  • I saw this one in a drive-in movie back around 1966 with another sci-fi. I think it was one of the best of the early outer space flicks done in color. The old sci-fi sound effects were always cool. Mario Bava did the Hercules movies with Steve Reeves a few years earlier.

  • TYs for the high-quality upload!...so many 240p's just look horrible, and some of the 360s as well for some reason...great mid-60s camp!...and some hot italian chicas in tight black leather to boot(tay)!

  • They should remake this movie for today, maybe syfy channel would do it.

  • No need to do that. Good horror/sci-fi is good horror/sci fi. I saw both Planet of the Vampires and Alien at a double feature at the old Hollywood theater, a revival house in NYC years ago. They always featured a double bill with films that had a connecting theme. This was in the mid 80s, before vcrs, dvd players, pay for view , ad Netflix esisted. Unfortunately, they put many revival theaters out of business.Nothing like seeing films like these on the big screen with other film buffs!

  • How can they walk around in those outfits

  • Good story, and it could (sort of) happen in real life, as it is proved that high pressure can affect the brain activity...classy...

  • 60 fractions of megon? Very scientific.

  • The atmosphere of the film is scary enough to forgive its weaknesses. Frightened the bejeebus out of me when I was a kid.

  • The dialogue in this movie is crappy! As if they did not memorized their script and they just reading it.

  • old movies were so easy on ur eyes. less, more simple buttons and switches and more empty walls. no graphics. love them loool

  • "Alien" owes a LOT to this film!!!

  • vampire prevent bite suit.

  • Old School.

  • @OneDeviousBastard ... You`re right! Almost forgot about that.

  • the gravitational pull was playing havoc with her breast implants!

  • Awesome! I never heard of this film before but it was great for it's time period! An updated remake of this film would be outstanding!! Did you know the guy who played "Wes" was the voice for Speed Racer in the original Speed Racer cartoon series? Also on of the other actors was the voice for the leader of the Car Acrobatic Team.

  • @dtaman85251 The voices of some of the men in this segment sound like voices I have heard doing dubs - or voiceovers or whatever they're called - from Asian languages in some of those old monster classics e.g. Godzilla, Mothra, et cetera....

  • the more up to date these cheesy sci-fi films are, the worse they are

  • This movie made no sense as their is not one vampire on this planet! An absolutely ridiculous movie!

  • @HemiVic You can't say the movie made no sense - you mean the title didn't fit the film. The real title is "Terrore Nello Spazio" anyway, "Terror In Space". And it's an absolutely gorgeous movie.

  • The guy who did the voice of the guy in the middle (on the monitor) at about 5:00 is Jack Curtis, who did the announcer voice (and Pops Racer & other voices) on the original 60's Speed Racer show. I'd recognize that guy's voice anywhere! Ok, Looked

it up and found nothing on Jack Curtis working on this (but it's gotta be him). I did find that Peter Fernandez (voice of Speed Racer, Racer X & others) worked on this, uncredited(!). He's the voice of Wes in this film...

  • Very good Film of the Horror/SciFi Genre...Along with Robinson Crusoe On Mars. But hey~THIS has Cosmic Vampires!!!!

  • O.o woah i watched this on t.v, i must say though i actually kinda liked it though

  • Saw this on Shock Theater in 1973. Fun movie

  • Calling all 50-60's sci fi buffs.... Anyone remember a movie from around the same era (maybe a couple years earler) that had an underground lair, on either the moon or a planet, with whispering aliens who lived in little cocoons. And the aliens had a Pendulum of Time? Pleeeeez. Been searching for the name of that movie for about 17 years. Thank you! Ruby

  • willom88 not bad for its jenre

  • I have a strange question - when I saw this decades ago the opening scene was a black and white montage of vampires doing things ending with someone being cornered by vampires. It then went into the film with the spaceship. Anyone else think there was a different opening?

  • @brismike65 I have got the italian version of it. The version of the film that I've seen starts with head titles on a black background, and the proper film starts at 1:28 of this video...

  • @satyrjack thanks for that satyr, interesting.

  • Thank u for postin'. Love classic 60's, 70's & 80's. Only reality rubbish on TV these days. Ah the days of Creature Double Feature/Theatre Bizarre & eary Sci-Fi Channel...

  • Wow, how they resist a powerful surge of excess gravity. Such amazing acting skills.

    Yeah, I'm being sarcastic.

  • This is okay, but I'm uploading the film in DVD quality... :-)

  • grazie per aiutare a diffondere il Maestro nel mondo! :)

  • THIS IS GREAT! Is there any chance you can upload the classic 1962 Italian sci-fi movie, PLANETS AGAINST US? (the original title was 'I pianeti contro di noi'). It's very hard to find anywhere, and yet it played on Los Angeles television many times back in the early sixties. It was one of the first "Android sent to earth to destroy humans" movies ever made, with some nice acting & effects, as I recall. HOPE YOU CAN GET THIS ONE UP ON YOUTUBE!

  • I love this spooky movie! Thanks for the upload.

  • wow he even stole the music

  • I won`t blow the ending, but it`s great. Can anyone who watches this movie deny that Ridley Scott ripped it off in Alien?

  • @loufalce no1wit common sense

  • @loufalce Yes, indeed. Alien's writer claimed the same issue.

