Ha ha, no, I can't say that I am, although of course I've followed the story. I've watched basically every gay soap story line there is, but the only ones I've gotten really involved with is Reid and Luke and John Paul and Craig/Kieron.
Oh, happy - I've been d/l'ing Anthony's clips during your hiatus but have just come back to get the full HD versions. I've been reading the recaps and desperately trying not to laugh out loud, but I literally had to clap a hand over my mouth on this one! Bordering on obsessed. :)))) I love Luke when he interacts with Reid. It is great-Reid brings something out in him that Noah certainly does not. I had to go back and watch the earlier episodes once Reid said "the second or third time I laid eyes on him". I am so glad Luke was "roof top" Luke when he told Noah how it really was.

By the way, where the hell is Mason? The last time we saw him, he & Luke’s alter ego, Luciano were busy outdoing each other with threats at Oakdale Memorial, then the show just disposed of him. I think Mason’s return would certainly provide a nice closure to the dreadful I’m-blind-because-of-Luke saga and allow the story arc to finally come full circle.
I agree Luke was wrong to go to Reid after Noah turned him down, and I'm glad Reid kicked him out... at the same time, I can't feel too bad for Reid. He knew Luke was in love with someone else the first time he kissed him. Earlier that day, Luke was upset that Noah had asked another guy to take him home, then later he told Reid the main reason he wanted his company was to keep his mind off Noah. Kiss or no kiss, Reid had to know there was a good chance that Luke would choose Noah.

Plus for Reid, it's Luke's guilty who's talking, about Noah's accident and to have feelings for someone else than Noah. He understand and always respected Luke's feelings, he even tried to put some distance between them but Luke always came to him. Reid isn't the guy who will accept to be Luke's second choice.

Even if Luke and Noah get together after this there is no guarantee they'll be together forever. Even in the soap opera there's never a guarantee because the drama is in dysfunction. Maybe the discrepancy between rooftop/lake Luke and now with "ILUVEYOUNOAH!" is probably because the more he is giving Reid the more it's becoming real and not so much, 'well it's because I haven't kissed someone in a while' or 'well it's because I am grief stricken and need comfort' No. At this point it's like Reid said he has a decision to make but he wants the complacency and simpleness of the past because he's scared of the future. After saying that his feelings had changed and he'd let Noah go... I can only assume that L had an attack of panic at the thought of being with a mature man instead of a boy. Now I'm so glad to be back because of LuRe, but sad to find it's ending. BTW, if this power couple appeals to a hetero-female like me they definitely should be the endgame for this plotline. Reid & Luke are electric on screen. I'm rooting for them more than I rooted for CarJack's reunion, or Lily/Holden's even.

Now that this walking time bomb has finally exploded in their pretty little faces: Noah can go off to plot his dreaded RETURN & Luke can be allowed to grow-up, realizing that the NUKE project has FINALLY been derailed & that Reid IS the man for him. Luke will now go to Reid not because he's trying to refill a Noah prescription but because he's finally ready to take a chance on real, healthy love. REID IS THE BEST THING TO HAVE HAPPENED TO LUKE & NUKE!

How many people have suffered at the hands of NUKE's radioactivity? Maddie was christened as their first victim and RIRE's just become their latest casualty in a long reign of terror. The ONLY difference this time around is that most of the audience cares deeply for Reid and love him above all else. R - who has been used for far too long by Luke - is an emotional investment viewers will not allow NUKE to fuck with! And then there's Richard! What did he ever do? Yet already he has also suffered.
But this episode successfully ripped these childish spoilt brats out of their over-grown cocoon. N was exposed for the sadistic, self-loathing narcissist that he truly is and L for the Stockholm-syndrome suffering, spineless masochist who - until R - has had god-awful taste in men. NUKE has ALWAYS thrived on destructive 'stunts & shows' - how long did they think this could go on for? They would have surely wound being the real-life portrayal of "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf” for chrissakes!
No matter how many times they have been separated, NUKE has always managed to find their way back together. Even in their heart-to-hearts/confrontations they just walk on eggshells, handling each other with kid gloves. They secretly resent each other but are so co-dependent, to extent of parasitism that it's life-threatening for either to break away. So instead, they just wrap it all up in a velveteen bow and parade it around as love.
@bigastheritz Wow, you really hit the nail on the head here! In contrast, one of the best things about LuRE (and we see it so clearly in this episode) is that they don't hold back with each other - they let it all out - whether it's tenderness, sarcasm, passion or anger, there's no "walking on eggshells" with them.
I know this has been deemed the essential WTF episode, LMAO! But IMHO, it borders on brilliance; I just think the execution was off due to the hilarious dinner theater acting. There was need for more subtlety & displays of inner conflict. Naturally, ESS is excluded from this criticism. Thanks to this episode, this is the very first time I have actually felt as though LURE endgame might actually be a REAL possibility but first the writers had to push NUKE to an irreparable breaking point.

@sadodarkness I'm thinking they won't kill him off, but will do something equally permanent. Luke and Noah do not need to be together, if for no other reason than they are boring. Reid is a driven adult who doesn't have the time or energy for the high school drama. Not to mention Luke and Reid actually have chemistry. Luke and Noah haven't had any spark for quite some time.

