hi there, can you pls tell me how you recorded the drums from your HD1?

It has a 1/8" stereo output.

That's mangled through a few adapters into two separate direct box channels. Those go into my mixer which goes into an ADAT (just used as an AD converter) which goes into an E-mu PCI card via lightpipe.

This way I can record up to eight inputs to Cubase simultaneously.

I just set the camera up as I record each part, and then sync up the video after the fact. It's slightly tedious, but doable. Camera audio basically sucks.

I take it that you are a guitarist first and learned (while bass is technically the same a the first 4 of the guitar, writing a bass lick is different than guitar...so you still need to "learn" the instrument in that sense) the other instruments later???? Yes, no?

yeah, there are a few things I have in mind when posting these:

I'm going to try to do between one and four of these "video songs" per month, to kinda put a fire under my ass.

I'm cool with some warts, since it's "psuedo-live". That takes some pressure off, which might otherwise make me less prolific. And it still leaves me with enough material that I think I can do a "flawless" edit.

Also, feedback and collaboration!

I think I'll be considering these as "demos" for an upcoming album.

I've never developed an opinion on that. Hell, as the Bible says, is vacant until judgment. Though Hades, or Sheol, is like a lesser hell where the unrighteous and dead wait in suffering i=until judgment. It is a sad topic that I don't like much.

Jesus went to Sheol, but the paradise section of it, where the righteous went before Jesus'atonement had been finished and they could enter heaven.

Now we go straight to heaven, the sacrifice is done.

I saw a group here on YT where each musician is in a different location( where they live) and together they play a song. They do covers of well known bands/songs. I forgot their name. You see all of them playing at the same time with the screen divided into quater squares. My only disappointment was the vocals. It seems rare that a band can do covers and match the original vocalist well enough. Cool idea otherwise. You should do all instrumentals like this one if you get a band together.

the drums were great in this one, and overall kinda sounds a lot like some of the music I'm listening to atm- which is mainly two japanese aucustic kinda rock bands, named Toe and LITE- you should check out some of them here on youtube, like "Toe - Path" and "LITE "Ghost Dance""
