i have a big question... i have astro mixamp i hav y adaptor i have sennheiser pc 350 now Y IN THE FUCK IS THE Y ADAPTOR AND SENNHEISER HEADSET CORD DIFFERENT SIZES... i am rlly pissed right now someone plz answer me!
Its a shame to call these headphones gaming headset. These headphones offer one of the best musical experiance you can get from any Hi-fi piece of equipement on the market today...
I got another sennheiser headset since 2007 and ive prob dropped it on the ground over 1000 times and yet NOTHING has happened to them. i dont think these will ever break its crazy. im planning to get a pair that are abit thicker around the ears like these. great review.
While wearing them around your neck, is it possible to adjust the microphone so it is near your mouth ? you know, some times i just want the sound to come out of my speakers..
To me, it looks like the microphone doesn't go all the way down, so i was wondering :P
So they look nice and the packaging is pretty. Would have been good if you plugged them in and recorded some audio so we could hear if the quality improved over your other mic you used.
@Misyu44 to actually hear what it sounds like, you'd have to be using one as well...He already said the quality is like a subwoofer and the bass is amazing, what else did you expect?
@G19overnment90Man could you at least say why the G35 is a peice of shit i was thinking of buying the G35 and all the reviews say they are amazing so i would like to know why you think they are bad.
No-one mentions the mic quality in these reviews, why is that?
The mic in PC 350 is INFINITELY better than any Razer or Creative can throw at. It is simply superb considering this is just a headset.
In that department in a league of its own. Also the sound positioning is supposed to be top notch on these. Features that should be important for a gamer.
I completely agree Latunan. Although I don't own a pair I have read and veiwed many reviews. People have to understand these are a gamers headset ONLY! Don't expect good music and amazingly great bass compared to other similar to price. What you will get from it though is pin point sound positioning great for knowing where your enemy is and a outstanding mic for good communication.
@Hexophenia someone needs to make a set with insane sound quality and great bass and clarity so that gaming is in high quality sound and they should put the pin point sound positioning in there with them
@swicked4911 Finnish electronics magazine tested the most popular gaming headsets and they released samples recorded with each headset's microphone, and the Sennheiser microphone was significantly better than the other ones, which included Razer and Logitech among many. The samples are unfortunately available only to subscribers, but its not even an opinion, its a fact: The PC-350 had the best microphone of the bunch.
I own a pair of these for a couple of month now. I am absolutely disapointed by what Sensheiser gave me! First. The volume is so incredibly low, that I think my volume button on the wire is 'broken'. Turns out that my friends pair has the same 'issue'. The bass is just terrible. There is no bass at all. The mid/high range is ok, but far from clean. Bought a pair of Beyer Dynamics... Way better quality than this PC crap :)
I only ask because Sennheiser are like number 1 for chinese copies. If they box is a bit tatty, with rough edges or 200DPI or less printing it's normally a copy. I bought some "Sennheiser"s online a while ago and they were of horrid sound quality (although the build quality was very good). I did a little research only to find all the tells of a copy..
Rouch edges and crap print work are the main two to look for when buying headphones.
Someone answer this. WHat kind of preamp do I need to connect these to a computer. Right now I just have a Behringer 4-CH Headphone Mini Amp. Doubt that'll work with this. I think I'm get these.
The PC350's are GREAT with bass and clarity, they take about a week to be working at full performance though because they need to be kinda "Broken in" The cables are also very thick, they are EXACTLY like power cord on a TV or a Fan or something.. And the jacks are gold plated so they get great connection to the computer.
P.S. They are also GREAT at music playing despite that they are made for gaming.
I had my Sennheiser with is 3 meters of cable and with the gold plated connectors and i just loved them (201HD - 20USD) and after 2 years they would still be very good if my cat didnt eat the cable (must be delicious)
lol so what do you suggest? many people are saying they are the best headphones ever to be produced in the history of mankind, and other people are saying "omg I would never buy them for $1 even, worst headphones ever"
Just got these as well, even with the onboard sound with the P5Q mobo, they sound amazing. If bass is a little flat for you, just set it up in the equalizer and you're all set.
Plus, as a bonus, friends on Ventrilo are saying my mic is now a lot clearer and less static.
