Everybody knows that warrant officers are the real pilots of Army helicopters. RLO's manage the companies warrant officers are the real pilots. @VladFerdinand1, try to get be a pilot in the 160th Night Stalkers, they have special modified UH-60 Blacks hawks called the MH-60L DAP which can be equip 16 hell fire missiles, Hydra 70 rockets, 30mm cannon, and two mini guns and still carry 14 troops into and out of battle. Now those things are like the Apache and Black Hawk had a baby.
I crew this Aircraft now and Im in 10th Mountian, I would say they had us do it because NY is more proud of its 10th Mountian soldiers over National Guard soldiers
After 4 years of college and acquiring my bachelors degree I also have to serve 6 years with the Army. The nice thing about Army ROTC for the helicopter training program is that they pay for all your college. (in my case over $120,000 for the helicopter training program) which is better than spending over 40 yrs trying to pay it off. I guess it's really how you look at it. Also, they GUARANTEE a helicopter pilot job immediately after my four yrs of school. Good luck.

They have one of the best, if not the best opportunities for people with interest in helicopters. I am doing Army ROTC. I just got accepted into the program last week. I will be doing four yrs of school, training with the Army 3 to 4 times a week, as well as furthering my education and obtaining rotor craft skills.
my question is why would they bring a black hawk from upstate NY when there are 2 guard black hawk guard units in MA that could fly this little stunt. And melanieheart101, have you heard this at training at Rucker.. AIDS.. Aviation Induced Divoced Syndrome?
