@simba90s I'm stumped...exactly what animal was the CHICKEN ANCESTOR? And did it propagate the chickens by means of birth or by eggs? All this science, and I can't get a straight answer from anyone!!! Which came first the chickens or the egg? Please, no more red herrings or b.s. I need something simple enough to explain to a 10 y.o. (my nephew). Oh, and some morphing chart showing only one sex doesn't cut it. Except for SpongeBob, which he already knows. Thanks though.
@yamnjam Evolution in one form is the Changing of an animal in response to its environment. For example, you might put on a coat when your cold. An animal might evolve to increase the amount of fat stored naturally by the body (Like a penguin).
Changes in evolution don't happen all at once, and so an animal with a slightly different design than its parents could still mate with the same species as the parents. Take Humans for example, a small and large person can conceive a child.
I agree with this, but there is one thing I do not understand: If the wild natural banana can not exist without humans, then what did they (the bananas) do before humans came along? Or is that to say that the bananas did not exist until after humans got here?
@CygnusMedia wild bananas do exist, just not in the yellow form that you buy from your local markets. It looks quite different, and doesn't taste as good either.
WHAT PROOF IS PROVIDED 4 EVOLUTION???? WORDS, EITHER SPOKEN OR ON A PIECE OF PAPER, SOMEBODY CAN ONLY BELIEVE IN EVOLUTION THRU 100% FAITH, EVOLUTION IS A FAITH BASED RELIGION
NOBODY IN THE FUCKING HISTORY OF MANKIND HAS ANYBODY SEEN AN ANIMAL EVOLVE INTO ANOTHER TYPE OF ANIMAL, AND EVEN THE MEN WHO TEACH EVOLUTION CANNOT DEMONSTRATE IT 4 US AS PROOF
it's funny creationists are always demanding evidence like "show me a monkey giving birth to a man" when this is exactly opposite of what evolution theory states
When they only had fossils of Coelacanths, evolutionist paleontologists put forward a number of Darwinist assumptions regarding them;however, when living examples were found, all these assumptions were shattered.
@1010000010011000 Find one person educated on evolution that says this. Its slow change over large periods of time. NOW go breed a great dane and a teacup naturally and you will see how different characteristics can cause a species to split and not be compatible anymore...you know...the basis of evolutionary theory (change in isolated groups until no longer able to reproduce). Its not one thing birthing another...ever. No one species has ever birthed a different species.
two scientists friends were arguing about the origin of the universe, big bang! said one. His friend invited him to his house, on the table he had a model of the solar system that he had build, when the big bang guy saw it said "wow! who made that?" it is beautiful!, his friend replied. " No one!, there was a BANG! and the thing just appear out of no where!!!, The big bang scientists said "that is ridiculous!!! someone made it!
@Casshyr Not necessarily. Deuteronomy 19:21 tells them to take an eye for an eye. Either reaction follows the Bible. It is, as they say, the Big Book of Multiple Choice.
It not only concerns neutral mutations, it affects *all* mutations, neutral or not. To go with your example, a very beneficial variation in color can be eliminated by drift if the carrier has simply bad luck and doesn't get to reproduce.
It's true that selection improves/hurts the chances of mutations according to their effect on fitness, but to get the big picture, we shouldn't forget selection is like waves in a sea of constant drift.
@ballpythondude97 name one evolutionist who slanders and tasks down to people like you do.name one who isn't just trying to pull the wool from over your eyes and get you to think
@ballpythondude97 excuse me for indicating this, but you and the rest of the flock talk in circles when attempting to answer questions regarding the validity of god.s so called plan.
A straightforward interpretation of the Bible can't be reconciled with evolution and I believe the Bible completely. Therefore I reject evolution and don't need to argue on scientific grounds because there is no contest. Can science ever prove what has happened? Faith in God can be stronger than faith in the current scientific view. Do I need to to argue with evolutionists? If I do I shouldn't make silly claims and my science needs to be well thought out. Believe the Bible its your only hope
@dwmoore1234 Please lord, tell me that @dwmoore1234 is not a teacher. You are correct that the Bible and evolutionary science cannot be reconciled, you just chose the wrong side if you want to understand reality. You chose superstition over evidence.
"A straightforward interpretation of the Bible can't be reconciled with evolution and I believe the Bible completely."