Montego DDL by Turtle Beach. 50 bucks is all it'll cost and it's probably the best you'll find on the market (and definitely best bang for buck). Turtle Beach is mostly known for its xbox headsets nowadays, but they still do make soundcards, all of which are pretty good at telling Creative to take its $150 x-fi whatevers and shove it up its ass. Its only drawback is a lack of a female RCA jack. It does have an optical one, which is just as good, and the fiber cables are cheaper than RCA anyway.
people suggesting the logitech g35 or razer megalodon. Those are USB headsets and will basically nullify any features of your high end sound card if you have an all out PC. For a fully enhanced PC you need a setup like this. I've owned every major earcan from every major manufacturer. Simulated 7.1 through USB is a joke. Even tritton cant compare with individual speakers. Read some reviews and you will understand.
I own the Trittons; they're okay. My 5.1 speaker system is obviously better, but when it's late and neighbors are calling the cops, they're better than nothing, + they take toslink and coax cables straight from your sound card. No USB junk. I'll admit, the sound quality is limited (there's a reason dedicated-audio companies like Sennheiser don't bother with these while style-over-substance companies like Tritton and Razer do), but again, for stuff like FPSs, they're better than no 5.1 at all.
i think i go for the Logitech g35 ^^ Logitech is my favourit brand ^^ got almost everything here from Logitech but its always stuff with a big price but ull get good stuff for it ^^
If you have a good quality sound card that will produce way better audio then USB ever will. If Logitech made the G35 with cables instead of USB I might get them, However the sound quality is not to great (music) on the PC 350 but in game like CS:S you can hear foot steps and gun fire with great precision.
See my comment above. I was thinking the same thing and found a few sets that take the same cables surround sound speakers do, straight from the sound card. The sound quality obviously is still not super and it's kind of a pain because you'll need to split the audio cable in the back as these are essentially a second set of speakers, but they're better than stereo for games where directionality matters.
pc 350 best for positioning, best for fps games as it gives you image where is yr enemy, also is awesome for music if you modd them, use google how to mod them for bass, drivers inside same as HD595 ! But for marketing purpose sennheiser didnt made them to sound like HD595 they made it more "flat", but this is the design issue, so after modd them you will be blown away, they should be cost even more!
Thats actualy true , Razer are most ''SHOUT OFF '' company every gamer knows '' RAZER'' but its not the name that it matters its the equipment , and sennheiser actualy has BEST SOUND cuz its DJ and ONLY Sound company
To say sennheiser is the best sound out right is a litte naive therels tons of headphone makers out there that equal and even exceed the quality of sennheiser products ie AKG, Grado, beyerdynamic
PC 350, one hundred times over. You literally can't get a better gaming headset than the PC 350 without buying an even more expensive/higher end pair of headphones and tacking on a clipon mic to make them headsets. I definitely recommend the PC 350, I'm wearing it right now and it's everything a headset should be. Comfortable, durable, and amazing mic/speaker quality. I wish I could find something wrong with them because as it stands I'm considering that they might be powered by dark magic.
You sold me on these. I just bought a BNIB pair of these on eBay for $65 shipped on Tuesday. Did I get a good deal? Will I ever regret this purchase? I'm hoping it's an upgrade from my PC150's. I enjoy these, but more comfort and sound quality would put me over the top. I'm hoping they sound as good as/better than my Grado SR-80's. Can you or anyone else compare?
Personally I notice amazing sound quality, although I've never owned a pair of Grado SR-80's. From what I can decipher, it's a Sennheiser HD 380 with an excellent quality boom microphone attached. If I use software to tweak how quiet the sounds are that it can pick up, I've made it heard things I can't hear naturally, like an open pop can in the far corner of my room. I think you're going to enjoy it, it blows all other headset/headphone combos on the market, by leagues. Also, $65 is a steal.
I'm not the most educated person on Sennheisers here, but as far as I know the 590's are no longer produced. Don't get me wrong, if you want solely a good pair of headphones, you can get things much better than the PC-350. But if you're looking for a headset (e.g. headphones with a mic), specifically a gaming headset, the PC-350 is currently the standard. It set the bar as far as audio quality, mic quality, and durability is concerned. Nothing really compares at this point in time.
