Commercial St bridge doesn't look a bit different to what it's like now! It's certainly aged well.
There must have been a great sense of hope at the time...we have since had what is effectively a long stagnation period in tram reinstatement.
It's definitely increased the public transport share on the corridors it operates I think. The problem is that it's duplicated by loads of bus routes that go a bit further beyond the tram termini (e.g. Malin Bridge - Stannington or Loxley)
omg! this was video'd the year before i was born and look how quiet meadowhall tram stop is! very rare you get that these days. Great vid with the HST at the begining ;). The trams and trains have changed so much since then