Apart from all the things you want to deny in the bible.
Or are you going to tell me the 6000 year old bowl/plate shaped world, sits on pillars, doesnt move, as the sun travells around and will last forever? or is it those things you are happy to deny are in the bible but evolution you dont want too?
Denying the truth to pretend your baseless belief is true, just shows you have no grounds for your baseless belief.
Dont forget to kill fortune tellers and have your disobediant children stoned to death as the bible says and to kill homosexuals as your bible commands!
@dwmoore1234 Only hope for what? Are you saying that all people who don't believe in the bible are condemned to a fiery eternity of pain in Hell? That is ridiculous. What about the children? We are all born without religion, so why would your ''omnipotent, omniscient' God have babies born in a country of different religion, thus damning them to hell when they grow up without any knowledge of the bible or christianity at all?
Listen guys, I don't believe in God because evolution does not make sense. Me believing in God is a matter of Faith and experience. I actually have to teach the kids in my classroom about evolution, I do it the best I can. Love teaching math, it just makes sense!.
@VidaYVerdad Evolution makes total sense. It only doesn't make sense to you because you hold a prior bias towards God, or more specifically, a particular characteristic of God (i.e. creationism). Any more educated theist like William Craig, Michael Behe, Francis Collin will all tell you that God and evolution can co-exist.
There are 6800 and more genetic diseases caused by deleterious mutations, because there is no other kind of mutation.
READ TWICE: We know they are screwed up DNA coding because we can see the original fit condition in people who do not have the particular disease. Read AGAIN and again.
That means there is only genetic degradation shown in ALL the absolutely irrefutable physical evidence.
There is no evolution from simple towards complex.
school never got me interested in science, but now that i'm almost finished university for criminal justice and public policy/ philosophy and I've been reading Dawkins work I wish I took it more seriously when I had the chance... I'm more interested in law though, so I hope to help support secular policy and proper education, make sure creationism remains a bad joke in Canada
@dopeasfuckk you just proved how ignorant and apathetic evolutionists are. you think that it is impossible that you are wrong, and that kids should only hear about evolution, so they can't make up their own minds about what they believe, because you cram it down their throats like it is fact, when it actually isn't. I'm not saying all evolutionists are ignorant and apathetic, but most are. all I'm saying is that you should respect other peoples beliefs, and let them decide.
@ballpythondude97 actually, no legit scientists will ever tell you evolution theory is a fact. What you gotta understand is there is facts of evolution (which you can think of as micro-evolution), and then there is evolution theory (which you can think of as macro-evolution) that is built based on facts of evolution. Nobody is saying evolution theory is 100% correct, no chance to be wrong. The definition of scientific theory itself is that it can be updated and refined, as new evidence comes in.
@ballpythondude97 And regarding respect other people's beliefs, we're already doing that. You can learn about creationism at your local churches, or make videos about it, or spread pamphlets in public. That's all respect! But if you push that into public school, then you are crossing the line because we live in a democratic country and majority don't want that in public school. Don't like it? Well, you can always leave this country lol (no offence).
@Casshyr That is no excuse to not let children hear about creation in public schools. to fire someone because they pray or say something about God. or to give someone a detention because they brought a BIBLE. And I said they teach it LIKE it is a fact. (I do appreciate that you speak to me like a civilized human being.) The chances of evolution are so slim, less likely than a tornado going through a plane junkyard and creating a Boeing 747, also the earth isn't billions of years old.
@ballpythondude97 But that is also my point: we DON'T teach evolution theory like a fact. The very definition of scientific theory is already clear: it's not a fact. If kids choose to think it's a fact, then that's their problem, not the education system. I'm not a creationist, but I have no problem acknowledging that evolution theory is not a fact. You seem to have a problem with ppl treating it as a fact, and blame it on education system, but education system is not to blame here.
