Force lightning is usable by the jedi. If you check the wiki you will see how they adapted it for the light side slightly. Also, Luke does become the emperor's apprentice and a sith lord later on after the movies. And yes, the emperor did not die when he was tossed down the hole. He transfered his "soul" to a younger clone of himself before death.
@stingerhead666 I think Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 were the best Star wars games of all time. Also can't forget about Star Wars Shadows of the Empire on N64 that was great too.

Plus you actually knew what would happen when you used your saber with TFU. JA was easy to screw up saber combos and the like. I have to say scoring a home run using a Jedi Master (Kota) is better than anything the player could do in JA, although Katarn would beat the crap out of you in the Dark Side final battle of JA.

@aundril07 - Luke has always been a fast learner. In Episode IV he was able to guide 2 proton torpedoes into the Death Star. By Episode VI he was able to defeat Darth Vader after roughly a little over a year of Jedi training (and he started VERY late in life) even though Vader had decades more experience.
It could also be because Luke was falling to the Dark Side in the video. The Dark Side initially gives a Force-user a big increase in power; a major factor that makes it so attractive.
@A86 you forget vader is caring how many pounds of metal on him not to mention he is older and has to fight with 4 robotic(cybernetic) limbs so if he was still anikan(vader) starkiller wouldnt have a chance becuz of his agility neither luke
@1396joeable - Even though Vader had all those disadvantages he still should have had more raw Force power than Luke could have built up in under 2 years. Darth Vader was still roughly about 80 to 90% as powerful as Darth Sidious from what I read and had decades more experience than Luke. I think Luke won because he's either a very fast learner with potential that might surpass his father's or Vader didn't truly in his heart want to kill or seriously maim Luke.
@1396joeable - I agree with you if Anakin had never lost his limbs and gotten burned. Luke wouldn't have stood a chance even after that year of training with Yoda. Anakin never truly reached his complete potential and he was still too much for Obi-Wan by the end of Episode III.
Starkiller might have stood a chance but probably still would have lost. Starkiller's potential approaches Luke and Anakin's and he had almost 20 years of experience.

He made a stupid blunder in that last attack on Obi-Wan. He left himself wide open and tried to over-jump. Before that moment Vader obviously had the upper hand throughout the fight. Most of the time he was attacking away while Obi-Wan was on the defensive fighting desperately for his life.
@A86 You don't understand. Obi-Wan adopted Soresu, a lightsaber style based on defence and wearing out the opponent. He wasn't forced onto the defensive, he adopted a defensive approach throughout his duel against Anakin. There is no concrete proof that Anakin absolutely held the upper hand against Obi-Wan, perhaps best exemplified by the moment when Anakin's Force push was unable to overcome Obi-Wan's.
@p14y2w1n - Before Anakin turned to the Dark Side I also don't get the feeling he was quite ready to face Obi-Wan and Mace Windu. Maybe, but probably not as well as he did after Turning. Sidious also said "Darth Vader will become more powerful than either of us" to Yoda.

We're debating whether if Anakin's supposed power increment would've been enough to finish Obi-Wan.

Given Anakin's potential, a substantial boost would've meant that Obi-Wan would be been the least of his worries. @aundril07 - Luke has always been a fast learner. In Episode IV he was able to guide 2 proton torpedoes into the Death Star. By Episode VI he was able to defeat Darth Vader after roughly a little over a year of Jedi training (and he started VERY late in life) even though Vader had decades more experience.
It could also be because Luke was falling to the Dark Side in the video. The Dark Side initially gives a Force-user a big increase in power; a major factor that makes it so attractive.

@A86 you forget vader is caring how many pounds of metal on him not to mention he is older and has to fight with 4 robotic(cybernetic) limbs so if he was still anikan(vader) starkiller wouldnt have a chance becuz of his agility neither luke

@1396joeable - Even though Vader had all those disadvantages he still should have had more raw Force power than Luke could have built up in under 2 years. Darth Vader was still roughly about 80 to 90% as powerful as Darth Sidious from what I read and had decades more experience than Luke. I think Luke won because he's either a very fast learner with potential that might surpass his father's or Vader didn't truly in his heart want to kill or seriously maim Luke.
IMO it's probably both.

@1396joeable - I agree with you if Anakin had never lost his limbs and gotten burned. Luke wouldn't have stood a chance even after that year of training with Yoda. Anakin never truly reached his complete potential and he was still too much for Obi-Wan by the end of Episode III.
Starkiller might have stood a chance but probably still would have lost. Starkiller's potential approaches Luke and Anakin's and he had almost 20 years of experience.

@p14y2w1n - Obi-Wan still had a considerable amount more experience than Young Vader. Young Vader was also arrogant and overconfident in his abilities. He made a stupid blunder in that last attack on Obi-Wan. He left himself wide open and tried to over-jump. Before that moment Vader obviously had the upper hand throughout the fight. Most of the time he was attacking away while Obi-Wan was on the defensive fighting desperately for his life.

@A86 You don't understand. Obi-Wan adopted Soresu, a lightsaber style based on defence and wearing out the opponent. He wasn't forced onto the defensive, he adopted a defensive approach throughout his duel against Anakin. There is no concrete proof that Anakin absolutely held the upper hand against Obi-Wan, perhaps best exemplified by the moment when Anakin's Force push was unable to overcome Obi-Wan's.

@p14y2w1n - Before Anakin turned to the Dark Side I also don't get the feeling he was quite ready to face Obi-Wan and Mace Windu. Maybe, but probably not as well as he did after Turning. Sidious also said "Darth Vader will become more powerful than either of us" to Yoda.

As for the Dark Side I didn't mean that it brings out a Force-user's full potential immediately. Just that it seems to give them a temporary boost in abilities. Perhaps best seen when Luke was able to overwhelm Vader when momentarily teetering toward the Dark Side.

@p14y2w1n Power isn't the only way to win a fight. Don't forget that Obi Wan taught Anakin most, if not all of his moves and was familiar with his fighting style, coupled with the fact that Anakin had already fought jedi and soldiers on several planets and just lost the trust of the love of his life. He was emotionally and physically exhausted. All of these factors were what likely led to his downfall.

@berserkchip And don't forget that it was a two-way thing- Anakin was as familiar with Obi-Wan's moves as well well as he was with his. I'm not assuming that Anakin enjoyed a surge in power as a result of his conversion to the Dark Side. You seem to be digressing and trying to explain why Anakin lost to Obi-Wan; something I already know. We're debating whether if Anakin's supposed power increment would've been enough to finish Obi-Wan.

@berserkchip The problem is, we don't know how much his powers would've grown, if the A86's theory of an immediate Force power boost were to be taken as valid. Given Anakin's potential, a substantial boost would've meant that Obi-Wan would be been the least of his worries. Take Starkiller as an example, who routed some of the best Jedi in the Order at such a young age.

@aundril07 Obi Wan died before boarding the Millenium Falcon to destroy the Death Star so he did not begin Luke's training so he probably sent him straight to Yoda. Hence he's the only one who could've taught him the ways of the force. It is only a what if story lol.

i guess they couldnt afford mark hammill to voice his own character. luke does seem overpowered by starkiller but than again luke is not a jedi knight at this point in the story. if he was fighting luke at the end of return of the jedi it would be a much stronger version of him. i mean he is the one that restablished the jedi order
