They didn't say much about it in the movie, but Walter Day and some of the other referrees are followers of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi... a "spiritual guru" who founded a "school of management" in Fairfield, IA. While I personally know very little about them, I do know that many of the locals from Fairfield have a negative opinion of the ethics of the Maharishi "students". It doesn't surprise me that Weibe had trouble with Twin Galaxies in the beginning -- he wasn't an insider.

Donkey Kong is now THE ONE AND ONLY VIDEO GAME that TG no longer excepts tapes for record submissions. The will except a tape for any and every other video game in the world... the exception that applies only to DK was made after Billy regained the record back... Now Steve, a teacher with the summers off who had planned to play until had recorded a record breaker can no longer submit his tape... his only chance is to do it live. Is it right for just one game to be treated this way?
Round table? Looks more like a mouth breathers convention. The next time you dweebs want to individually emerge from behind your piles of discarded pizza boxes, nasal spray dispensers, and ear medicine bottles, you should conduct a round table on how to get laid.
Sadly, no one who is debating this is aware that when Bill submittd his 1,047,200 score he shaved off about 80,000 points on that performance. He should have had 1.147M which would have beaten Steve by over 100K. Even so, his videotape, which was allowed as a submission format by TG at the time, was scrutinzed 9 months later before it was formally accepted by TG. Although the score was posted during Funspot 2005 it was yanked from the database within 48 hours afterwards.

Billy was the best 25 years ago. But he is not anymore. Its so obvious. The only people who still believe he is the DK champion are the people who have been hanging off his balls for the past 20 years... and even some of them know that he is full of crap now.
