Someone in the UK around 1980-81, possibly a resident Japanese scientist, built a helium-filled, pedal-powered, "plank-style" flying wing aircraft.
It was in Jane's, maybe 1981 or '82. Any idea what became of this? I love the idea. No travel, just flying.

I don't think it will go fast enough for a windshield buffeting winds from the sides might be a problem, but a seatbelt and good pair of goggles should suffice.