What are you talking about? I'm listening to some music right now and they sound amazing. Maybe not HD-series audiophile quality, but 100 times better than normal sub-$50 headphones.
Don't do what I did and expect these to replace your headphones for your Music as well. Extremely muffled sounds above 2-3KHz and just overall lack of definition. Comparing to my SH HD595s, these things are a complete joke for audio reproduction. I only use it for gaming, and really not sure if it was worth the 129.99 I payed. Will probably replace with closed cans and a separate Mic in the future.
and if the sound is identical then they are a have a very flat and accurate response.
The HD595s will add a lot of colour to the original recording, and reproduce it inaccurately, which is pleasing for people want to hear an "improved sound" but not an accurate one.
Bought a set of these after I had issues with the new Logitech G35s (do yourself a favour and avoid the G35s like the plague ...they have a nasty design issue with high frequency noise in the right can when the mic is engaged and are as heavy as fuck !)
Sennheiser PC350s are wll worth the 250 AU bucks. They have brilliant sound reproduction. Sound Isolation is brllliant and you don't miss active noise cancellation.
Sennheiser reminds you that you get what you pay for. These rock.
My Barracuda broke a few days ago, bought the G35 also. And I'm not happy with it. it gets extremly fast warm to wear. And i don't like the "leather" on the ear cups. Going to send them back.
I have the Razer headset and they are bad, quality is good but they are flimsy and easily damaged. One of the plastic prongs that the earphones swivel on broke off in a matter of 3 months of owning my headset and I had to do a shotty patch job. I don't think I'm going to use my warranty, the Sennheiser looks quite durable. I'm tired of buying bad gear that visibly degrades in a matter of weeks of owning it. I guess I'll dish out the mulah for these... 2nd pair of $100 earphones in the last year.
this is the best headset there is (not counting audiophile ones), these pwn every single shitty logitech/creative/razer headset out there, steelseries are good too :)
Well packaging is a big sales point when buying something... I mean if u walk into a computer shop, your not gonna pick the white box with nothing on it compared to this.. At first. And a lot of peoples with money.. make impulse buys.
Actually, if you are into Mac's and Apple you will find yourself buying a lot of white boxes almost without anything on the outside :p ...I have a nice little collection growing here
I bought these headphones today and am sending them straight back. I have used many types of Sennheiser products in the past, including gaming, DJ recording studio quality headphones. The sound on this model is terrible, its tinny and nasty. The bass is ok but the very bottom end stands out WAY too much and the mid range overshadows everything else. The mic picks up too much interference too. Basically they arent bad but most definately not worth the asking price!
Fair enough, you are of course entitled to your own opinion but to confirm I am talking purely about the quality of the sound. I was extremely dis-satisfied with was the balance between the top, mid and bass range on these headphones which made everything sound odd and for music was just plain terrible. If you would be using these purely for games and nothing else then its "ok" because as you said they are good for footsteps etc.. for anything else they are bad and therefore not worth £90 +
Which one has the detachable speaker cord? I'm fucking tired of buying headphones, and the wire fucking gets lose over time, and the stereo channels go on and off acting as if it's mono, unless I move the wire like 2 mm's
I use headphones mainly for Binaural Beats, and gaming, so Stereo is a must.
I have already bought 2 Creative Fatality headsets, cuz of the god damn cord.. can't they just make it bigger and stronger? don't worry I wont laugh, everything is getting smaller, and it sucks. lol
thes sound great i have owned mine for about 4 months. only problem is after 2-3+ hours its get very uncomfortable and leave a imprent around your ears and in the middle of your head from the band
Because cheap headphones are uncomfortable and sound like crap, same with a cheap mic.
Not to mention these headphones have background noise filtering so good you could be using voice chat at a rock concert and they would only hear your voice.
fairly certain i'd get sick if i listened to music on a 3 euros headset, but if you've been listening to bad music for long enough, your ears don't develop and you'll hardly hear the difference between good and bad sound.

@zkjgrty When it comes to headset/headphones or audio overall, comparing Sennheiser to Corsair is like comparing Rolls-Royce to Volkswagen.
Although they are good at emptying the fanboys wallets by throwing out mediocre products in all the fields I'll give them that.

