and try everything that comes to mind!"

  • @LittleKupo The same hackers who figured out how to hex edit save files probably were responsible for it. It has a lot to do with memory offsets and how they get screwed up by some status effects. The "Rippler Exchanges Everything Glitch" is a prime example of this.

  • @LittleKupo It's somewhat straight-forward if you're used to the ROMs inherent logic.

  • @LittleKupo Most likely discovered on accident, then told to someone else who played around with it to figure out how it worked. This is usually how glitches are found in speedrunning, at least, and I'm sure it's not much different here.

"Dude, I was playing FF6 and Cyan just freaked out and slaughtered everything... and he was an imp, to boot!"

"Imp -> Psycho you say? tell me more~"

    And the rest is history...

  • Every time I fight with those Brachosaurus sometimes I miss the hits like it happened to him lol why?

  • maybe because they have high evasion????????? XD

  • of course its becuase of the high evasion, but its a freakin dinosaur!!!! how fast can something THAT big dodge, dip, duck, dive, or... dodge!

  • XD well, that's why he is the thoughest random encounter in the game ^_^

  • @splldrong HaHa The 5 D's! Patches O'Houlihan mustv'e trained these dinosaurs.

  • i have never seen that before...i like it lol. but its just easier to give lock a gengy glove , offering, valiant knife, and atma weapon.

also i see lots of people saying they have trouble getting the economizer,,,just steal them from aquillas its easier :P

  • lmao

  • wtf!!!!!! niceeeeee !!!!!! this trick seems so usefull!!

  • Economizer+Gem Box= Good times.

  • Economizer+Gem Box+Quick Spell=Even Better Times

  • There's no bad guy in video game history I hated more than than son of a bitch Brachosaur

  • yh i remember i was training he appears im like seems easy the bang ultima im died... o_0

  • That's awesome. Now I'll have to try it. Can this be done as soon as you get Retort?

  • Comment removed

  • retort, imp, and the ability to ohko cyan.

  • FF6 seemed to have a few ways of killing enemies really easy lol like casting vanish, then doom killed nearly every boss (i say nearly because a few bosses were immune to vanish)

  • In the wierd version im playing his name is Cayene ;< lots of odd names. Lock, Cefca, Tina(Terra ...) the old man from the returner, his name is Baron, right? but in the version im playing, his name is Banan. don't know what Sabins name was in this version but it wasn't Sabin. Translation ain't bad tho. just wierd names ^^

  • The leader of the Returners was named "Banon" in the original US release.

  • Thats right thx. but I have still no idea what kind of version I have. spells got wierd names as well. Fire, Fira. Blizzard, Blizzarra, Thunder, Thundera. ^_^ Remedy - Medecine lol. well whatever.

  • I'm guessing it's a SNES rom. That would mean that you have a fan translation of the original Japanese FF6; it's more "straight-forward" (i.e. literally exact) than the official one which changed some things to make it more accessible to westerners

  • @LajjTheMan:

You are playing FF6 the Japanese version with the translation patch. Best translation in my opinion

  • Yeah well its not bad, not at all..it's just that I've played through this game twice now. First time through the US version, so I guess I just find the Japanese version a bit...weird :P First FF game I tried was FF7, and since I live in sweden I guess we got the US version of that as well. maybe thats why the Japanese translation makes it so weird youknow..I guess im used with the US translations ^_^ well thx fellas

  • The Sky-whats-his-face retranslation is too literal for my tastes. I don't want all of the names to change in a game I played 15 years ago. Even worse than that, he removed all of the goofy Ted Woolsey-isms like "Son of a Submariner!" :)

  • wajajaja INSANE!

  • CYAN:

    "Heigh! Ho! Heigh! Ho!

Dammit, die now, so I can stop swinging this stupid sword, I pwnzorz you anyway."

  • Anyone know if it's in the FFAnthology version of VI?

  • I'm almost 100% positive it is.

  • This would be funnier if you do this with Kefka, but the final battle...

  • Just so you know, it is in the GBA version

  • ya but u activate it different: kill Cyan, revive Cyan, have him use Sky, then cast Imp on him:)

  • How is that lame? Its a pretty cool glitch I thought.

  • Yeah, maybe I can fainally end that game!!!!

  • you can do this by just getting retort on him, killing him, reviving him, retorting him again than imping him.

  • Will pycho Cyan be interrupted by counters?

  • I don't think he can be countered, the endless Psycho attack goes on until everything is defeated.

  • Cyan rocks!

  • Er..That's Psycho Cyan in the very flesh. Unless you have a different idea of what it is....?

  • I mean, *what I'm thinking of is not quite Psycho Cyan*. Sorry, I was trying to make it short, so I wasn't very clear.

Yeah, this video here's definitely the real Psycho Cyan.

