I'm just reliving the live show in Tempe, Az on 05/12/11! First time I've ever seen them and they totally rocked and owned the night! I've been a fan of Loudness since 1985 and I never thought I'd EVER see them live and I did! Their musicianship was off the hook and I have not seen a earth thundering show like that before.
I've got a few videos on my site from the 5/12 show! I wish I could have recorded SDI because that was the last song and it was the best I've ever heard.
YES!! Super melodic and commercial but still an awesome rock / metal tune, and great playing on all parts. Munetaka rocks this! I think this is the Japan "Shadows Of War" mix though on which the bass is louder, and those extra "Oh yeah's" in the chorus aren't on the US version ("Lightning Strikes").
One of the most melodic solos ever written by a young guitarist & one of the most fitting I've ever heard.Messers Lifeson,Rhodes & Jake e.lee had been melting my head back when I was learning, then this guy came along. It just so suits the dynamic & melodic chordal structure. His choice of notes, entry, structure & exit, for the 28 seconds the solo-bars arbitrarily allocated, were on the money, nothing else would've fit; it's a mini melodic song within a song .. it's perfect.Class ! Go Akira ! ;-)
Did youguys know that Gene Simmons discovered these guys while in Japan an Signed them!! look at the album credits !!they thank Gene for the Break!! no bullshit!! pretty cool!!
Akira is so tasty. Yngwie and others got more press. Loudness were a great live band. Saw em' in a club in Edmonton Canada in the 80's. Nice guys. Akira was extremely nice and had no attitude. He came accross as a guy who loved guitar and loved playing guitar. He chatted backstage with us about Randy and Eddie and Uli Jon Roth and early Scorpions, Rush, Yes.
Let me tell you who rocked: Loudness, Accept, Motely Crue early times, Stoned Fury, Black n Blue, King Diamond, Mericful Fate, Venom, Testam, Slayer, some were cover bands but thats OK
Brings back memories of all the good stuff to listen to. Everything now is " disposable " Are any of the bands out now going to be listened to in 15-20 yrs....doubt it.
Are you fucking kidding me? No offense but you must only be about 15 or 16. These guys were the shit in the mid 80's. They were playing this against RATT and all the glam faggots.
Like all true great bands, they all make the transition to commercial success without losing what made them good in the first place. As if their first album wasn't good enough, this album and soon to follow "Hurricane Eyes" were huge in terms of them hitting commercial success and still having the hooks and melody-driven heavy rock to stay on top. They will always be my favorite when it comes to rivaling hard rock bands!
That is truly tragic, what a great drummer.Loudness will always be a band I will listen to for the rest of my life.God I love the 80's hard rock and hair bands.Hense my name on here.
You and me both...my friends joke me cause I am stuck in the 80's music wise! Only 80's metal. I will be 90 in the old folks home cranking loudness, Obsession, Dirty Looks, George Lynch among many other!
Keep the music alive! If you listen they will play.
This video turned me onto all the awesome Japanese acts from the mid 80's and have been a huge fan of anything out of Japan ever since. Thanks for such a high quality video! Perfect sound and quality. Well done!
Damn, this really holds up well. Most songs from over 20 years ago don't sound this good or fresh. Love the vocals, the guitar solo and the drum part at 3:19/20.
I hope Munetaka Higuchi's health has greatly improved.
Billy Linne, Stone, Coughlin: are you out there?
Message me on fb ASAP!
