I have been tuning it myself. Its a pretty conservative tune right now and im currently maxing out the stock maf since its only rated at 300 hp. Im pickin up a ford lightning maf since its good for 700hp and nistune accepts it.
Yea, i read about that lightning maf. I was just wondering how much did the whole ecu and the nistune board cost, did you also have to get the nistune license? im planning on running the z32 ecu but im still like a fish out of the water.
I got the type 2 board lisence and consult cable and the board installed for $505. I got it from autovaughn performance out of tennassee. He installs them and garentees they work. It was only $10 more to have him install it. So why not yah kno. He will answer all your questions. I am running the innovate lc-1 wideband and the nistune reads it so you can do data logs and se what your afr is through out the powerband.
Not if the tuner bought the "tuner liscense." I seriously doubt you'll find a tuner that tunes enough nistune setups to warrant buying the liscense, unless you live in Austrailia. You can run calumRT on the nistune board, but you won't beable to datalog locally. You can datalog through the consult port using datascan, conzult, etc. I'd just buy the nistune software, it's pretty nice to be able to do everything in one program.
Nissan ecus aren't very hard to tune in general. You have to adjust the injector constant (K value), change your tp scales, scale your ttp min, etc. Nistune has a very nice write up on there website and a free software trial. You should check it out.
The nistune write up tells how to tune a nissan ecu, and it goes into much more detail than I can do here. In my initial reply I put you can run CalumRT, but that was a mistake lol. I meant you can use tunerproRT software(free) on the nistune board. It's final week and my head is a little scrambled.

Oh cool, did you have to pay for the nistune software though? and is it hard to tune the car by yourself with good mechanical skills?
bohdanko90 2 years ago
Yeah u have to buy the software. And its just like any other standalone
dbikeriderkid88 2 years ago
one more thing i wanted to ask you. Do you have to buy the software if you go to get it tuned by a tuner that tunes those ECUs?
