Clone troopers are cloned from Jango Fett, they were trained day in day out for 10 years learning how to do nothing but fight,, the basics of life were flash trainned into their brains. During the war they ran out of Fetts DNA and began making clones of clones, these were less efficent as they spent less time training, 6 months compared to the ten years of the kamino clones. In the origonal trilogy the stormtroopers aren't even Fett Clones and have next to no trainining.

Before that actually happened, Palpitine had more clones being produced at a one of Coruscant's moons called Centax 5 and they were being bred and prepared in about a year which is why they arent as effective as the original clones, who had been bred and prepared in about ten years.

@tacogoingnuts The reason the clone troopers are supperior is due to the fact that after the kaminoans attempted to create a second clone army to stop the exspansion of the empire, the empire stopped using the same genetic template. Thus creating less unity, and ultimately flawed troopers, though still quite effective.

@tacogoingnuts actually the Stormtroopers were made to be worse because first of all the Imperial Empire started accepting non-clone recruits to join the Stormtrooper Corps and second the Kaminoans were upset over the whole Republic collapse so they started making less-efficient (barely noticeable though) soldiers for the Empire.

Believe it or not Clones are better than Stormtroopers,,,Combat wise....clones are all created equal and basically the same combat effectiveness and expierence,,,,when stormtroopers are just like mercenaries and have different experiences and combat effectiveness,..Clones are like super soldiers... In fact thanks to Jango Fett being the source for all Clones and he helped to train them and influenced their armor you could almost say that the Clones Troopers are, to a point, Mandalorians. Hence their superiority to the Merc. Stormtroopers. In fact i think some clones did turn into Mandaloirans. Not sure though.

@RevicLanTenia No they didnt. The Clones had no real Mandalorian culture instilled in them in general. The level of Mandalorian influence from lowest to greatest is this: The Clone Armies. then the Commandos, the ARCs and finally the Null-ARCs. The Nulls were personally trained by Jango according to the books. The Clones in general knew very little Mandalorian phrases which they used and knew some Mandalorian songs but that was it for the most part.

@RevicLanTenia Also the clones, as you know, were artificially aged to maturity. The problem though, is their accelerated growth never stopped, so they kept aging faster then a normal human would. If I remember the lift span for a clone was only 30 or 40 years. Something that ridiculously low. Even if they did become Mandalorians, they wouldve only lived maybe two decades after the clone wars. (The Null-ARCs tried finding a cure to stop the aging process but I dont believe they were successful)

During Order 66 the Kamino cloners stayed loyal to the Republic, and rebelled against Palpatine. The cloners made their own special clone troopers and fought against the Empire, eventually they were overrun and all the special clones and Kamino cloners were killed. After that Palpatine had a distrust with the clones, and when all of them die out during the Jedi Purge, he used real recruits and new clone templates that were not of Jango Fett.
