  • Hi

    Good clip.Thank you.

    Kind regards Concretejockey.

  • Thanks. I hope your horse gets better.

  • The Great Bear was the first 4-6-2 in the country. Historically very significant, designed by CJ Churchward in 1908. Precursor to Castle class and pretty much every pacific thereafter. Important to remember Stanier was a Swindon man before he took over at Derby and Crew! My Grandfather (died over 50 years ago) told my father how he could remember the loco at Paddington when he was a boy. So, thats why a replica Great Bear would get my vote. :-)

  • Any connection to Paddington Bear?

  • Hello Kingandcastle. Thanks for putting this clip up. I was the Guard on the 450 unit at the start of the clip! Busy day on Sunday, never seen the bridges between Farnborough and Basingstoke look like that before...festooned with people..good to see the the British still love their steam engines...Now all we really want is a replica Great Bear! Y

  • Very nicely filmed. Kind off just cruised through! 5*
