  • Funny, Nataly has a slight Belgian accent.

  • Bravo Nataly, excellent français.

  • look at Zaz' version please, you could learn a thing or two from her singing...

  • @dahvisibleinvisible This statement is idiotic, Zaz and Pomplamoose are completely different styles of music, they both perform the song very well, in their OWN unique style. >:|

  • @snipesicle hah, my comment was written in a hurry lol, What I meant was the passion and the "life" Zaz brings to her songs, while Pomplamoose is just performing. Zaz lives her music. I know there's a difference between live performances and this kind of recording. However, I still believe that, if Pomplamoose managed to bring more life and feeling into her singing, it'd help her out - that's what I think.

  • Belle chanson *-*

  • The melody is so happy and it alone makes me smile bigger than all smiles in the world put together.

  • sont français est très bon!

  • What does La Vie en Rose mean?(:

  • @ConlangFan life in pink :)

  • @ConlangFan Literally: "Life In Pink," but would be equivalent to the English idiom of "seeing things [life, etc.] through rose-colored glasses" (living life with the attitude that things appear better than they really are).

  • They are the cutest.

  • This is very charming and fun to watch

  • This is very charming and fun to watch

  • love love love

  • Legendary ! Tu parle très bien français. ;)

  • Sublime

  • I feel that Pomplamoose has become too francophilic as of late (or maybe it has just become more prominent). It's nothing to be proud of, but certainly not a negative in my opinion. Whatever floats peoples' boats is generally fine by me. I just think the naïve banality among francophilia is so astounding that it deserves to be noted. I'm saying this as a former french-student and a not-so-self-appointed-hipster so yes, I understand the lyrics and I still love this band.

    Splendor.

  • Haha great job!!!

  • I love Jack's voice :D

  • Lol wow i didnt know she knew french great job and jacks voice was a bit disturbing

  • I am Mexican, and I love your voice..

  • You where born on this world to make music your voice is truelly a gift from whatever is out there

  • You have a better French voice than most of the French (wannabe) singer ! Keep singing !

  • @Liputhia hummm actually nowadays french singers make awful music , I agree. But old ones are really good.

  • God bless Jack and all that he chooses to be omg <3

  • A dor a bul...!

  • beautiful song/voice! Im playing this song too my 2months old son!

  • I like this better than Edith's version. :)

  • i like the that boy:Dby the way good voice:)

  • Ok so you would probably make a very cute fat girl. But don't do it. Listen. Don't get fat.

  • I love your voice! Can you do more French songs?

  • @Labetolol45 Well, her french is very good...For example, she says "lui" and not "loui" like most english-native would have pronounced it

  • good

  • Though I don't think she sounds like she's trying too hard, her voice has a uniqueness. It's not a pitch perfect voice like Piaf's but not everyone prefers pitch perfect songs. I don't know if her voice is common or whether it's related to unclean air (any evidence to support your claim?) but I know that it's enjoyable.

  • @MondrosenPrime 'she' is not trying very hard, agreed, 'she' relies entirely on the sweetness of her voice, and has never bothered to school her voice, exercise the lungs or develop a good breathing technique. 'she' has a sweet and ineffective tiny voice, and only her desire to be seen and heard is the passion that shows through. The video and instrumentals are good, the voice I find near offensive... even my dog runs off when I play this too loud.

  • @stanibol Well I guess you better go be alone with your rosey-smelling shit, and keep your asshole criticism to yourself, I think her voice sounds wonderful, and I'll come back to enjoy it again. Dick. You think you know a bunch of shit about music and that other people should care about your opinion? We don't. And seriously whats up with saying 'she'? Do you think this girl is a tranny or something? Seriously. Stop trying so hard to sound intelligent, it is having the opposite effect.

  • @MondrosenPrime Oh, there are always exceptions to the rule, but in industrial centres where the air no longer is fresh and clean, the thing that disappears over the generations is the resonance of the voice, thanks to the pollution and various respiratory ailments or diseases. Yes we can talk about average, and commonplace vocalists, big cities are full of them. eg. "The average American's voice is flat and thin; that is, it lacks resonance." search oldandsold etc articles10 voice 7 etc

  • I think it's her intonation & range that's imperfect, the voice itself is sweet. But imperfection doesn't always mean bad. This cover sounds very unique and youthful. I prefer this one than Piaf's (sound recording technology of that era made it sounds too heavy) or Armstrong's (never liked that one, heh). My most favorite version is Trio Esperanca's. There's no need to bash someone's critique if the critique is sound & makes sense. I think @stanibol's opinion is quite logical.

  • @MondrosenPrime Thanks. I also just discovered trio esperança la vie en rose and listened again to "Edith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich, Louis Armstrong & Mireille Mathieu in La vie en rose", technically those are all sound, but of course, with all great talent that appeals widely; ppl will favour one over another, depending on whether a listener likes to be soothed or rocked, or allow the music to penetrate as if 'smacked in the face or gut' depending on a listener's emotional depth or or lack of it.

  • Thanks a lot, it was hard enough to decide which version I liked better, Louis Armstrong or Edith Piaf, now this! perfection has never been so terrible :(

  • Love the voice~~~

  • I love this song!!!!

  • Sweet voice!

  • @stanibol way to be a dork about a perfectly nice song. I'd really like to see you do better.

  • @Pheorach the song? the song is magnificent. But the voice here is karaoke at best, - she has neither the required vocal range nor controlled breathing, and therefore sounds try hard. To be a good singer it takes a bit more than just be able to hold a tune. And this voice lacks both vigour and purity to do this song justice. I said that it's obvious the singer is trying her best, awarding 8 out of 10 for effort. Voices like hers are common in overpopulated places where the air is not clean.

  • @Pheorach Yeah, she has a beautiful voice. I think he's tone deaf. lol

  • @stanibol what the fuck? she has an amazing voice

  • @stanibol Wow either you are completely off in space on some other planet or totally tone deaf but what the heck! She has a CRAZY, phenomenal voice and i cannot believe that you could even say otherwise. whatever. Everyone else who loves her voice, THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! :))

  • I love you.

  • 3 years old! and still amazing <3

  • Spot on!!

  • Your pronounciation is very good :D ! Love your version :D !

  • i don't know if Jack was actually singing French at the end but I heard "sa la pasta spaghetti" XD

  • @AmyHaigh

Yes, he also said "O sole mio" lol

    Viva l'Italia u.ù

  • HUN! she speaks french....

  • Your accent is exquisite for a non-French. And I love that yo don't get embarrassed about the accent because it makes the song so much better :)

  • you captured the feel of the song perfectly

  • sing "quelqu'un m'a dit" please !!!!

  • This is beautiful! Your voice is so soothing

  • HA I love this... It has a total Life Aquatic Feel to it.

GET THAT MAN A RED CAP AND A SPEEDO

  • La Pasta Swagatti. :) lol Jack.

  • to be honest i can't detect an american accent. and i've lived in france for ten years now. i was surprised in a good way.

  • I sing along. I don't know French.

  • @cmcrombie024 true! dont u just hate how haters on youtube think they're the smartest?

  • @majiira i know, just quoting what jack sings at the end of the video.

  • Bravo!

  • Swaghetti

  • Oh my freaking god. I melted. Natalie! your voice is absolutely beautiful. You both are just so talented. :')

  • Elle parle français! Chapeau à Nataly!

  • why does this have so many more views than the original?

  • @padronedise there is no original. This song is like realy old, if you didn't no, so it isn't produces by vevo, and doesn't have an original version