@ballpythondude97 "The chances of evolution are so slim, less likely than a tornado going through a plane junkyard and creating a Boeing 747, also the earth isn't billions of years old." => lol that's your opinion, not supported by any peer-reviewed scientific evidence. So you are also doing what you yourself hate (i.e. talking as if it's a fact when it's not). Hypocrisy goes both ways lol.
Here's a question for the 'anti-evolutionists' why would a god bestow the gift of life upon a species then HANG THE APPLE OF KNOWLEDGE on a tree and say HEY you better not eat that because it will make you smart... then turn its back and wait to see what happens... this to me implies that a god behaving in this manner actually wanted us to question everything we see instead of just taking things for granted and getting hosed.
@lSd3d Hey everyone! Please join us on February 12, Darwin's birthday, for a mass burning of his terrorist manifesto, Origin of Species.
No other text has been so anti-American, pro-terror, anti-Christian ideals as this one. Let's show the world that Americans denounce Darwin, and all other communists and pedophiles on February 12!
@HomleandSecurity In honesty denying Dawrin's theory of evolution is a self fulfilling prophecy, because to do so you have to be an idiot, thus making it seem improbable natural selection is taking place if said idiots exist.
@lSd3d God did this because he wanted us to have the free will of choosing for ourselves to disobey. Adam and Eve made a bad decision. And according to you shouldn't the government lock everyone up so no one can commit a crime? well, they don't because they want us to have the free will to make a decision ourselves, and if we make the wrong decision we are punished. And God didn't want us to question everything.
@lSd3d The platypus bears no significance to the crocoduck argument. It only shares a similarity to the seemingly bizarre looks of the illustrations used in this video. What's your point exactly?
Evolutionists referring to the banana are, in fact referring to plantains which are mainly cultivated in Central America where the presumably most recent ancient cultures populated and thrived. The problem lies in both sides of the table trying to refute and talk over the other. Lets stop all the petty bs and agree to disagree then see if a common grey area can be established for things neither side can explain to reside in. Then each side can go back to defending its initial position.
@lSd3d Evolutionists (aka rational people) have no problem admitting there are holes in which we don't know for sure how certain things happened. We have no problem saying "we don't know" for certain parts of the theory in which we have yet to find sufficient evidence to support. But creationists exploit this to say "aha, look, you can't explain this, therefore God did it!". They are the ones who are ignorant. It is perfectly ok to say "i don't know, i'll wait until more evidence comes".
@Casshyr glad to see someone understands how the game is being played... you can't disprove god, so you should just accept that all of the things that don'e make any sense are all just sorted out under the 'plan' and you should never strive to obtain any higher enlightenment that rivals that of a humble sheep. I think its disgusting that so many people with perfectly good brains are just letting them idle because its EASIER to have faith than it is to question things for yourself
@Casshyr Really? Look at the previous 4 pages. Supercrasher isn't mature enough to have a sensible discussion. He rejects every explanation you throw at him, ignores all facts & arguments, then states his belief as 100% fact without giving any consideration to any previous responses. I merely asked for his justification and he responds non sensically. It should be quite clear who the troll is.
@HolyEggRollys I am %100 sure that GOD made us in his own image and likeness not stupid APES come on people wake up the world today as we know it is polluting our minds with all this trash talk about APES and EVOLUTION.
reading the trash book called the bible would educated you as much as reading the three little pig fairy tale. At least the story of the three little pigs has a good moral story.
Buddha wasn't a god even consider by Buddhism he was suppose to be a "enlightened man" full name is Siddhārtha Gautama , you wonder why you get mocked?
Maybe cause you say shit before you think.... if thinking is possible.
@TheSuperCRASHer Evolution is happening right now, viruses and disease are evolving this very moment to overpower our vaccines and cures. Also wake up, if God were real there'd be no world hunger, disease, wars or death. And come on now! Noah's ark? That my friend is one of the reasons that says God is bullshit. Adam and Eve? But isn't God meant to love and forgive those no matter what? God is a made up fairy tale created in the period of time when humans believed in all that magical stuff...
