  • One of my favorite games on the A1200. Played it often and it was great fun. Even the graphics was quite good on a SVGA Monitor back in the days. ;-)

  • Is that the Altered Beast transformation noise? LOL!

  • Will you do a Amiga Longplay of Night Breed soon please? We wanna see that one. Thanks dude.

  • I played in my A1200 with a Cobra 68040. I think this and Breathless were the best of that time, leaving far behind Doom.

The music and effects are excellent, creating an atmosphere like few others.

  • The similarities between this (as well as the first Alien Breed 3D) and Doom are quite noticable.

  • In my winuae alien breed 3d ii is very slow. What can i do to make it run properly?Any suggestions please?

  • The music of this game is awesome!!!

  • Thank friggin' lord I finally got this game working on WinUAE. Oh, and by the way, yes, I paid money for WinUAE, I got Amiga Forever from Cloanto for about 60 US dollars. (I got the Premium Edition). Long live Amiga!!!! :)))

  • I cannot read the end text. :(

  • just download the HQ version from out site :)

  • hey amiga fans!! a question that might seem a bit silly: how does one activate the "mouse look" feature that seems to be used here? i can't find something like that in the menus.. is there a patch or something, or is anything wrong with me not finding it? :)

  • Press M in-game to switch to mouse mode. K goes back to keyboard control.

Left button to walk forward (replaces the keyboard forward :/), right button to shoot. Takes a little to get used to. The game's auto-aim is still enabled in mouse view.

  • hello there.. thanks for the advice.. why on earth were they stupid enough to disable the forward button in mouse view still beats me.. makes it pretty unplayable, for me at least.. pity, it was a great game none the less.. someone should right a patch fixing this!! :) there had been talks in a forum (can't recall excactly which one though) about someone rewriting this game's maps for the unreal (1) engine, does anyone know anything about it? thanks again!

  • Yeah who knows why forward key is disabled in mouse mode. I got used to it alright though. It's nice to play at 30fps fullscreen in mouse mode, I actually finished the game (never did on my A1200 030/50, Level K was too hard :P).

It would be awesome to see another Alien Breed 3D game, on a modern engine (preferably cross-platform ;)).

  • doom replica why coz it has a shotgun? so all FPS are doom copy's? i know lets all stop makeing first person shooters just to please you.

  • hmph. looks like another doom replica.

  • AB3D is so much more then just a doom replica.

The designer's goals were to exceed Doom, which they succeeded in. AB3D were capable of more then the Doom-engine was.

Also, Doom is just a Wolfenstein clone :)

  • @10Shadowblaze01 You know both Doom and Wolfenstein3D are from the same Id Software company, right ? How could they ripoff their own work ?! XD

Anyway, AB3D's engine was better than DooM for sure (just watch the 3D pickable weapons that turn on themselves on the ground! O_O )

  • @xcomcmdr

    That explains so much O_o

  • Since WHEN you can have 2 hours long videos on youtube 0__0 ?!? I remember the time limit is 10 minutes (??)

  • Read the channel FAQ :)

  • Directors have no limit

  • @OvoPiano this question is asked unbeleiveably often (including by be once :P)

  • @OvoPiano no utube limit is 15min

  • Aaah, the nostalgy....

    Thank you so much!

  • GREAT GAME. Greatest fps ever. The atmosphere is just amazing..

  • Any ideas where I could find a longplay vid of Alien Breed 3D I?

  • Same, I want to see it again, but I guess I'll have to use an emulator and cheat codes to do it.

  • Why aren't you looking up and down?

  • I played this game a lot, and for the time

it's a great game, it has so many features

    compaired to doom or such..

  • Very good player. For me that game is too hard, and I must play witch trainer. I think Breathless witch patch 1.1 is better.

  • This game is nice but its just another corridor shooter not like Doom

  • anybody think the howl on those red monsters

sound like they come from the film "an american werewolf in london"?

  • Apparently they are, I've read that elsewhere.

  • I didn't knew that things like that could exist in amiga

  • Sadly, this only exists on WinUAE. Whilst the original was a true retail release by Team 17, no Amiga hardware was capable of such smooth gameplay.

Not only was the Amiga quite a slow computer (not that I'm knocking it, I loved my A1200!), but Team 17 royally screwed up some of the programming, which further slowed down the game.

  • Sure about that? I seem to remember having this run quite comfertably at an accelerated A1200 with a fpu card back in the days. Never completed it though cause at the time I had a pc to play with aswell. The fps games on the pc at the time just dwarfed anything the Amiga could muster. Too bad though. Was a great little machine, not like those blocky pc towers, which still even today is some noisy crap and big as hell, expensive shit too :\

  • A 68040 or 68060 equipped Amiga could achieve playable frame rates at full screen. Nowhere near the smoothness of this video though.

Team 17 did a couple of things wrong, which slowed the frame rate of this game. There was a patch released by a cracking group which resulted in speed increases (moved some data out of chip RAM into fast RAM and aligned the players view to 32 bits instead of 16).

I remember this, because I patched the patch to work with the warez release of the game.

  • Do you think a patch could ever be produced to make it run reasonably smooth at 3/4 screen size on a Blizzard 030@50 ??

  • Never heard of the patch. Thought that t17 made awesome kung fu with this one. Considering the frequency of the processor. Although i have seen some scene work with better kung fu, never thought it could be done in game. Besides if you look at for instance GTA IV a game that makes 10 fps on a 2 ghz computers with 1 GB of memory !!! you know some of now day games need 2 processors on 3 ghz ... Just thought to say that t17 deserves extreme credit for this brilliant work for 50 mhz comp.

  • I remember playing this as a young Oasis fan, the day "Be here now" came out, my dad took me to safeways and bought me the album. I spent the rest of the day listening to it on a portable CD player and playing this. Simpler times.

  • I personally prefer the 2d alien breed games, but each to thir own i guess ^^

    Great vid

  • i luv this channel

  • Great Amiga game, I completed it as well, watching your video makes it look easy!

I remember spending ages trying to get through some of the levels and also trying to design my own.

    Cheers !

  • is most impressive that i thought

  • Another early version of DOOM?

    This one is really good!

  • @steviebond099 Came out way after Doom.

  • Awesome game! Proper envy of my friends with the top whack version :D

Scary as hell when I very first played it.

  • wow this game looks fun
