This is one of my favorite movies. Its so beautifully done and so gritty that it gives off the right vibe about dedicating your life to the arts and about new york. Its not airbrushed and glamourous like the stupid remake. I couldnt sit through 20 minutes of that crap.

The new version is done by Disney, so of course disney is gonna make it a wattered down, safe version, high school musical type of crap. Disney should just stick to cartoons..lol

The 1980 version is the version to see, if you want to see the real Fame movie, and how it really should be done!!!!

The new one is so Disney. The old one showed the heart renching reality of trying to make it as an artist in the entertainment business, the mental & physical pain of just making it into the main pack never mind getting a job after. The kids go through hardship - the one one, it's all roses & smiles. :-(=

I loved this movie ! I watched it yesterday in fact . I think the 2009 version will never come into comparison with the 1980 's version . This is because then , you had to sing perfectly to get in that movie , now , you have to be a Disney channel star . A lot has changed since then .

For some reason, the cinematogrraphy, or maybe it's the lighting, or the sets, whatever it is. . . This clip . . . of this movie remindes me of hill Street Blues.I used to watch it sometimes when I was a kid. this oringal 1980 classic is so underrated. The first 'modern' film or TV show(i know it was both lol) that dealt with serious real world issues years before Degrassi, 90210 and others in that genre.

Again what wrong with Hollywood and this remake crap? From "pelham 1-2-3'(very disappointed)to several others in last few years of classic films of the 1970's and 80's.

I dont mind remakes if done right, but i am sure the '09 version of Fame will not even touch the floor to this 1980 classic.