@magmablood2 God created the flood and washed away everything because there was too much sin and filth on this earth.Noah's Ark is real if you don't believe it look in the Bible or Baltimore Catechism.
And it says that the flat earth sits on pillars which hold it up from falling into the infinite waters below, and that above the earth is a crystal dome onto which the stars are physically painted, and that the dome has windows in it which god can open or shut to let in the infinite waters above that fill all of space and flood the world.
So that uh... doesn't really make you look BETTER, mate.
I would rather accept theirs and invisible man living in the sky who gives Aids to baby's how could of I possibly come from a monkey who over hundreds of thousands of years and slightly changes appearance, walks upright so it can run faster and watch out for predators which enables it to survive and breed, figure out that living in groups is beneficial, the group becomes large so they must form simple communication to survive which gets complex and leads to more social and larger groups over t
@TheSuperCRASHer Damn, you must be so much more smarter. Enlighten me with your biblical knowledge. Oh wait...a moronic troll can't be taken seriously.
@HolyEggRollys HAHAHA!!! you make me laugh [a moronic troll] your dumb. Evolution is just something a stupid guy or people made up cause they have no knowledge and they don,t believe in God.
@TheSuperCRASHer Theories are not just suppositions people come up with because they thought about a subject a lot.
Theories are the result of observation, and based on extensive knowledge.
Evolution is a scientific THEORY. Theories are supported by MILLIONS of independently verifiable FACTS. To deny evolution is to deny all of those facts and the hundreds of scientific techniques used to observe them.
@TheSuperCRASHer So your choosing to believe an ancient fairy tale with absolutely no proof rather than widely accepted facts with overwhelming amounts of evidence? Yup, makes perfect sense.
@JSPgamer Well then if you think your smarter then me how come you dont you see a fucking APE giving birth to a human ANSWER ME THAT.believe what you want I will never believe what anybody says about Evolution.
@nugget9002 this depends. Creatures don't just evolve randomly. They evolve according to the environment. Take crocodiles. They've been around since dinosaurs, and they basically remain unchanged over millions of years because they are good at what they do. They don't need to change dramatically to adapt to what they are already very good at doing. Humans are very good at doing what they do...so my guess is we won't change much (biologically speaking that is, socially for sure)
I kinda did read the BIBLE. It was forced on us in school. Im just curious about your statement. if God created man in his image and the first men were black then logical deduction says hes a homey. white europeans are basically a melonin mutation evolved through prolonged cold weather conditions, similarly middle eastern, asian (chinese have slanted eyes for a reason, look it up) and so on ..all genetic mutations spiraling outward from the cradle of civilisation. AFRICA,
Also just another query, what does it say in the bible about other earth like planets being discovered eg kepler 22b and glises? these planets more than likely hold water and therefore have massive potential to concoct beings like us or vegetation. i like stories, old stories, but i cant have faith in something that was said by people living 2000. theres enough idiots on the planet now. can u imagine the trolls back 2k years ago
@THEBURDE God gave us a soul not the animals and God created the first parents Adam and Eve for more info go to Baltimore Catechism.look it up man Im telling you were not Evolution.
The concept of a "soul" is an out-dated bronze age idea, neuroscience explains that our consciousness iS our brain function, everything that we are is part of our brain function- the "soul" does not exist. It baffles me how people can believe in the creation story, talking snakes and whatnot, what a load of tripe.
@TheSuperCRASHer How can you call others stupid, you're saying that YOU are smarter than scientists that spend there entire lives studying the subject. You are smarter than Stephen Hawking then? Okay.. Well why don't you contribute instead of blaring your unwanted ignorant voice.
I wouldn't waste my time looking it up, its boring, pointless, and, absolute rubbish. also give me your best example of evolution to prove to me that evolution is a scientific law. soon science will learn the truth about evolution. they once believed not so long ago that certain races were more "evolved", than others. they said, "oh I know we've been wrong, but now we know". They later realized that all races were just as "evolved" as any other race. wrong again, they will be wrong yet again.