  • Beat final kefka with it

  • This trick produces amusing results when used against Kefka in the final battle of the game. Instead of him dying like he normally does--where he sinks to the bottom of the screen and slowly disintegrates--when the Psycho Cyan glitch is employed, he simply dies like any other enemy. It's very anticlimactic.

  • I laughed when that one attack missed. I will try this soon. I will try it on Leviathan, since it 2 shots me with 2 tsunamis.

  • I laughed too!

  • There's a video - in fact, it's the top one in the Related section - showing that it's still there in the Advance version.

  • I usually put a Genji Glove and Offering on Cyan and he pretty much takes care of everyone for me. Casting Quick on him delivers even more blows. I have been trying to steal Econimizers from those Brachosaurs with no luck, well either way this is a cool trick I need to try out thanks for sharing.

  • they usually just drop them.

  • If you want to see Cyan get REAL NASTY just give him the quick spell.lol. He gets REAL nasty! He can take out nearly every boss character by himself.lol.

  • i love the fact that you're obviously on a sufficiently high level to defeat the brach(i)osaur outright (since you don't get destroyed instantly upon the start of the battle) yet you don't

  • I prefer The Vanish/Doom combination to take out tough enemies. It kills like 90% of all the enemiers in the game.

  • here here.

  • I use the Vanish/Doom on most enemies and bosses and Life on the undead or toss a Phoenix Down that works too.

  • psh, I like sabin better, but Cyan's cool too

    ...

Got an economizer here, lucky bum

  • Soldier: someone kill that- ARRGH!

    Cyan: The Imperials shall die!!!

I want to try fighting a very tough enemy with Cyan not equipped with ANYTHING except the glitch. No relics, no weapons, no armor- just his 16-bit fists and an Apocrypha. If I hadn't watched this, I would have considered my Death spell worthless (because of high MP cost and Undead are immune to it).

  • Ayaw Magpatalo Ba...

  • Damn, Cyan already rules, this renders him a god!

  • OMG THIS INCREDIBLE

  • NICE FIND! Brachosaurs are tough!

  • It works even in GBA version !!!!!!

  • Man, why all the hate. he is my fave character!

  • Watch out everyone! Cyan's gone wild...and in the form of an IMP! D: nice video...never knew of this glitch before...

  • (The Spell Retort)

  • Retort is one of cyan's swordtechs, get it at a certain level (around 15 maybe? don't remember).

  • i got it as soon as i got him

  • Whered you get the spell from?

  • that's tight!!

  • Cyan is my favorite character. It's a pity that he kind of sucks in battle, aside from this glitch. =(

  • ¿cyan ataca 12 veces? ¿Cómo? O.O

  • I love using this Glitch! The only reason that I haven't used it before is that I haven't leveled Cyan in a long time...he's still at level 16 or something. So he hits the Brachiosaur for 1pt. Damage each time he hits while under the Psycho spell. Poor Cyan.

  • finally... a reason to use cyan

  • lol nice, got the economizer to boot lol

  • That's AWESOME!

  • holy shit...

  • holy shit that's awesome im gonna go try it

    *goes to try it*

  • haha I like that ^^ I'm gonna try it right now ^^

  • Nice trick!

  • Awesome glitch!

  • Cyan was GREEN!

  • What the hell?

  • There is a new way to trigger this on the GBA.

    1. Kill Cyan

    2. Revive him

    3. Make him use sky

    4. Cast Imp on him

    5. Enjoy

  • WOW 14 times .. i played it last year again and i finished it with a cheat this time :)..

  • Jajajaja nice bug, and for an extra, you got an economizer, NICE!

  • You're lucky the Brachosaur didn't get a chance to use Ultima!

Brachosaur (minus special secrets) is probably the hardest random enemy in the game. As far as I'm aware, the only 2 monsters that use Ultima are the Magi Master and the Brachosaur, the latter being the only random monster.

  • Wow I tried it and it totally rocked kefka out the window!

  • In the gba, the order sequence is different.

  • You can tell it's not PS1 because at the very end of the battle the screen immediately goes black, rather than the PS1's gradual fade-out to make up for the damn load time.

The WORST PS1 load times in this game are the Coliseum.

  • Haha Duh its the SNES version the PS1 version goes way slower.

  • its snes for sure.

  • No, this is the SNES version. The PS1 version is much worse, and much slower.

  • I'm almost positive this is the PS1 version because of the apparent slowdown and such.

I was looking at a battle mechanics guide when it made reference to "Psycho Cyan" I look and bam... here it is. Very interesting.

  • WHAT!?! i've never known this trick. very cool.

  • Whoa, that was cool. Cyan actually snapped. Saves a lot of time and effort.

  • it works in all version including ps1 but unknown in gba version

  • So the legends are true! hahaha nice.
