  • I absolutely LOVE your videos! They are VERY informative and have been so helpful for me!! I am hoping to add a Crestie to the family sometime in the future, and a few of the tips you have mentioned here are well worth remembering for future reference! Like ClearEyes on the red bumps! I never thought!!

    THANKS for the videos!!!

  • We are trying to decide b/t a slight hairy and a hairy hairless. How was your dog described? Slightly or very hairy?

    Her "mane" is beautiful!!

  • @regnig87 Bebe, my girl in this video, is a hairy hairless. She has quite a lot of light body hairy all over her body. Good luck with your new kiddo!

  • What is the best food to give them? I have 10 month old he is breaking out on his back but I am going to try the tips you have already posted. I am just not sure on the food. He eats so fast that he chokes on the hard food and they are small bite of food. So if you can plz let me know.. Thanks

  • @MrsDarleneTx Hi there,

I feed Holisitic Eagle pack dog, lamb formula and I like it very much. If the puppy is eating the kibble to fast I would wet it down with some water and let it get "mushy" before you give it to him, that way he can't choke on a hard bit. Hope that helps!

  • @MrsDarleneTx

Mine is on a raw food diet.

  • why do they call it a hairless yet it is hairy?? LOL

  • The hairless gene in this case is not a perfect hairless gene, meaning the entire dog is not hairless. The hairless gene can be expressed in many different ways from little body hair to lots of body hair. Either way the dog is still considered a hairless based on it's genes, lack of undercoat and bald spots, and usually dentation. You could compare it to humans- some have no body hair and some have lots.

  • Hello i have a question.. My chinese crested (hairless) is 4 months old but he does not have alot of hair Hair were he is so post to but only little bits.. wondering why is this and is there any way i can get it to grow quicker.. alot he is getting some black heads on his back wondering what i could do for that.. thanks alot

    Sam

  • Buy some Keratolux medicated shampoo and an exfoliating glove to use in his baths for his skin. Also, daily rubdowns with a warm towel can help clean surface dirt from their skin to prevent breakouts.

Some Cresteds have very small 'furnishings' naturally, but their hair generally does not grow to it's full length until around 2 yrs old.

  • i have a strange question for you...i have an 8 month old hairy hairless and we use veet (thanks to you) we have noticed little black spots on her...they are like under the skin and you can pull them out with tweezers and they are just like black specks...any clue on what they are?

  • Hi Andie,

They are blackheads. Crested blackheads tend to be hard and black. Your puppy is in that teenage stage right now and a lot of times cresteds will get blackheads and zits around this time. Make sure you are feeding a good food and bathing your crested regularly. You might try a gentle exfoliater as well.

  • what kind of dog food do you feed your cresteds?? I put Aveeno on her every morning do you reccomend a specific exfoliater? I have used clearacil pads on her and they seem to help on the actually zits she gets but not the black heads (which are not obvious at all unless you look real close) your are my youtube hero lol

  • LOL Glad I can help!

Try adding alittle bit of oatmeal to her shampoo and using that as a soft scrub. I also know a lot of people have had luck with almond scrubs. You also really don't want to over bathe and dry out the skin because that makes it more prone to blackheads. If you have an actual zit try mising baking powder and some water together to make a paste and putting it in the zit. It will dry up the zit as the paste dries. I feed Holistic Eagle pack and like ti very much!

  • What a sweet girl^^ So behaved!

  • Her ears aren't down. She has a lower "english" earset and she can put her ears forward and back against her head. She was imported from France and has been shown here in America so they are definately up! :-) You can see some pics of her with her ears up on my site. Thank you so much for the compliment on Bebe.

  • gorgeus, too bad her ears are down :<

  • gorgeous dog

  • my little crestie has afew white spots on her shoulders and neck im told its to do with her hair roots? i was also told some have them some dont like my other crestie she dont have them any ideas?. i do shave them myself also and use lotion on them ..;0)

  • It could have to do with the hair folicle being a bit blocked. It could be a little white head. A witchhazel and listerine mix is wonderful for that kind of thing.

  • Nice vid! Gorgeous Crestie!