@ballpythondude97 Evolution isn't a scientific law, and it probably wont be. You have to remember what the scientific method is; gathering empirical evidence and reasoning to suggest hypotheses. Because evolution has insurmountable amounts of evidence, and I mean COPIOUS amounts of evidence, we can't quiet replicate something that takes millions of years in the lab instantly yet (Although, we're seeing characteristics of micro evolution already). Gravity & relativity are theories, too - for now.
There is a new evidence for evolution concerning the transition from single-cell to multicellularity. Look up "evolution multicellularity" on google news. Hurray for science!
I just don't see how something as complex as the human brain can evolve from something like the brain of an ape, because of the environment. And no I don't believe in god/religion.
@ModernStudios00 Humans did not evolve directly from apes. Take some time to study the various human ancestors and remember it took place over millions of years. Google 'human evolution'.
@ModernStudios00 By the way, apes are pretty smart. They have language, culture, emotions, the ability to learn, etc. Just in different ways and to different extents than humans.
@x2x3456 And so is gravity. And plate tectonics. A theory in science is the highest form of understanding because it has been tested, retested and retested. One could easily say the "Law of Evolution" and be accurate.
@x2x3456 There's a clear distinction here. Evolution has evidence (mounds of it), religion does not. The word "theory" means something different to a scientist than it does to most people. Theories are ideas with clear evidence that have been tested repeatedly and peer reviewed and have been shown to hold true. The existence of god is not a theory, it has no evidence and cannot be tested. There's good reasons for why people should listen to scientists instead of first century books.
@DryBones60 Ok ; I kind of get your point but i think you dont get mine. People automatically believe a scientist just because of his profession. Most people dont conduct the test but yet they believe. Also , how do you know these 'tests' are wright ? What prove do you have that these tests actually work ?
@x2x3456 The "proof" is in the method. If a scientists conducts tests riddled with bias and inaccuracy and still manages to get published, his mistakes will be quickly found by the scientific community. There is literally an international body of people who dedicate their lives to knowledge that will be looking at how he did his experiment, finding every problem they can with it, and redoing his tests trying to find out if he was accurate.
@x2x3456 We know that we can rely on results that have been put through the scientific method because it is how we've come up with every advancement we've ever had in our time on this earth. It's a process that tries to eliminate bias and eliminate bad ideas in favor of good ideas; and it works. Not everyone can be a scientist. But you can look at the work of scientists and examine the evidence for yourself. If you examine the bible in the same way, it starts to look pretty silly.
@DryBones60 So everyday people can relate to the big bang theory ? No ; so why beleive ? Its just as silly as creating the world in 7 days ! Also , It doesent really make sense how all life came from 1 single cell ! just because something is far-fecthed doesent mean its not true.
@x2x3456 "So everyday people can relate to the big bang theory ? No ; so why beleive ? Its just as silly as creating the world in 7 days !" I suggest you take the time to learn what the evidences backing up the big bang theory are before you attempt to discredit it with this type of comment. Saying this only demonstrates your ignorance of cosmology.
This short video gives a primer into this evidence. Enjoy:
@x2x3456 "Also , It doesent really make sense how all life came from 1 single cell !" It's a good thing no biologist, anywhere, claims that it did! Nor does the governing theory of all biology (evolution) say that either. Evolution works on the level of reproducing populations, not individuals. It is true that the vast majority of modern lifeforms can trace their ancestry to a single ancestral species, but that is not the same thing as "from 1 single cell" as your straw man says.
@x2x3456 You don't have to believe, no one is making you. But if you care about the what is true and how things really work, then your best bet is to follow science that is backed by thousands of great modern minds dedicating their lives to finding answers as opposed to subscribing to one of the many god stories that have quite clearly been engineered by superstitious early men that didn't have access to the knowledge that we have today.
