@Grimz92 He was jailed in Thailand, being suspect for practicing a form of "medicine" not known to them. Yet, he did adjustments on his jailers while he was waiting to be released. Some Army generals like his adjustments, which played a part in getting his release.
I like the way he seemed to talk casually as he did it so you didn't really even have a chance to get worried about what him breaking your spine or something.
Dr. Watkins was truly one of the chiropractic greats. I had the honor of being his student at Cleveland Chiropractic in the early 80's. Truly a remarkable man.
It was VERY good! He was among the very best! I wish I could find another chiropractor like him. They all try to free up the neck vertebrae in other ways. He told me that it was like rolling a milk bottle between your hands. The angle and leaverage where he places his fingers and hands is very critical based on his examination of the individual. Then the actual adjustment/movement is ever so slight. There was a famous athelete who tried this on himself and he killed himself doing it..
I think the buzz was caused by the florescent lighting as I moved about the room. Some was so bad that I had to edit it out. We joked about being able to hear the neck cracks all the way out in the lobby. I asked him the pops the pops were all about and he said it was air pockets. The pops aren't necessary for the adjustment.
@AlanHemenway Aye, the florescent fixtures ballasts radiate a noise type energy, which is, I think what my tick tracer picks up when it's giving me signals to let me know if the current is hot.
I can't comment on technique, as I know nothing about chiropractic. But I like the guy's demeanor. Very personable and gives off the "caring", positive attitude that SHOULD go hand in hand with modern medicine, yet sadly many choose to treat you like a part on an assembly line and you only exist for the purpose of making them money. Given the reviews and background of this guy along with this video, as a customer that would win him over in my mind for at least 1 visit. Nice video!
at 8.13 was really scary. I always wanted to get that adjustment but every time I felt that my CP was going to do that, i got scared and stopped it. I dont know why but it seems to me this is not safe. In general I believe in chiropractors.
A good chiropractor diagnosis with his finger tips. The feel what is out of allignment. As seen on the video, they know how to get the right leverage for the movements. Dr. Watkins told me that in the chiropractic school that he was with, new students weree blindfolded, a strand of hair was placed between the pages of a book, and the student turns one page at a time, run their fingers across the whole page, and find the strand of hair, feeling it on the page just before the strand of hair.
Also, as you point out in the adjustment at 0:08:13, he is such an artist; compared to the other chiropractors I've had... when he does the prepatory roll of your head, he does it in such a way that when he knows he's got you loosened-up, the movement comes as a surprise. My current chiropractor is pretty good but he won't do that adjustment but a lesser substitute. For the other adjustments I have a hard time relaxing because he telegraphs his moves.
I'm sure you've never experienced the positive effects of Chiropractic. The primary thing they do is release pressure on nerves (when necessary)in the spine... nerves that control the function of organs. The vertebrae can be out of alignment, and they are pushed back in place. Sometimes the cause is because of muscle tightness or lack of muscle support, if not an actual injury.
AWESOME neck cracks :)))))))))))))

a 92 year old chiropracter? Now that shows some commitment to your job.
eyobg16 2 years ago
He died at the age of 92 in 2007. This video was made around 1990. So he wasn't 92 when he performed this procedure.

I never knew this chiropractor but I like him just from the video! He's what a chiropractor should be--skillful and friendly.
