  • Mary Black! What can i say,,,,,, she is good and then there`s Mr Tommy Flemming. BRILLIANT

  • Great version; the one by Alison Krauss, James Taylor, Mark O'Connor & Yo-yo Ma is another fave.

  • @smeejit That version is my personal favorite, but this one is beautiful too.

  • I too really like this version of this song. The Tommy Fleming version is so commercial it overtook my facebook posting. This version is pure and simple, and a testament to Mary Black in her interpretation of good music. Awesome. Peace be with you.

  • Thanks for posting this, I really enjoy this version! It doesn't hurt that Im related to the great Stephen Foster! =)

  • This beatiful song helps me thru my hard times :-)

  • There are many great versions of this song, Mavis Staples maybe at top of the list, but this one may be her sternest competition. No coincidence I fear that it is the Irish and the descendants of Africans brought to this land in chains that feel it most deeply. Thanks for a great post, unavailable anywhere else.

  • Thank you for this beautiful video♫ ***** ♫.

  • oh hard times come again no more please

    If only that was true

  • I remember seeing this song on an advert for viagra lol

  • hard times come again no more in HYAITI

  • Thanks a lot Mr. Foster. Hope You enjoy it in Heaven.

  • I remember seeing the "Gael Force" special when it aired as part of a PBS pledge drive (I believe in the late 1990s); this is my favorite song in the show. Thank you for posting.

  • Did Tommy Fleming get that jacket from a yank tourist?? its brutal!!

  • Does anyone have a version of Jennifer Warnes covering this song?

  • I loved this version with all the verses! It was song in the film "Georgia" by Mare Winngham found @ Utube by typing Georgia "The Concert" it is great there too because it is such a beautiful folk tune! :)

  • @ TheCathyLeach -The Mare Winningham is nice (but she does a mistake in the movie S Foster 1859 the reality is 1854 during a great depression),t the Bob Dylan's version is famous too

  • Tis good so 'tis

    so 'tis so 'tis

  • powerful song, super words, very meaningful

  • Go raibh mile mile maith agat

  • magnifique. une pure merveille de Stephen C Foster.

    Un immense compositeur.

    Publié en 1854

  • In fact, the whole ensemble is terrific! And let us not forget the man who wrote this, and so many more - Stephen Foster!

Thanks to the musicians, producers, and poster!

  • Mary Black is awsome !