@x2x3456 I agree with you though that just because something is far-fetched, that doesn't mean it's not true. However, for me to believe something that is far-fetched, it better have quite a lot of evidence to back it up and convince me. Evolution has that evidence and the big bang has quite a lot of evidence in itself. And really when you take time to learn the subjects, they don't seem very far-fetched anymore.
@BoredInfidel I think yamnjam is a troll. I already made a big huge long list of how sex evolved and this person didn't reply and now i see he/she is doing the same thing all over again, and still with the reference to his "nephew" + "spongebob". Ignore him.
@DebunkingEvolution Yeah, except there is none. If God is defined by the Bible, the Bible can't be evidence for God. After all, Spider-man is defined by his comic books, but the comic books can't be evidence for Spider-man.
Most of the world now believes evolution, well most of the world believed it was flat, also that certain races are less evolved than others, that Piltdown Man was legitimate, so as you can see, just because most people believe it, it isn't always true.
@ballpythondude97 You do realize it was evolutionary biologists who debunked Piltdown Man, right? It actually DIDN'T FIT with the theory, which is why they became suspicious.
Also, no, there is no evidence that most of the world ever believed the world was flat.
"Evolution" is not concerned with the facts. The limited directives in the genome are the only things that ever reorganize the genome. Natural selection can only select what is reorganized by the limited directives in the genome.
Your fantasy is getting the best of you. Objects do not make or refine what you are.
@JungleJargon There is no such thing as "limited directives in the genome." The genome is a large molecule. If the molecule changes, new behavior and effects can emerge.
@ballpythondude97 Let me answer your questions and educate you a bit shall I? The reason you have never heard of a cross between a human or an ape is the same reason you never hear of a crocoduck. Humans did NOT evolve from an ape you see at the zoo but a related ancestor many years ago. Its true the ancestor would have looked alot...
continuing my statement about dogs remaining dogs, why have we never found a cross between apes and humans or between any other animals, all of the ones we have found are not real they are either faked (piltdown man) or assume way to much or in nebraska man's case they built a whole skull from 1 tooth, one tooth. that is just sad, Darwin came up with the idea of evolution while looking at small birds on an island and didn't believe his own theory when he died.
@pyr666 I have. and about the spiral galaxies, the stars near the middle rotate faster than the ones near the outside, so if the universe were billions of years old they would be blobs not spirals. and the animal thing breed dogs for the rest of your life and see if you can create a new breed or a new animal, it won't be worth your time. also give me your best examples of a cross between apes and humans.
well you have some problems, first in your dog example, dogs remain what through all of your examples, dogs, monkeys are monkeys, cats remain cats, etc. also about the millions of years thing, you get your earth age by dating methods which are highly inaccurate, they assume way too much. they dated rocks from Mt. St. Hellens to 270,000 to 3.5 million years old. also if the universe is billions of years old look at the spiral galaxies, they are still spirals.
@ballpythondude97 " they dated rocks from Mt. St. Hellens to 270,000 to 3.5 million years old."
"They" being creationists who intentionally used a scale that only measures a few tens of thousands of years. This is like measuring the length of a football field with a 12-inch ruler and estimating beyond the end of the ruler.
OK, not concerned w/the origins or development of the universe. Cool. Can anyone, ANYONE, explain in a way that a dummy like me can understand how evolution explains how this lovely bird of paradise came to be male and female? It seems elementary, but how did it go from primordial soup, to organisms, to reproducing males and females of at least hundreds of thousands of varieties. Call me crazy, but nothing can evolve if it cannot reproduce. Which came first, the chickens or the egg? Must be two.
@simba90s So chickens never existed? I guess I ate a nonexistent dish today. Twas not chicken. They never came to be. This is not some rhetorical question, just a literal, elementary one. If you cannot answer it, just say so. But don't say something ridiculous like neither chickens nor eggs never existed. I have way more respect for a person that says "I don't know" than a person who claims to know it all. Sorry if I don't take your scientific, logical answer.

