  • so is it official? will LAPD be using the caprice over the ford torturous excuse me (taurus)

  • The Caprice PPV is an excellent car desgined exclusively for the US Police force. In Australia, our Police use something similar called the Commodore SS which is a Pontiac G8. They are pretty much muscle cars for the Police forces and the cops love them as they have got plenty of power, space and handle exceptionally well. Pity Ford Australia have not jumped on the US band-wagon as the XR8, XR6 turbo, FPV GT & Typhoon are just as good (although not quite as big) and would be equally welcomed.

  • A cop without a mustache? I call bullshit :)

  • Actually the number plate reader will pick up everything...it is based on the NSW Police in Australia system. The Police can place warnings on a vehicle and when the PPV number plate reader reads the plate it will come up with an alert to tell teh Police officer, this warning could relate to anything from unpaid tickets, warrants for people who might travel in or own the vehicle, firearms in the vehicle, drug runners (and so on...). They are a great tool for Police to have..

  • @davochen had them in england for years

  • @davochen its been in england for years mate

  • This was mostly filmed a 100 Los Angeles St. At PAB (Police Administrative Building) AKA Police Headquarters. I went there. I am a Los Angeles Police Cadet.

  • @MUFCinsalford The LPR system has been in the states for years too. Go have another riot.

  • not made in usa....POS

  • @TommyChevyBugle its made in australia, so its better. an american made one wouldve been absolute crap.

  • @TommyChevyBugle So BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Land Rover, Ferrari, Lexus, Infiniti etc must all be POS then?

  • @TommyChevyBugle Correct they aren't made in the USA. But the Caprice is a very good car. My local Sheriff's Office got one in August as a demo car to see if they are going to go with the Charger or the Caprice. I have ridden in the Caprice with them twice. It is very fast and agile. We got called to a fire assist and we did 65 mph up an on-ramp with a 25 mph limit. Then we got it up to 135 mph. It can go faster. It's a good car but GM needs a year or two to fix minor flaws.

  • Holy shit! they have an automatic license plate reader. FUCK!! FUCK!! I owe lots of tickets and have an arrest warrant FUCK what to do what to do....shit imma have to pay them fucking tickets.

  • @StreetArtillery just drive around without your plates

  • @dunhillsupramk3 Here in L.A. you can´t drive with out plates.

  • @StreetArtillery well you could always rob a bank to pay your tickets

  • @dunhillsupramk3 No, if I get caught robbing a bank, I will go to jail for a long time. Besides i´ve never shot a weapon in my life.

  • @StreetArtillery the alpr is really meant for finding stolen vehicles...officers would have to do a personal check on you to find out if you have unpaid tickets

  • garbage this shouldn't even be titled under Caprice i use to love those cars but this isn't one it's just a Aus. Holden.

Big four door, rear wheel drive, V8 North American made with a column mounted shifter is what the REAL Caprice are.

Chevy dropped the ball once again.

  • U outta put tht n a crown Vic

  • I thought that California was in an overspending binge... We now know why.
