  • What is your opinion of a good large catch and release net?

  • @wannafish1

Hmmm....light, telescopic long handle, all rubber netting or woven knotless. To tell the truth I don't like any on the Canadian market that I have seen......big nets are a big pain in the behind....but they sure are handy.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. I think the concept came from a need to give novice anglers an idea of what the average fight time should be. It was and still is tradition to play them to exhaustion if an angler is going to kill and retain the fish. Conservation organizations needed to set the play time to a most frequent time line. Hauling them in too quickly makes it hard to get the hook out of the fish without risks near the rocks and playing them too long adds stress. Experience solves issues.

  • not keen on 1 min per pound for cnr..i up my leader when planning to release..nice vid
