  • what do assisstant director and art directors do?

  • I think it is much easier to quit or stop smoking using the

    e-cigarette from TopInternetStore .

  • Yep, this is right on. Smoking is one of the hardest things to beat, but it most certainly CAN be done with a little inspiration, education, and perseverance. Good luck to all the quitters out there!

  • Wow. With respect again, I can see why you were "driven out of the field." Planned abstinence does not work. It actually kills people. Myself and MILLIONS of other people have tried planned abstinence, but failed each time. I personally knew 6 people who tried to quit their drug of choice by planning how they would not "use" when they had an urge. Those 6 people(friends of mine) are now dead. Please stop killing people with your message.God and the Steps saved my life and many others' lives.

  • wow, awesome!

  • ah........smoking sucks!

  • @gdub555 smoking is a mega sin just think about second hand smoke look how many people walk outside you can be killing someone without knowing it second hand smoke the government needs to stop this look at the innocent people walking on the streets i understand if a person wants to harm there self but harming others is a mega mega sin GOD BLESS AMEN AND AMEN PEACE

  • I spent eleven years in the field of drug and alcohol education. (*Treatment* is a meaningless word in this context.) I've never known anyone to openly reveal his secret as depicted in the opening scene. I realize the need to convey specific information, but substance abusers would be better served if the misnomer of the frantic person dumping out drawers could be replaced by something more realistic. Most users keep it a secret. Those who don't never last long enough to develop a "habit."

  • Thanks for the comment.

  • Cliff: I take it you have never been addicted to tobacco. Also, I don't think you watched the whole video, as the start was a dream sequence. I'd like to meet a smoker who doesn't identify with frantically trying to find a smoke.

If you had watched the whole video, you would have gotten the message that quitting smoking is very difficult and having the support of loved ones is crucial.

    Matt: thanks for the video!

  • Ahhh....a sophisticated viewer that actually get it.

    thanks

  • cliffwalkinfool:

Out of all due respect, I spent 5 years in and out of "treatment" centers for alcoholism (8 yrs. sober now..thank God). I think it's great that you apparently dedicated yourself to that job, and "treatment" might work for some, but all it did for me was make things worse. If you try to educate addicts and give them "coping skills" it generally does not work. You cannot solve a problem with the same mind that created it. Counseling might work for some, but not a true addict.

  • Excellent point of view. Thanks for sharing.

  • LOL

  • smokem if you gottem

  • Thats the thing with anti-smoking ads on TV. I know they all have a valid point in all of it but at the end of it, It always makes me feel like a smoke....

  • i guess I could use one myself about now...LOL I hear ya...

  • This makes me wanna smoke

  • Well I guess i missed the mark then....

  • if you're gonna smoke, at least get high off of it!

  • I liked it. I don't know why. I liked the camera work, as well a the Mark Twain quote at the end. Nice touch. I've never understood though, maybe someone can explain. Why try? I hear it's disgusting the first time, so why try again? Is it an act of rebellion, or trying to do what others do?I don't understand, and I never have.I'm not trying to say that people are stupid.I'm very understanding, and I usually understand people's reasoning, but don't and never have understood smoking.

  • Thanks, cigarettes are the root of so much evil. It's truly one of humans worst vices. Thanks for the great comment Sara.

    ChappyShowcase

  • what was that thing on is arm again?

  • That was a nicoderm patch. He is quitting smoking.

  • A must watch video people!

Smoking isn't good medicine for stress! Your best buddy will take years off your life!

Try running, walking, chewing gum, talking to a friend instead of that cancer stick!from

Some one who cares about you all!

    God Bless You.

  • Everyone hates a Quitter.

My ex told me to quit smoking. I said, you wouldn't make me do that if you truly loved me, she said its me or the cigarettes...

    *Lights up*

  • Quitting is truly one of the hardest things I have ever done. Your women was just trying to do what she thought best. Good luck!

  • Maybe, maybe. But I'm old enough to make those desicions on my own.

Props for giving up though, I'm sure it was tough. Maybe one day I'll try, but for now I really do enjoy it.

  • was never smoke a fag with broken glass in it like an underlying secondary message? lol very well made

  • QUITTED THANKS LOADS M8

  • gave me cravings, i smoke just reminded me that it not that important, i am now on the verge of quitting!!!

  • Cool, good luck quitting.

  • Hey man I didnt expect that outcome. good video :)

  • I was hoping to create a story that really unfolds as you watch it. A couple of curve balls here and there are also thrown into the equation. Glad you like it.

  • The fundamental appeal of smoking is that it is a *Taboo*, which means that the only person who can resist the Temptation to smoke is the smoker, ex-smoker, or would be smoker. Any external influence that encourages abstinence only reinforces the reflexive desire to rebel against such prohibitions, and in so doing, ultimately only serves to deepen the attraction to smoking.

    Interesting piece! :)

  • Humans do have a tendency to seek out things that are "taboo". Basic premise of my film really.
