any deere gets it done... and ten times better than any POS red tractor! don't have a 440, but i've seen them at work, and my cousins own two 2940s that will haul ass off any of the competition.
we have two 4440's with duals. and we use them to pull a 9 shank V ripper and when they hit hard ground that front end of the tractor lifts up and stays up for good 40 feet. and never once do we have to shifft down.
course not haha my friend talks about his "great 10" that hauls ass- i told him to come up here some day when we're hauling silage and the front end of the 2940s are lifting the front end off the ground climbing uphill- 2500 rpm road gear
spring is almost over and the summers coming days are getting long waited all winter for the time to be right just to take you along. my grandpa had a 4440 like that but he traded it off and bought a 4640 with powershift and MFWD.
nice vid, i do the same thing every year only with a new idea baler and a quad range 4440, you should of had a quad, 8 speeds arent enough, 15's were better in the 50 series
i miss our 4440 pop traded it in for a 7520ivt what a POS! the 44 was way better!

The 4440 is the pride of John Deere, what a great tractor. I have a 1980 4440 and it don't have an ounce of quit!

yeah, but i like the powershift for easy shifting without using the clutch..it makes it a whole lot easier when baling

Ah gotta love the old Deere's... We've got a 3350, 2850 and 2040. They all sound great, look great, and always get the job done.
