  • Nice job

  • too bad the kitchen was not installed after tile, then the flooring would be fluid and kitchen could be changed in future. you had to cut around island and cabinets i presume? owner is always right. nice work, great demo video. i"d hire ya.

  • Is there a name for the 3 tile pattern you used here. Awesome job!!

  • No name, the home owner came up with the pattern, he wanted it to look as random as possible.

  • mmmm wats all the lil pieces of tape for?? to mark dry tile

  • You Got it, Stops me from forgetting where not to step.

  • how did you get the ditra to go on smooth, Mine had a few spots with lumps in it ? I think its from my knees pressing on it as I try to smooth it out. Was your thinset more runny for the ditra than it was for the tiles??

  • Every roll of Ditra has an instruction booklet included with it. Use the recommended trowel (1/4" x 3/16" or 5/16" x 5/16" V notched trowel) mix the thinset a little more fluid than normal and use a wood float or the flat side of a trowel to push and smooth the ditra into the thinset. To much thinset under the Ditra could cause the lumps that you have.

  • man you are the best ive seen so far

  • No it's a porcelain tile.

  • Saldibs. Is it completely random or are you using a recurring pattern? I cant quite make it out. Superb looking job.

  • It is a recurring pattern, but it is meant to look random.
