Wind chimes are extremely annoying! Like many folks I'd prefer peace and quiet, (horrors!) the sounds of birds singing or wind in the trees. With those totally obnoxious pipes clanging incessantly it's impossible to enjoy gardening. Think about your neighbors. It's worse than some jerk blasting his radio, the whine of a leaf blower or dogs barking, because at least those things eventually stop.

I believe it has to do with the length of the chime, you could craft the chimes to produce different notes based on their length (thickness of the chime could also be a factor).