guys, forget Barracuda.. Razer SUCKS. That's the truth.... Sennheiser = the best sound ever. Razer = the WORST EQUIPMENTS EVER :)
NeCtRiCkS 2 years ago 3
Thats actualy true , Razer are most ''SHOUT OFF '' company every gamer knows '' RAZER'' but its not the name that it matters its the equipment , and sennheiser actualy has BEST SOUND cuz its DJ and ONLY Sound company
kurvanje 2 years ago
ah, Roland makes good headphones as well, but not as good as Sennheiser's headphones/headsets
NeCtRiCkS 2 years ago
But also remember, Razer obviously sucks in the audio division, but reign in the mouse division. Logitech keyboards pwn also
xcelpast 2 years ago 4
And...hilariously, I have a Logitech keyboard, a Razer mouse, and Sennheiser headphones. =)
DrIce926 2 years ago 3
Same for me, except that you need to add a Roccat mouspad. :P
CrzayMazy 2 years ago
To say sennheiser is the best sound out right is a litte naive therels tons of headphone makers out there that equal and even exceed the quality of sennheiser products ie AKG, Grado, beyerdynamic
tdizzle55 2 years ago
are these 5.1 or what? i might of missed it if he said it in the review..

PC 350 or steelseries siberia or what for a x-fi fatality?
f0rfait 2 years ago
PC 350, one hundred times over. You literally can't get a better gaming headset than the PC 350 without buying an even more expensive/higher end pair of headphones and tacking on a clipon mic to make them headsets. I definitely recommend the PC 350, I'm wearing it right now and it's everything a headset should be. Comfortable, durable, and amazing mic/speaker quality. I wish I could find something wrong with them because as it stands I'm considering that they might be powered by dark magic.
SnakeTheFox 2 years ago 14
You sold me on these. I just bought a BNIB pair of these on eBay for $65 shipped on Tuesday. Did I get a good deal? Will I ever regret this purchase? I'm hoping it's an upgrade from my PC150's. I enjoy these, but more comfort and sound quality would put me over the top. I'm hoping they sound as good as/better than my Grado SR-80's. Can you or anyone else compare?
DrIce926 2 years ago
Personally I notice amazing sound quality, although I've never owned a pair of Grado SR-80's. From what I can decipher, it's a Sennheiser HD 380 with an excellent quality boom microphone attached. If I use software to tweak how quiet the sounds are that it can pick up, I've made it heard things I can't hear naturally, like an open pop can in the far corner of my room. I think you're going to enjoy it, it blows all other headset/headphone combos on the market, by leagues. Also, $65 is a steal.
SnakeTheFox 2 years ago
Blows away, rather. Not just "blows". This headset has standards, you know :P
SnakeTheFox 2 years ago
Can they compare at all to the Logitech G35? Or are they just a lot better?
cyrax1311 2 years ago
They blow the G35 and Razer Megalodon out of the water.
SnakeTheFox 2 years ago 2
Im new to this headphone thing. Im currently waring a pair of HD590s, they arent mine but I like them and want to buy some myself.
So when you say they are like the HD 380s, would that mean the 590s are superior to them ?
I'm looking for gaming headphones with very rich and clear sound. Recommend anything ?
Deadman7Inc 2 years ago
I'm not the most educated person on Sennheisers here, but as far as I know the 590's are no longer produced. Don't get me wrong, if you want solely a good pair of headphones, you can get things much better than the PC-350. But if you're looking for a headset (e.g. headphones with a mic), specifically a gaming headset, the PC-350 is currently the standard. It set the bar as far as audio quality, mic quality, and durability is concerned. Nothing really compares at this point in time.

Good for gaming but don't even try to use them for music !
ToxeCryz 2 years ago
What are you talking about? I'm listening to some music right now and they sound amazing. Maybe not HD-series audiophile quality, but 100 times better than normal sub-$50 headphones.
SnakeTheFox 2 years ago
Don't do what I did and expect these to replace your headphones for your Music as well. Extremely muffled sounds above 2-3KHz and just overall lack of definition. Comparing to my SH HD595s, these things are a complete joke for audio reproduction. I only use it for gaming, and really not sure if it was worth the 129.99 I payed. Will probably replace with closed cans and a separate Mic in the future.