Eggs. Animals were laying eggs long before the chicken's ancestor evolved.

FreelanceProgrammer 55 minutes ago
@yamnjam Chicken vs. Egg is irrelevant. In all likelyhood since birth via egg is more common it is most likely that the egg came first.
(Animal Parent to Chicken) -> Egg - >Chicken. (In simple terms)
But the process didn't happen overnight, it would have taken many generations for the chicken you know today to be commonplace.

About genetic drift. 02:45

@VidaYVerdad Evolution makes total sense. It only doesn't make sense to you because you hold a prior bias towards God, or more specifically, a particular characteristic of God (i.e. creationism).
There is no evolution from simple towards complex.

dopeasfuckk 1 week ago
@dopeasfuckk you just proved how ignorant and apathetic evolutionists are. you think that it is impossible that you are wrong, and that kids should only hear about evolution, so they can't make up their own minds about what they believe, because you cram it down their throats like it is fact, when it actually isn't. I'm not saying all evolutionists are ignorant and apathetic, but most are. all I'm saying is that you should respect other peoples beliefs, and let them decide.
ballpythondude97 6 days ago
@ballpythondude97 actually, no legit scientists will ever tell you evolution theory is a fact. What you gotta understand is there is facts of evolution (which you can think of as micro-evolution), and then there is evolution theory (which you can think of as macro-evolution) that is built based on facts of evolution. Nobody is saying evolution theory is 100% correct, no chance to be wrong. The definition of scientific theory itself is that it can be updated and refined, as new evidence comes in.
Casshyr 6 days ago
@ballpythondude97 And regarding respect other people's beliefs, we're already doing that. You can learn about creationism at your local churches, or make videos about it, or spread pamphlets in public. That's all respect! But if you push that into public school, then you are crossing the line because we live in a democratic country and majority don't want that in public school. Don't like it? Well, you can always leave this country lol (no offence).
Casshyr 6 days ago
@Casshyr That is no excuse to not let children hear about creation in public schools. to fire someone because they pray or say something about God. or to give someone a detention because they brought a BIBLE. And I said they teach it LIKE it is a fact. (I do appreciate that you speak to me like a civilized human being.) The chances of evolution are so slim, less likely than a tornado going through a plane junkyard and creating a Boeing 747, also the earth isn't billions of years old.
ballpythondude97 6 days ago
@ballpythondude97 But that is also my point: we DON'T teach evolution theory like a fact. The very definition of scientific theory is already clear: it's not a fact. If kids choose to think it's a fact, then that's their problem, not the education system. I'm not a creationist, but I have no problem acknowledging that evolution theory is not a fact. You seem to have a problem with ppl treating it as a fact, and blame it on education system, but education system is not to blame here.
Casshyr 6 days ago
@ballpythondude97 "The chances of evolution are so slim, less likely than a tornado going through a plane junkyard and creating a Boeing 747, also the earth isn't billions of years old." => lol that's your opinion, not supported by any peer-reviewed scientific evidence.

Then each side can go back to defending its initial position.
lSd3d 1 week ago
@lSd3d Evolutionists (aka rational people) have no problem admitting there are holes in which we don't know for sure how certain things happened. We have no problem saying "we don't know" for certain parts of the theory in which we have yet to find sufficient evidence to support. But creationists exploit this to say "aha, look, you can't explain this, therefore God did it!". They are the ones who are ignorant. It is perfectly ok to say "i don't know, i'll wait until more evidence comes".

Evolution is a theory ; just like the existence of god ! So i hate that people automatically listen to a scientist but ignore religion ! Biased
x2x3456 2 weeks ago
@x2x3456 And so is gravity. And plate tectonics. A theory in science is the highest form of understanding because it has been tested, retested and retested. One could easily say the "Law of Evolution" and be accurate.
noonespecial2001 2 weeks ago
@x2x3456 There's a clear distinction here. Evolution has evidence (mounds of it), religion does not. The word "theory" means something different to a scientist than it does to most people. Theories are ideas with clear evidence that have been tested repeatedly and peer reviewed and have been shown to hold true. The existence of god is not a theory, it has no evidence and cannot be tested. There's good reasons for why people should listen to scientists instead of first century books.
DryBones60 2 weeks ago
@DryBones60 Ok ; I kind of get your point but i think you dont get mine. People automatically believe a scientist just because of his profession. Most people dont conduct the test but yet they believe. Also , how do you know these 'tests' are wright ? What prove do you have that these tests actually work ?
x2x3456 2 weeks ago
@x2x3456 The "proof" is in the method. If a scientists conducts tests riddled with bias and inaccuracy and still manages to get published, his mistakes will be quickly found by the scientific community. There is literally an international body of people who dedicate their lives to knowledge that will be looking at how he did his experiment, finding every problem they can with it, and redoing his tests trying to find out if he was accurate.
DryBones60 2 weeks ago
@x2x3456 We know that we can rely on results that have been put through the scientific method because it is how we've come up with every advancement we've ever had in our time on this earth. It's a process that tries to eliminate bias and eliminate bad ideas in favor of good ideas; and it works. Not everyone can be a scientist. But you can look at the work of scientists and examine the evidence for yourself. If you examine the bible in the same way, it starts to look pretty silly.
DryBones60 2 weeks ago
@DryBones60 So everyday people can relate to the big bang theory ? No ; so why beleive ? Its just as silly as creating the world in 7 days ! Also , It doesent really make sense how all life came from 1 single cell ! just because something is far-fecthed doesent mean its not true.

