A great rendition of this tune, but does anyone know of this with Bird backed by Hank Jones, Shelly Manne, and Ray Brown recorded Dec. 47? Thanks for any info.
@MelG11X Its from late April-early May 1949 right before he embarked on his first european tour at the Paris International Jazz Festival. The personel is Charlie Parker, Kenny Dorham, Al Haig, Max Roach, and Tommy Potter.
@MelG11X: 1/ Segment - Charlie Parker's All Stars: Miles Davis (tp), Charlie Parker (as), John Lewis (p), Curley Russell (b), Max Roach (d) - New York 1948
2/ These were his only recordings for Dec 1947: The Bird (C. Parker) ; Repetition (N. Hefti).
I want this music outta my head!

This was on Talladega Nights. First time I ever heard Charlie Parker. I have so much appreciation for him now though. So genius.
