I played with the playground yesterday and that´s incredible! But, like classic liqbase, it is very raw. I wonder how would it perform if it was given a little more eyecandy. I´m very excited about it! I never realized N8X0 could do something like that...
however, i am not a good coder, I am merely trying to create a system that lets me do what I want.
what we end up using it for afterwards is anybodies guess - you lot are the good programmers, not me.
im nearly ready with the next test which incorporates the search I preview here into the system and allows external modules to be inserted and removed with ease.
i can't add eye candy, but I can add some bacon grease to make it run well.
This is really awesome! Such fluid and fast response!
But I was wondering where are you aiming at with this project? I mean, this is great, and seems to me like a prototype UI, but... for what? I have no doubt that if this could be integrated with the OS would be a fantastic homescreen... Is it even possible?
I am really excited by the possibilities...
Keep us updated please. I´ll donate for you as soon as possible!
the project started because I was unhappy with the performance and wanted to see whether I could do better and whether i could give myself a system that did everything I wanted.
I'm pleased (but very tired) :)
I now have packaging sorted and will be releasing apps as both standalone and combined in the coming weeks.
its not a usable replacement for classical liqbase, but its certainly usable and gives feeling for zooming desktop and reasons why I want to continue with it.

Where I am aiming - we shall see.

alpha has been in extras-devel for a while.
its not a usable replacement for classical liqbase, but its certainly usable and gives feeling for zooming desktop and reasons why I want to continue with it.
source is there too ;)

no, hand coded XV graphics engine with lots of plugin support.
runs like a dream :)
lcukmaemo 2 years ago
how do you do that? How much faster than SDL is that?
770 compatible?
*I really want to do that for my 3D game engine!*
neostriderbzk 2 years ago
liqbase was created with lots of hard work and the objects slide on a layer of bacon fat.
its about 20-30% faster than SDL for equivalent blits with the same imagery, coupled with another boost due to the YUV video mode I am using.
i haven't got a 770 so don't know :)
lcukmaemo 2 years ago
Do you know any documentation of this YUV stuff?
only works for blittings?
is there a public release? I will try it on my 770

there is a public alpha testing feedback package now on the diablo extras-devel repository - look for liqbase-playground :)
its still not finished but has enough in to feel it for yourself :)
runs on nokia tablets and x86 too.
anything else though.
