  • dude thats cool

  • This must take a high level of skill to get the intonation correct. Very nice Job!!!

  • it sounds better then justin bieber

  • 20 dislikes? Why? This is really cool. Great vid!

  • This is so amazing!

You're very talented, considering how hard it is to play a theremin

  • it seems a soviet-like hymn !

  • @mudhoney110283 Which is fitting, because the theremin was invented by a Soviet.

  • karaoke 101

  • ITS an insstrumental !!! GREAT

  • one of my favorite songs. this has just made it better

  • rofl it sounds like...no wait they already put that...HA sounds like..nope wait put that one two...hegh if you think about it..sounds alot like...GOD DAMNIT!

  • Sounds like if the Beetles went to Whoville...

  • It sounds like a load of kazoo's

  • @Hi5Vids that made me rofl!

  • sounds like it came from a cartoon

  • This sounds like a choir of pigeons

  • 1:43 ONE HAND BEASTING

  • Bee tles lmao

  • Now do Dragonforce!

  • @Hissmannen That's LITERALLY impossible. He'd smash his theremin. <.<

  • @Hissmannen That would be amazing!!!!! xD

  • man i see alot of people bashing theremin but im telling you it doesnt matter how it sound. i played a party this weekend just me and my acoustic and every drunk there was impressed by my headstock tuner. imagine if they wouldve seen me playing one of theses things? "how...how do you think, he's like doing that? wheres the sound coming from?! WTF? is he magic?"

  • A Beehive is singing!

  • That is GREAT theremin playing!!! I am a musician myself, predominately into keyboard instruments. I know that the theremin is a hard instrument to play, for I tried my hand at it in a science museum in Louisville, KY, probably in 2010. I also like the output sound on your unit. The one that I played probably just had a square wave output, and was kind of harsh. Worse yet, theremins don't seem to do well as solo instruments.

    From John Nozum

  • Love it!!!

  • Awesome :)

  • meow meow meow

  • Turn it up!

  • Nice job. A little depressing, but nice job:)

  • You play the theremin with great accuracy. Congratulations!

  • dude ive seen lots try it but you sir are fucking awesome !!!!

  • You not alone with Cat allergies mate. They iritate my throat something chronic. Asthma and sneezes. Theremin could kinda sound like a very large cat puring.

  • its like Bees humming

  • Play some iron maiden!

  • Wow. This is the best playing Ive heard with the Theremin!

  • The BEST I've heard so far about being perfectly on key,,,, Dude you have an excellant Ear !!!

  • funny as hell but still VERY GOOD!! all the harmonies

  • funny as hell but still VERY GOOD!! all the hormonies!

  • lol it sounds like the beatles have duct-tape over their mouths

  • @MrRazot ---i laughed so hard i cried.

  • @MrRazot sounds more like the beatles sung this when they were transformed into actual bees.

  • @MrRazot

dude that serious made my day. =)

  • @MrRazot

dude that seriously made my day. =)

  • @MrRazot we can only wish

  • how is this instrument not a rage in modern music? you would think these would be everywhere!

  • @theobviouschild1 not many people play it...plus look at how much it costs

  • @DarkJoker7 A moog etherwave theremin costs about 400 bucks? Most professional instruments cost a lot more! You're right about not many people playing it though (except for sound effects), perhaps because it's quite a tough one to master.

  • @DoctorJacket the ones i've seen cost like 12k....O_o...

  • @theobviouschild1 The electric guitar stole it's thunder, I've got one though... mabye I'll be able to play it one day...

  • jesus instrument

  • Wow. I've "played" one of these, and they're blindingly difficult to keep at a note, much less find the right one. You did very, very well. Kudos.

  • It's funny when someone puts up a video response, and it gets more views.

  • Another song idea for Disney's Bugs Life preshow music.

  • very nice

  • You're awesome!

  • I love you.

Hey Jude is one of my favorite songs of all time, and I love theremin music.

    So you get bonys points.

  • Why do you make hand gestures in front of your radio? Does it work better that way? It looks ridiculous though..

  • I'm going to get a fake beehive, put a speaker inside it , and run a recording of this to it. Freak my neighbors the FUCK out!

  • Comment removed

  • @Yonkage

    OH MY GOD YES

Neighbor walks past, hears bees buzzing "Hey Jude".

Calls FBI and hides in closet.

  • you are a good player

  • nice job!

  • woow cuantos usos .. jajajajaj

  • Hummmm, seems auto-tuned.

  • I bet these things cause cancer

  • @flutitas22 No, it's only a magnetic field, not UV radiation.

  • @Tharumus No, it is an electrostatic field.

  • @flutitas22 No they don't.

  • @flutitas22

Put your money down; I'll take that bet.