@x2x3456 "Also , It doesent really make sense how all life came from 1 single cell !" It's a good thing no biologist, anywhere, claims that it did! Nor does the governing theory of all biology (evolution) say that either. Evolution works on the level of reproducing populations, not individuals. It is true that the vast majority of modern lifeforms can trace their ancestry to a single ancestral species, but that is not the same thing as "from 1 single cell" as your straw man says.
lhvinny 2 weeks ago
@x2x3456 You don't have to believe, no one is making you. But if you care about the what is true and how things really work, then your best bet is to follow science that is backed by thousands of great modern minds dedicating their lives to finding answers as opposed to subscribing to one of the many god stories that have quite clearly been engineered by superstitious early men that didn't have access to the knowledge that we have today.
DryBones60 2 weeks ago
@x2x3456 I agree with you though that just because something is far-fetched, that doesn't mean it's not true. However, for me to believe something that is far-fetched, it better have quite a lot of evidence to back it up and convince me. Evolution has that evidence and the big bang has quite a lot of evidence in itself. And really when you take time to learn the subjects, they don't seem very far-fetched anymore.

JungleJargon 2 weeks ago
@JungleJargon There is no such thing as "limited directives in the genome." The genome is a large molecule. If the molecule changes, new behavior and effects can emerge.
BoredInfidel 2 weeks ago
@BoredInfidel The limited directives made you what you are.

TheJokerVideosTJV 2 weeks ago
@CR7xDBZxMETALLICA Wow! And you think that humans aren't animals or what?

2 things i want to say
1. Atheists, evolutionists, vegetarians and idiots always come in the same shitty package the I DONT KNOW WHY NOT people
2. Only animals and POKEMONS evolve

continuing my statement about dogs remaining dogs, why have we never found a cross between apes and humans or between any other animals, all of the ones we have found are not real they are either faked (piltdown man) or assume way to much or in nebraska man's case they built a whole skull from 1 tooth, one tooth. that is just sad, Darwin came up with the idea of evolution while looking at small birds on an island and didn't believe his own theory when he died.

@ballpythondude97
im sorry, you have too much misinformation.
go do some real research.
pyr666 2 weeks ago
@pyr666 I have. and about the spiral galaxies, the stars near the middle rotate faster than the ones near the outside, so if the universe were billions of years old they would be blobs not spirals. and the animal thing breed dogs for the rest of your life and see if you can create a new breed or a new animal, it won't be worth your time. also give me your best examples of a cross between apes and humans.
ballpythondude97 2 weeks ago
@ballpythondude97
in order:
"so if the universe were billions of years old they would be blobs not spirals"
if you're completely oblivious of density wave theory, sure
speciation is an observed phenomena. though new breeds of dog are hilariously easy to make as they don't even take speciation to make happen.
"cross between apes and humans."
you mean transitional fossils? there are droves of the damn things.
pyr666 2 weeks ago
@ballpythondude97 "the stars near the middle rotate faster than the ones near the outside"
This is actually not true. The spiral arms are manifestations of spiral density waves. These maintain the structure and affect the speed of rotation.
"breed dogs for the rest of your life and see if you can create a new breed or a new animal, it won't be worth your time"
Animals of that size would require thousands of years. Bacteria on the other hand - we do that WEEKLY.

well you have some problems, first in your dog example, dogs remain what through all of your examples, dogs, monkeys are monkeys, cats remain cats, etc. also about the millions of years thing, you get your earth age by dating methods which are highly inaccurate, they assume way too much. they dated rocks from Mt. St. Hellens to 270,000 to 3.5 million years old. also if the universe is billions of years old look at the spiral galaxies, they are still spirals.
ballpythondude97 2 weeks ago

Must be two.
yamnjam 3 weeks ago
@yamnjam "which came first, chickens or the egg?" none of them.
simba90s 3 weeks ago
@simba90s So chickens never existed? I guess I ate a nonexistent dish today. Twas not chicken. They never came to be. This is not some rhetorical question, just a literal, elementary one. If you cannot answer it, just say so. But don't say something ridiculous like neither chickens nor eggs never existed. I have way more respect for a person that says "I don't know" than a person who claims to know it all. Sorry if I don't take your scientific, logical answer.

« But don't say something ridiculous like neither chickens nor eggs never existed »
He didn't say that. Learn to read. He said that neither was really first.
On the other hand, if the choice is between chicken and egg, then the choice is egg: eggs existed long before the first birds ever evolved.
