Yep, I have one. Works great! I just caught a house sparrow the other day. You have to be careful when talking about killing "sparrows" in-general, and make sure you say "house sparrows". We have so many native species of real sparrows, someone will think you're on a native-sparrow killing spree. I usually keep a head count, literally, when I snap their head from their neck. Head goes one direction, body goes the other. In a related video, I gave backup to Karenpato1. She was being argued with.
So, if i like to go hunting and i follow the rules on killing invasive species, i suddenly dont believe in God? Your telling me to mind my own business, yet your the one coming onto my video post and complaining about something you have no idea about. Along with that you resort to calling me a nerd and say that im going to hell because im a hunter. So im a nerd because i know stuff about the environment? Your are very uneducated. Learn what your arguing about, before posting.
@FeaturedAds First of all, learn proper english before arguing. Second of all, invasive animals involved with destroying the ecosystem and the natural balance between predator and prey are completely different things. Your argument is invalid.
@FeaturedAds You can take your uneducated liberal-self and leave, read a book and you will see that house sparrows cause destruction for native birds. house sparrows are invasive, they are called that for a reason.
I had a trap like this that I made. I did not like having to touch the birds or try to chase them down inside the trap holding area. Once in hand I did not like the idea of having to kill them. I also left it out for a weekend and returned to find a very stressed out Cardinal in the trap. When Cardinals are stressed out they defecate 100's of times. Seeing this concentrated within the trap was heartbreaking and I retired the trap at once determined to build a better trap. Look up: AviTrap
I've owned my house sparrow trap (hosp) from Blaine for 4 years now. Just pulled it out yesterday and caught 4 hosp's. Its working great, I use millet for bait which they can't stay away from. Since I haven't used it in a few years, the hosp have overtaken the yard. My song birds are all but gone- so I'll thin the hosp population to bring them back.
I just bought one of these from Blaine. Repeating sparrow trap google for it. I had TWO clutches of 5 blue bird eggs each DESTROYED by these beasts just in the last month. I think they killed Momma blue too, I haven't seen her in several days. I can't wait to catch them by the dozens so I can have the pleasure of wringing their scrawny little necks.
@EsotericDesi well if you saw my older videos you would see that i had a falcon so the sparrows are food for her, but if you catch a house sparrow your supposed to kill them because they are a invasive species.
@EsotericDesi i think he'll draw a sketch of sparrows then give them to poor mexican families. instead of giving them to chinese. because Chinese won't even eat them now....LOL
A sparrow-Hitler. How charming. Murder is murder, regardless of species.

I either shoot them or put those sticky mouse traps into the nest. It always works.

All that food around the trap gives them something to eat and they wont go in, try removing the food on the outer platform
kennnmoran 1 year ago
@kennnmoran yeah i know the wild sparrows enjoy the seeds alot more also but i still caught tons of sparrows with this trap
AnimatedKestrel 1 year ago
Nice! you should give them some water to keep them alive. If you play a recording of chatter you will get even more sparrows!
grosehexe 1 year ago