  • @flutitas22 Your TV emits radiation. Your cellphone works on microwaves. You're bombarded with more radiation every second than you even realize. Research it. Its very fascinating.

  • Hey this beats the Happy Birthday dude by a million. Awesome job haha

  • Nice work-really shows the capabilities!

  • Now the bees can enjoy this song twice as much as before.

  • that sounds like a very happy of live bunch of bees harvesting food lol

  • make me cry, good work :D

  • very nice but it's kind of scary

    side negative effects?

  • Lmao at Pitchstrings.....lol....in a beehive...

  • probably the most tonally pleasing theramin playing i've heard. great job. great tune.

  • omg i was waitin for the whole Paul Scream "Hey judey judey judey judey ahaw!" ... dont judge i tried my best to type his screams out o the top of my head

  • at around 2:52 a harmony kicks in. Was it pre recorded or is there still something I don't know about the theremin?

  • @EnvyMy75 maybe the mouth piece?

  • I want this guy to play my funeral. And bring that painting too.

  • @aatamirikollinen hell dude just have it at his house lol

  • It sounds great

  • What a hard instrument to play!!

  • can u upload LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS "inside a beehive" with ur theremin???

  • that's trippy stop playin plz

  • is that a moog theremin

  • Are you kidding me? This is funny!

  • The mic on your cam doesnt do you justice man.

  • Sounds like Charlie Brown. You know, how they talk on the phone? WAHHH WAHH WAHH WAHHHHH

  • Bravo maestro!

  • This is totally awesome! Make more!

  • MYSTERYGUITARMAN SHOULD GET ONE

  • Awesome skills, very smooth playing, though not a particularly pleasant-sounding theremin, I'm afraid x_o

And I understand your cat problem completely. Cats are just so petable and lovely :) Try carrying with you some anti-bacterial gel, it does wonders to keep the allergens from your hands, and consequently your face, eyes and stuff.

  • fantastic job on the whole song! especially the "better, better, better AHHH" part. :)

    I LOVE THE BEATLES!!! :D

  • bees know good music. :)

the beatles are the best fucking band ever, no question. and even if you don't think that, you gotta think they're at least one of the best.

  • It sounds like....kids humming Hey Jude. I love it. five st-- I mean, thumbs up.

  • Beatles and Lenon sounds very gay

  • That's so cool........I totally forgot the Theremin existed for a while, and now I want to get one, lol. I have NO clue where I'm going to find one though.

  • you can make one by your own hands...

  • yeah, but I don't know how to DO that, lol. otherwise, I would. I'll need to find instructions, and things like that.

  • @S0v3r3ign69 whatever, lol. you need to get a life. you obviously are not a musician.

  • @TheScottishDragon I'm not a musician, right. But I do music for fun, using synths and mainly computer software. Believe me, I don't see the use of this shit instrument called theremin. It reminds me the old SF stupid movies. At least do you agree with that right?

  • @S0v3r3ign69 Just the idea of the instrument is cool. It uses the electrical waves, and the distance, to create pitch, and different tones. and also different volumes of tones. It's just kind of cool. Yeah, I guess it does kind of sound like the old Sci-Fi sound effects, but not all of the do either. just some of them. some of the nicer ones sounds more like musical things.

  • @TheScottishDragon Yeah yeah, I got your point. However was not my intention to offend you or your work (If you are a theremin player). I guess the concept is cool, but also is cool jumping from a high skyscraper without parachute. I actually dislike the sound of this instrument that's all! Have a nice day buddy, and try to get some crack cocaine and smoke it! Was not my intention to offend you! Love peace and grease!

  • @S0v3r3ign69 this is not the usual sound of a theremin. Check "Masami Takeuchi plays "Swan" on Theremin" in Youtube, you'll see how it sounds under a master virtuoso.

  • @S0v3r3ign69 It's actually from 1919, and is the first known electronic instrument. I like synthesizers too, but I understand their origin and respect them. Without the Theremin, most of your synths wouldn't exist.

  • @S0v3r3ign69 hah, synthetic tones suck, try recording real instruments or the human voice and putting those together if you want real music

  • @tehpersian Why choosing the hard way? Getting real instruments, playing and recording such things is more expensive, time consuming, and you need more people. Is better to use your time and money getting creative. This is the future my friend, wake up! Computers and software is the way for many domains.

  • You win at life. 5 stars!

  • Great work. Theremins are so hard to play.

  • that was beautiful

  • Perfectly on mark! ...It sounds like a bunch of black quior tenors on the other side of a wall.

His pitch sounds damn good though for a digital theremin! Imagine the beauty if it were analog!!!

Great job!! a fiver, like the tai boy ;)

  • What the fuck....It's not bad. It's just....What the hell is that?