DHGroove 2 years ago
I was thinking of replacing my HD-555s but now i know not too, thanks!
XboxXXX 2 years ago
how audio is reproduced is subjective though.
these look identical to the HD-380 pro,
and if the sound is identical then they are a have a very flat and accurate response.
The HD595s will add a lot of colour to the original recording, and reproduce it inaccurately, which is pleasing for people want to hear an "improved sound" but not an accurate one.
djsmithy 2 years ago
jsut ordered some yesterday! do you think they are good?
fighterace34 2 years ago
Bought a set of these after I had issues with the new Logitech G35s (do yourself a favour and avoid the G35s like the plague ...they have a nasty design issue with high frequency noise in the right can when the mic is engaged and are as heavy as fuck !)
Sennheiser PC350s are wll worth the 250 AU bucks. They have brilliant sound reproduction. Sound Isolation is brllliant and you don't miss active noise cancellation.
Sennheiser reminds you that you get what you pay for. These rock.
LeonardRockstein 2 years ago 2

Well packaging is a big sales point when buying something... I mean if u walk into a computer shop, your not gonna pick the white box with nothing on it compared to this.. At first. And a lot of peoples with money.. make impulse buys.
NeilJillett1996 2 years ago
Actually, if you are into Mac's and Apple you will find yourself buying a lot of white boxes almost without anything on the outside :p ...I have a nice little collection growing here

togato 2 years ago
I bought these headphones today and am sending them straight back. I have used many types of Sennheiser products in the past, including gaming, DJ recording studio quality headphones. The sound on this model is terrible, its tinny and nasty. The bass is ok but the very bottom end stands out WAY too much and the mid range overshadows everything else. The mic picks up too much interference too. Basically they arent bad but most definately not worth the asking price!
danpure 2 years ago
I do not agree, you must have recieved a bad pair.
These headphones are great for the competitive gamer who plays with sound play and listens to foot steps.
togato 2 years ago
Fair enough, you are of course entitled to your own opinion but to confirm I am talking purely about the quality of the sound. I was extremely dis-satisfied with was the balance between the top, mid and bass range on these headphones which made everything sound odd and for music was just plain terrible. If you would be using these purely for games and nothing else then its "ok" because as you said they are good for footsteps etc.. for anything else they are bad and therefore not worth £90 +
danpure 2 years ago 2
Just ordered it. I really wonder what the bass is going to sound like :O

pc-350 nice one for pseudo players! yea! Hd 215 FtW!! <33
Vaxer929 2 years ago
1. Sennheiser HD 215's are pro headphones not a headset and are always going to produce better sound.
2. Sennheiser HD 215's came out over 4 years ago and any current headset from Senn. will out perform them.
3. This pseudo player will rock your cock-sock using Mickey Mouse headphones and a 1980's 10" monitor!
omar1s 2 years ago
haha you are so funny!
Vaxer929 2 years ago
i bought these headphones for $300, and they are worth every cent, the sound quality and comfort is amazing. I am very happy with them
crazypyroman14 2 years ago
Which one has the detachable speaker cord? I'm fucking tired of buying headphones, and the wire fucking gets lose over time, and the stereo channels go on and off acting as if it's mono, unless I move the wire like 2 mm's
I use headphones mainly for Binaural Beats, and gaming, so Stereo is a must.
I have already bought 2 Creative Fatality headsets, cuz of the god damn cord.. can't they just make it bigger and stronger? don't worry I wont laugh, everything is getting smaller, and it sucks. lol
1981z28camaro 2 years ago
not a ful review, he didn't even try them on and told us if the sound quality was god or not.

omfg i just bougght a 3 euros headset from the handymarkt and it works good why sould i buy a headset of 250 dollars
ShodowFromRakion 2 years ago
Because cheap headphones are uncomfortable and sound like crap, same with a cheap mic.
Not to mention these headphones have background noise filtering so good you could be using voice chat at a rock concert and they would only hear your voice.
weetiewildrose 2 years ago
fairly certain i'd get sick if i listened to music on a 3 euros headset, but if you've been listening to bad music for long enough, your ears don't develop and you'll hardly hear the difference between good and bad sound.