  • @loufalce The giant alien skeleton.... Scott has made a sort of cameo of it.

  • @loufalce Uh, yeah.

  • @loufalce

Ridley Scott only directed Alien; Dan O'Bannon wrote the script. And his script was inspired by IT: Terror from Beyond Space, not this movie.

  • @Stopmotionist However, you can't deny that major elements of this movie bear a rather eery similiarity to ALIEN. A spaceship responds to a distress call, lands on strange planet. Find an alien spaceship (as well as one of their own), the crew gets 'infected' by a parasite, etc. The scene where they find the alien ship (with giant skeletons) shows that O'Bannon probably watched this movie at least once when he was younger.

  • @loufalce Dan O'Bannon, the writer of Alien admitted that he stole parts of this movie for Alien. If I'm not the first commenter to tell you this I apologize,

  • Mario Bava is one of my favorite directors. This isn't one of his best, but it's still pretty damn good.

  • ridley scott was such a plagerist. He stole all the ideas for the movie "alien" from the movie "planet of the vampires." even the U shape of the alien vessel he used for the movie "alien

  • those high collars would keep a vampire off your neck I suppose

  • Its almost like alien. Even the planet is almost like Alien.

  • This movie kind of foreshadows Alien, lost derelict vessel where some thing kills the crew. Crew tries to warn other ships but isn't understood in time. One by one, crew is killed.

  • This is one of my all-time favorite science fiction movies. The starships Argos and Galliot are so beautiful, and could have possibly lent some inspiration to the design of some of the Federation space vessels featured in Star Trek. I first saw this movie on television when I was an adolescent. It showed under an alternate title THE DEMON PLANET, which, in addition to its original title TERROR IN SPACE, was more appropriate, since there are actually no blood-drinking vampires in the story.

  • I SO want an italian space jacket, they rock

  • Hi,

I think they were influenced by the design of Japanese sci fi films of that period. Its a possibility.

  • I was a huge fan of scifi and monster movies when this came out but somehow I missed this one. I'm glad someone posted it here. It's one of the better scifi films from that time.

  • Looks like a class A flick thanks for posting

  • My favorite part of the movie it at 5:31: "One minute...mark...wait!" Gives me chills every time I see if, such eerie foreshadowing!

  • if thats your favourite part then the film must be total shit

  • Outstanding Italian design: spaceships, costumes, interior décor. Would have made a great Enterprise!

  • I remember seeing this alone in 1965, when I was six years old. My old man would take me downtown on a saturday afternoon, drop me off at the theater, and then have a couple of hours to hit a bar and have a few beers.

This movie scared the crap out of me, I had nightmares for weeks.

  • G1!! Classic Movie! Thanks!

  • Thanks fror posting What a great movie

  • Too much technobabble that when you hear it, you want to strangle the script writer! A cheesy but nice movie to watch anyway! Thanks for posting it! I like cheesy movies..Got anymore?

  • reminds me of Forbidden Planet, but much darker. this movie helped inspire Alien

  • One of BAVA'S greatest....towards the end, look for the glint of cold steel in the eye as it looks thru the crack in the door...this is classic Bava, I LOVE it!!

  • This is the original Aliens

  • Father took to me to see this at the theater when I was 5 in '65 when it was a double feature titled "Demon Planet" with "Die Monster Die". Scared the crap out of me from the color, weird, loud sounds and quick zoom in's on bloody faces foreign films lavished in back then.

This looks restored because the theater print had the shine on the leather suits an eerie blue where here all scenes look neutralized.

First movie to stick in my head for this long due to its trippy nightmarish ambience.

  • wow this is pretty awful.

  • How exactly do you calculate 60 fractions of Megon?

  • jajjajajjjaja LOL

  • this really blew my away for and old si-fi flick ,,vary fun to watch ,vary good picking them

  • hey guys x-men stole your outfits :P

  • lol good one.

  • I saw this in a movie theatre in Portland, OR last night. It was amazing!

  • Netflix has the oddest assortment of movies - i rented Cannibal Holocast from there, but this one isn't to be found. The first 10 minutes are intriguing - i might have to watch the rest of the episodes here on Youtube.

  • this is the dumbest movie video ever made

  • U don't know much about Bava.

  • Lotsa wasted space on that rocket ship. Without this movie there would have been no Alien.

  • I would like to add some full movies to this site. You are doing a public service.

  • A lot of "atmosphere."

    0.o

    Thanks for posting film.

  • Scifi costumes in movies and tv shows suck unless it's Star Wars.

  • This scared the daylights out of me when I saw it as a child years ago.

  • Yeah, 50.

  • thanks for uploading

  • i have a copy of this movie on vhs ,and when i bouht it on dvd i was surprised the music of the opening titles is diferent. any one knows why ?

  • There's an awesome 60's, golden age Toho vibe to this flick.

  • Toho was influenced by this film when they did MONSTER ZERO.

  • love the big, glowing orb

  • the uniforms are fetishistic..wonde wht inspired them?

  • perfect midnight movie. thanks for posting!

  • Is this some sort of international version, because I remember there being an actual theme song when I rented this years ago.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah umm that was quite the name choice lmao and you are most welcome hunny.

I will try to keep the classics coming along.
