I was distant and layed low from WWE and wrestling all together and Heyman could not of said it better about Bret Hart. Then in 2008 I came back out of the dark, because of Mickie James and her tallent, and after not attending a live event since 1996, I went to my 1st & only SmackDown in Feb 2010 to see Mickie James, and now she too gets the ax. No more WWE for me.

Amazing that this was ten years ago already.
Someone could cut pretty much the same promo this week on SmackDown and it'd still, for the most part, make sense.

Terry Funk said it best: "Vince McMahon is the most hardcore man in wrestling." Vince is the only person in this business who will let his own employees say or do so much shit to him on camera. He let Heyman do it, he let Joey Styles do it, he let CM Punk do it. And the fact that you guys are eating it up, means this man knows how to do his job.

He is the MAN and was destined to own Pro Wrestling. @Saratogasaratoga a better show than Vince who was putting out a dated 80s type show. Paul E is a genius who knew how to cater to Generation X but didn't wisely manage his business. Vince is a shrewd business man and saw that Paul had the winning formula so he emulated it and won it all! Sadly this is the last gasp of genius I have seen from Vince. He has taken his promotion as far as it can go. Vince needs to be challanged to be a great innovater! Without competion the WWE has been stale.

@Landaux Why? TNA's badly written, too. Just using stronger language than the PG WWE doesn't automatically make it "better". TNA is too busy trying to be WWE & WCW to devvelop into what it could & should be. WWE needs a real competitor to force it to improve, and TNA just isn't being that. It's like TNA is DETERMINED to self destruct.

@ebailey140 I have my reasons to be a fan of TNA. Mickie James for one. She brought me back into being a wrestling fan... PERIOD. I was distant and layed low from WWE and wrestling all together and Heyman could not of said it better about Bret Hart. Then in 2008 I came back out of the dark, because of Mickie James and her tallent, and after not attending a live event since 1996, I went to my 1st & only SmackDown in Feb 2010 to see Mickie James, and now she too gets the ax. No more WWE for me.

@Landaux You missed Mickie's most memorable work, then (her stuff with Trish in 2005-06).
WWE and TNA both have great performers & bad writing. TNA is too nostalgic for it's own good, living in the past, not trying to create the future, something new. Just because Vince doesn't own it doesn't make it automatically great.
And, again, this is a PROMO, by one of the main WRITERS OF THE SHOW, not a shoot.

I truly feel if paul heyman or eric bischoff or tna or any other independant companies are better than his product they would be in business today or doing better than his.
They are good writers and business men but vince is the king by the fact he is still in business and doing awesome
I know other factors went into certain failures of a few of those companies but vince was tried for steroids had ted turner breathing down his neck yet he never lost his company.

@jwb864 You're really taking this completely out of context and you're showing tht you don't know much about the buisiness. A wrestlers, manager, or whatever would be given something to talk about, but would have to ad lib everything. As oppose to today, where the creative team scripts out an entire promo and that person has to remember the entire promo. This is a worked shoot, so it's a shoot, so it's unscripted under kayfabe rules essentially.

@jwb864 It's a worked shoot. This segment was on the script for the program, however he was just told to go out and speak about the Invasion, ECW, etc. Making it seem realistic, hence the term work. What Heyman was saying was not scriped, it was ad libbed
