This is on an Emulator. An emulator is basically a program that lets you play console games on your computer. So yeah its on the computer.

I have the SNES one. I got it for christmas back in the mid 90's. It came with the official player's guide, but oddly enough no instruction booklet! Earthbound is one of my favorite RPG's of all time.

I think that the original copies that were released here(North America) just had the game and instructions, just like every other game, but they later released it in a huge colorful box along with the player's guide. I remember seeing a shelf in either Wal-mart or K-mart that was in a spot where nobody could miss it, and it had only those Earthbound game boxes on it. They advertised this game like crazy because didn't think it would do well here without the extra help, but sadly it didn't work.

No Actually it's just some weird shortenings of the words of the word because if you read a few of them carefully you can actually understand some of it, but what i was talking about is someone released a patch for the Earthbound ROM with a rewritten debug menu that's easier to understand

The "weird code screen" in your video is actually another debug menu in Earthbound! I prefer that one because if you know how to use it it's really funny.

I learned how to use it using the Threed tent cornor glitch.

If you do it enough, you can access that menu without that code.

Here's a quick rundown.

P Is return

The one under it I think alters level

Under that alters NPC and ATM

Under that Is STATUS.

I know for certain that SUND is sound testing.

There are variable skips that take you to certain parts of the game and so on.

the weird code screen is actually the APE. Inc debug menu. The one you found is the Hal labs one, which explains the odd appearance of kirby.

I used the code in the video... But It justs made the game glitchy...

for ZSNES you can use GG codes, PAR codes and Some other code... it tells you on the cheats part o.o

Hal owns the Mother series. Hal alsmo makes Kirby. This is why Kirby is the cursor sprite. They probably didn't think anyone would ever find this debug menu. And it's not a glitch since you can't get it without a cheat. It's simply a debug menu you were never meant to see.

Yeah i realized this after I made it i was like....DAMN! I know it's not a glitch, but it looks glitchy....It could trick some people (shifty eyes).

The reason there is a Kirby sprite is most likely because HAL made this debugging glitch, so they used Kirby (since they knew it was going to get to the public).
