I love the memory of Anna Mae Wong. I've been married to a Chinese woman for 38 years now. I admire the Chinese people I know--- manners, brains, striving for education, concentration on family.... According to her autobiography Anna May went to Europe during the mid 1930s to make movies because shewas disappointed in not getting the movies she wanted. Like the lead part in the Great Earth. Louise Brooks did the same thing in the late 1920's.

Wow... I always loved this song by Billie Holiday but had no idea it had been composed for the magnificent Miss Wong. Now that I know it makes perfect sense.