  • HAHAHA I thought the same thing! still great job lol

  • wow how fascinating:O

  • very nice

  • sweet!

  • it made me cry....sounds like a bunch of cats meowing out of tune

  • lol i can acutally picture that

  • Titanic work, very nice...

But wouldn't be easier just to record 1 channel and later use some harmoniser software to make multivoicing?

  • But then it's not nearly as fun :P

  • i like that painting behind you!

  • this is witchcraft

  • ????????

  • i understand the whole aspect of left and right and and what to do, just couldn't get the notes to be on pitch, especially when going higher up, it's a fine line of hand tenseness and being relaxed.

  • wow sounds amazing!

  • it sounds so organic, even though it's electronic! like a human voice almost!

  • I know of one video where a man almost plays a theramin like a female soprano singer.

  • This looks extremely hard.

  • it is, I had one oh, about 7 years ago use it just a few times for just the shear noise of it. It is wild but I just couldn't get the, getting the notes. I play guitar, bass and little keys but this is playing AIR.

  • Ha ha! They should have this in Its Tough To Be a Bug at DCA!

  • Cool!

  • most theremin I've heard is garbage but this sounds professional

  • LOL at the people discussing weird shit no one cares about.

  • Just because it goes over YOUR head, doesn't mean it doesn't matter to anyone else. If you have nothing intelligent to contribute to a scientific discussion just refrain from commenting.

  • haha video description. your awesome great job

  • 5 stars and hearted!

That's some of the best theremin music I've heard to date!

    well, done!

  • Those singing bees always touch my heart. :) this is really cool

  • rofl at the description

  • thats so calming, well done bud

  • YOU ARE TOO AWESOME FOR WORDS :D

  • Hahaha, I would be standing next to beehives all the time if they made this sound :P

  • this is the Across the Universe Soundrack version right? i noticed because the original beatles version is a little faster and it last 7 min

  • very good!!!!

  • i have often wondered, "what would hey jude sound like from inside a beehive" u have put to rest my curiosity :p

    great work =)

  • @pitchstrings that is the funniest thing i have ever read lol

  • @pitchstrings lol

  • Awesome Beehive Singers :D

  • YOU WERE AWESOME (p.s: can you teach me ?)

  • The most pleasant sounding theremin I've ever heard.

    Well done!

  • I don't lightly use this word, but that was HAWEsome. :)

  • how do you play that with out even touching it?

  • magnetic fields, read the wikipedia on the theremin if you want a general idea

  • I think it uses some kind of radiation, probably something similar to radio waves. Disturbances in the fields causes the noises or something like that.

  • The general idea is you have two resonance circuits, both osculating at radio frequency. The oscillation is dependant on capacitance (and inductance). The areal and you act as a capacitor which changes the frequency of one of the resonance circuits as you move. The two signals are added together and the resulting signal has a frequency equal to the difference of the two resonant frequencies. Read up on capacitance, LC resonance circuits and beat frequencies if you want to know more.

  • The two frequencies from which the pitch is derived are not added, per se, but "mixed" with a non-linear element such as a diode. This is crucial, as mere algebraic addition of the two (in an ideal adder) would not yield a difference frequency. Regardless, this is a wonderful rendition!

  • Bollocks will the superposition of two signals (one varying and one stationary) not cause a change in frequency. The frequency you hear is the beat frequency. fb = |f1-f2|. Change f1, and fb will change. To change a radio frequency signal by a few Hz is a very easy and very small change, yet the same change is very noticeable at audio frequency. The fact that some circuits may use other methods for certain reasons does not mean that just addition does not change the frequency.

  • Without exception, the linear addition of two inaudible frequencies will never yield an audible difference frequency. Many theremins, including the original design, use heterodyning, that provides the generation of new frequencies by mixing or multiplying two oscillating waveforms as a result of the angle sum and difference identities as described by Abū al-Wafā' Būzjānī, a 10th century mathematician. "Superposition," when taken to mean addition, will not yield a difference frequency.

  • I am not disagreeing that heterodyning is used in most theremins. Yet the fact that you believe that the superposition of two waves does not produce a difference tone is laughable. If you don't believe me you can simply plot the addition of two sine waves of different frequency. You will see the envelope of the waves varies as |f1-f2|. Violinist Giuseppe Tartini showed this principle by playing two notes on a violin to produce a difference tone. Magical heterodyning violin, or superposition?

  • Well done!

(And I know how irresistible cats are. ;)

  • I love it, great rendition. Its so lowkey but it works so well and I know what you mean about the cat lol. I'm slightly allergic to my friend's cat, I get super itchy watery eyes and sniffly, but everytime I'm over I pick her up and carry her around everywhere hahaha.

  • fantastic! i hope to be as good as you one day : )

  • very nice
