i have a great idea of what music is, thanks. and the jonas brothers is a perfect comparison. their popularity lies in their looks, not actually making good music. this guy had to cover another band's song to boost his own popularity. maybe if it was like in the 50's, where songs were essentially passed around by songwriter's, but this is i'm guessing from 2007? universal owns the rights. they probably gave it to him and said "here, cover this catchy song".
