  • i have an 01 with a 4.6. i took the muffler off and ran a pipe out the side. it sounds the exact same and i still have both original cats, and it cost 10 bucks and took 20 minutes....

  • just because you take the converters and mufllers off an engine doesnt mean that it takes away the back pressure, its still there, it would just suck in too much air and effect the way your engine runs. so your engine will still have backpressure without mufflers or cats

  • yal need to be careful cutting cats off it can mess up the backpressure of the engine and screw it up, u need to keep at least 2 cats on it

  • @redneksk8er "back pressure" is a myth. and....on that truck i had high flow cats

  • @f150man55 back pressure is not a myth, its part of the function of an engine

  • @redneksk8er then why do race cars run without mufflers and converters, so there is no restriction or.."backpressure"

  • @f150man55 the racecars still have backpressure, but doesnt need muffler or cats for it because it depends how the engine is set up, my 1988 f250 has a 460 engine in it, it doesnt have muffler or cats, but it still has backpressure, all engines do, i gurantee if you get your 150 , cut the cats and mufflers off, get on the interstate and lay into it, you will blow up your engine or screw it up somehow, it all depends how the engine is built and set up

  • @redneksk8er why would your engine still have back pressure without mufflers or converters and mine wouldnt?

  • @f150man55 you dont seem to undrstand, ALL ENGINES HAVE BACK PRESSURE, the way older and some bigger engines are built and set up, you dont need the resistance of mufflers and cats, newer vehicles have cats and mufflers because its the law to have them. ALL engines have backpressure, the engine sucks in air with the rotation of the pistons, mufflers and cats add resistance that makes the right amount of air get sucked back into the engine, take those away, your engine can suck in too much air

  • @f150man55

    nascar run headers and mufflers

your front 2 cats are pre-cats you need those. they do the air fuel ratio.

  • @redneksk8er i was real careful in cuting the cat off my truck. i wore gloves

  • for made it easy as hell with the 04+ up F150's lol. you just take off the stock catback and walla. loud and raspy as hell lol. i did a muffler delete on my '01 4.6 F150 and it sounds no where near as loud as our '07 5.4 with a muffler delete

  • @stuntrider15 because the 97-05's had 4 converters, everything after that has only 2

simple solution for that, on the 97-05's take the bigger cats off, the rear ones and youll open it up ALOT

  • @f150man55 i never knew that, thanks for the info. i'll see if i can get them off today. thank god i live in florida lol no emission testing FTW!

  • @stuntrider15 hell yea man where i live in texas we dont have it either!!

  • i knda did mine like kinda urs i have a 98, all four cats with straight pipe then goes to a y at the axle with split duals its pretty loud i love it. hella cheap to i vids posted up

  • trust me it would of been just as loud i did it to my truck

  • i have a 1991 for ranger lifted for hunting i used a sawzall and its loud as shit

  • Lol dude who said he spent thousands......fail. I have the exact truck and paid $250 for the converter pipes and tips... Ur a dumbass.

  • truck sounds good.....iv got a 2005 with a straight piped 4.6 it sounds mean and i get tons of compliments

  • instead of paying thousands you could ave taken a blow torch and cut the muffler off

  • @JMoney5251 who the hell said i spent thousands? converters 65.10 each, ghetto rigged H pipe 15, tips 35 each.

no where close to a thousand, and if i just cut the muffler off it would sound like shit and wouldnt have been this loud.

    and i would use a sawzall :)

  • @f150man55 bro i just cut off my muffler today can you message me exactly what you did and prices of the iteams appreciate it

  • @f150man55 hey 1st off nice truck 2nd can you tell me what cats you have i want them for my 98 and are they front or rear cats and do you have a rear cat delete?

  • @robert30319 magnaflow 94106 cats, and this truck only has 2 cats not 4

  • @f150man55 i agree with u all the way certain trucks like dodge or chevy u can just take muffler out n get that sound, but with fords u got to do alittle more work. because i had a 97 f-150 like this with exhaust dumped out before the wheel and it does not sound anything like this and was quiet for for haveing now muffler.

  • sounds real sexy

  • Thanks man

  • @xblessthefall anytime

  • Hey how many cats did you have. Because I have a 2003 just like yours but 4x4 and 5 speed standard. Anyways I wanna take the cats off and put magnaflow hi flow cats on like you but apperantly you can't on the 03s hmm.

Ohh and also did you set off your CEL

    Thanks

  • @xblessthefall these trucks come with 2 pre cats and 2 big converters, i had all 4 cut out and had magnaflow 94106's put in, instead of 2 per pipe i have one, so 2 total..yes you can on the 03's because its the exact same thing.

you can get MIL eliminators, tuner or google "Gotts O2 mod" and follow that, i did the "gotts mod" he uses spark plug non-foulers.

i havent had a CEL for the converters since i did the non-fouler mod

  • sounds sweet

  • what size pipe ru useing

  • 2.5"

  • did u feel a big loss in power when u straight piped it?

  • nope, felt a HUGE gain actually. from the single chambered mufflers to no mufflers frees it up alot so no restriction. and the high flow converters helped too

  • ah ok thanks for the help! ima try it on my 04

  • Sounds really good wish i could do that here without getting in trouble with the law

  • yea well i KEPT gettin in trouble with the law, so i put mufflers back on

  • i wish i still had my old truck to make it sound like this

  • hell yea dude cant beat em

  • is this actual true duals like where they mess with your headers or whatever they do or is it just dual pipes after the cats? im not sure help me out i need to know what to get done to mine! thanks.

  • factory manifolds, hi flow cats, crossover pipe (Hpipe) 2 seperate pipes run back into the tips

  • true duals are just that 2 pipes (in this truck it happens to have a crossover pipe

a single in dual out cat back is 2 pipes into back into 2

  • you run true duals on with the hi-flows and the h pipe right?

  • yea

  • hey do u now how much it all cost if u dont mind me askin

  • it was 65.10 a piece for the converters, 15 for the crossover pipe, about 45-50 a piece for tips and about another 50 for pipes

  • how loud on the highway

  • not to bad, if you keep it under 70 mph

  • why?

  • why what? why is it not to bad or why under 70? either way if it gets over about 2k rpms it starts to bug you in the cab

  • since you did an h pipe this actually sounds similar to a mustang, not bad man i got an 01 supercrew myself with the 4.6

  • yea i put that H pipe on there to kinda quieten it down a little bit lol

  • i gotta a 98 4.6 f150 no muffler and i got stock cats on their right now.. u think if i got the highflows like u, it would be louder? ur trucks sounds great

  • yea it will be quite a git louder

  • or you could take the cats out and straight pipe it unless they do epa testing where you live

  • ah so his truck will run like shit???? i wouldnt advise that i usta have a no cat set up and my truck ran horrible

  • Sounds awesome! My truck exhaust is loud too, but a little different than yours. Sounds good.

  • any trouble with cops?

  • nope had this set up for like 6 months now and no tickets or anything warm idle had a nice rumble and sounds good and not overly loud cold idle is TO loud that H pipe helps it stay quiet enough when im driving to stay out of trouble but still loud enough to get looks when i pass by this is the loudest i would want any car or truck loud and sounds good thats all i want

  • pop crackle and snap bo i love it

  • Niccccce! ;-)

  • sounds great i have a 03 f150 i just had 1 factory cat on each side loud as hell. but we moved to a neigborhood i have magniflows on it now i think its to quite but this weekend im gettin them cut back off i will have a vid up soon. props

you helped me decide this is exactly what i will do sometime

  • lol glad i can help, but im gonna tell you if you get just 2 hi flows on there and no mufflers like mine its DAMN loud, lol
