Japanese guys were way too slow! They also had no coherence on how to use the attacking/counter attacking line. Definitely not Japan's best. Russia deserved the win.

@Bassai Seems like the Russian guys had a significant arm range advantage to me. Compare 2:10 to 2:13. Japan got off some good counters as well like in 2:03.

@xxfalcon14xx its thinking like that makes us divided. No style is better, Ive practice shotokan 12 years since I was young and all 4 karate style have the pro and cons. Ive seen all of them at their very best, and trust me there all very good karate arts. Its not in the style its the person man, sounds like you have'nt seen alot otherwise you would think differently. Wado Kai produces some of the greatest fighters in the Karate world. Show some respect, especially if you are a karate ka.

Problem with the Japanese Team is they're fighting guys with longer weapons ex for the last fight. The Japanese needed to let the russians initiate then sidestep with angles. Also NOT one sweep!!!This might be a shotokan style. Anyway you can see the dominance of the reverse punch. very nice a clean otherwise.

Good video on the sparring match. When attempting takedowns you go for broke and put it all on the line. I'll do takedowns only if I'm desperate to score a point.
