WTF !! This version is a travesty of collosal magnitude, A jazzed up version of a wonderful song. It's like Kenny Ball doing a version of "Imagine", should never of happened. Be ashamed Elton, be very ashamed.
- Not bad here. Over the top on "Time Has Told Me". Good on "Way to Blue". Interesting, and thanks for posting. It's neat to hear this artist at a time when he was searching for his sound and style. Too bad Nick couldn't stay.
@MrCaioliz As far as I know Nick Drake produced this recording, before he did a version of this song himself. Please blame only Mr. Drake himself then, if you don't like it. He worked with a young and unknown session musician named Reg Dwight back then, who only hoped to once make a living with his own music.
@MrCaioliz Sorry as well. I tend to be a little forward, as so many people have this it's-Elton-John-so-it-must-be-big-headed-mainstream-crap attitude. Happy when I can share some of my little knowledge then. :)

No use raging, of course it isn't quite as delicate as Drake but at least he recognises his talent.

Don't like this as much as Nick Drake's but it's all subjective.

This version is The Shit and goes only to demonstrate how much smaller Elton is than Nick, and how much smaller than the Vegas grandiosity.
