@Jeannekm126 I am glad that you like him too. I plan to make videos about most of his leading ladies, so he will be in some of them too. Thank you for your nice comments.
Wonderful pics! And you put them together so beautifully, Ellen. Isn't that one with the swedish sphinx Garbo from the movie "Susan Lenox"? And wasn't he married with the Lombard, at least for a while?Lana and Ava; are'nt they just adorable? Both gorgeous women! And CG was so ...so masculine+handsome! But to COUNT ON him?No. I always liked the fact that he was not as predictable as people sometimes think!:-) Thank you for sharing this Ellen. 100 shiny stars to you! (sorry for my engl.)
I am not sure which picture looks like Greta Garbo yet. I did get confused, because sometimes only Gable's name was with the picture. I guess that I need to work on a Greta Garbo video too. But I did find out that they were in the movie Susan Lenox together.
We could count on Clark Gable to be a good leading man in the movies. Yes, Gable was married to Carole Lombard. I did a video about her too. She died in a tragic airplane crash during WWII.
I like the music too. Be sure to look at my video The Can't Take That Away from Me. That video has pictures from my prior videos made this year, kind of like my video yearbook.
I remember when I was just a young whippersnapper and the movie, "Gone With The Wind" came out. The young girls and ladies would ooh and ah about Clark and his SHOULDERS, of all things. Quite an actor and box office attraction, he was. For some reason, I liked "Teacher's Pet" and "It Happened One Night" as well as any of his other movies. LOLL!!!
When I make these videos, I realize that I really have not seen that many of the movies of the older movie stars. For Clark Gable, I think that I have only seen Gone with the Wind and The Misfits. Thank you for mentioning the ones you liked.
Great! Because of this video, I also did the one on Carole Lombard. I plan to do something on the other leading ladies later. The waiting list is getting long.
What a beautiful tribute to Clark Gable and his glamorous leading ladies and to the "Golden Age Of Hollywood".Beautiful pictures that bring with it many memorable moments in the movies of a time long ago. Thank you Ellen for posting.
Yes, his leading ladies were all beautiful. I am glad that you liked the song. I was going to choose another song, but I think the song I chose was very sweet and sentimental.
Thank you for your nice remarks! He was in so many movies I have never seen. I want to watch more of his movies. I have seen Gone With the Wind and The Misfits, and that might be it.
He was in so many movies, that I did not use all the co star pictures. There were a couple of actresses I am not familiar with, before my time, so I have not used their pictures. Plus they changed hair color and appearance, so I would get confused, now who is this one? I will figure out who they are later. Thank you for viewing.
When i think of Clark I think of Carole, they are just one in spirit and soul. this song is just so beautiful. In my playlist now. he was devasted when she died in a plane crash. It was very sad.
He really was in a lot of movies that I do not know much about, before my time. But everybody knows about Gone With the Wind, and his wife Carole Lombard. I loved making this one, so many pictures that it was hard to choose.
What is the picture from at 1:36? I love it.