5. Psycho Jr's 'betrayed-little-housewife' snides from top to tail. He was in full-on bitch mood & strangely enough, I loved every minute of it!
6. And finally, Luke, lordy-lordy, pulling out all the stops with his over-the-top Scarlett O'Hara routine which I'm convinced has been nesting in that boy's back pocket forever!
4. Luke, in his infinite wisdom, decides that they should go for a celebratory drink [BIG MISTAKE] at Yo's but when they get there the teams aren't even sitting together. You have LURE going through their "The Thorn Birds" struggle and then there's Colonel Mayer Jr./Psycho Jr. seethingly spying on them from across the room while shitting all over Richard, who is obviously NOT impressed!
On one side, we've got LURE & on the other, ORCHARD - staring the other team down. It had the makings of a pre-shootout Mexican standoff. All that were missing were the Stetsons to block out the high noon sun's punishing glare, sweat streaming down their dust-powdered faces, quivering hands on holsters, terrified townsfolk & the ever-reliable tumbleweed just passing on through.
3. When Reid joined Luke & Co. outside the house, he had this "oh-shit-I-don't-want-any-trouble-take-whatever-you-want-but-please-don't-kill-us" expression written all over his face & walked cautiously into the scene as would any experienced negotiator entering upon a tense hostage situation or drug deal about to go awry.
first things first...luke acts like "oh hey, richard, old buddy", but they never really met...noah may be blind but richard clearly isn't so why luke never thought that maybe richard could see them kissing and then tell his pal noah is silly...also, i adore eric's little hand twitch (realized why they always have him holding something)
finally....love the drama...bring it on atwt writes. reid is still awesome and as long as he ends up happy in the end, i'll be happy.
I agree Reid is not the type of person to just take that type of childishness from Luke and I for one an soooo glad that he didn't just except the way he was acting!! :) When he told him to get out I was sooooo happy with Reid!! Luke needs to wake up and smell the growing up part of life and not the spoiled part of life!

Bordering on obsessed. :)))) I love Luke when he interacts with Reid. It is great-Reid brings something out in him that Noah certainly does not. I had to go back and watch the earlier episodes once Reid said "the second or third time I laid eyes on him". I am so glad Luke was "roof top" Luke when he told Noah how it really was.

By the way, where the hell is Mason? The last time we saw him, he & Luke’s alter ego, Luciano were busy outdoing each other with threats at Oakdale Memorial, then the show just disposed of him. I think Mason’s return would certainly provide a nice closure to the dreadful I’m-blind-because-of-Luke saga and allow the story arc to finally come full circle.

I agree Luke was wrong to go to Reid after Noah turned him down, and I'm glad Reid kicked him out... at the same time, I can't feel too bad for Reid. He knew Luke was in love with someone else the first time he kissed him. Earlier that day, Luke was upset that Noah had asked another guy to take him home, then later he told Reid the main reason he wanted his company was to keep his mind off Noah. Kiss or no kiss, Reid had to know there was a good chance that Luke would choose Noah.

I love reading your updates! Thank you for allowing me to see the start of this story. I came in late. I've been watching ATWT since the 80s, but stopped around the time Nuke started. Now I'm so glad to be back because of LuRe, but sad to find it's ending. BTW, if this power couple appeals to a hetero-female like me they definitely should be the endgame for this plotline. Reid & Luke are electric on screen. I'm rooting for them more than I rooted for CarJack's reunion, or Lily/Holden's even.

How many people have suffered at the hands of NUKE's radioactivity? Maddie was christened as their first victim and RIRE's just become their latest casualty in a long reign of terror. The ONLY difference this time around is that most of the audience cares deeply for Reid and love him above all else. R - who has been used for far too long by Luke - is an emotional investment viewers will not allow NUKE to fuck with! And then there's Richard! What did he ever do? Yet already he has also suffered.

No matter how many times they have been separated, NUKE has always managed to find their way back together. Even in their heart-to-hearts/confrontations they just walk on eggshells, handling each other with kid gloves. They secretly resent each other but are so co-dependent, to extent of parasitism that it's life-threatening for either to break away. @bigastheritz Wow, you really hit the nail on the head here! In contrast, one of the best things about LuRE (and we see it so clearly in this episode) is that they don't hold back with each other - they let it all out - whether it's tenderness, sarcasm, passion or anger, there's no "walking on eggshells" with them.

I know this has been deemed the essential WTF episode, LMAO! But IMHO, it borders on brilliance; I just think the execution was off due to the hilarious dinner theater acting. There was need for more subtlety & displays of inner conflict. Naturally, ESS is excluded from this criticism. Thanks to this episode, this is the very first time I have actually felt as though LURE endgame might actually be a REAL possibility but first the writers had to push NUKE to an irreparable breaking point.

@sadodarkness I'm thinking they won't kill him off, but will do something equally permanent. Luke and Noah do not need to be together, if for no other reason than they are boring. Reid is a driven adult who doesn't have the time or energy for the high school drama. Not to mention Luke and Reid actually have chemistry. Luke and Noah haven't had any spark for quite some time.

This also shows just how much more mature Reid is then Luke! If Luke and Reid end up together, and I pray that they do, Luke needs to work hard to get him back! Reid deserves that much!!!!!!

4. Luke, in his infinite wisdom, decides that they should go for a celebratory drink [BIG MISTAKE] at Yo's but when they get there the teams aren't even sitting together. You have LURE going through their "The Thorn Birds" struggle and then there's Colonel Mayer Jr./Psycho Jr. seethingly spying on them from across the room while shitting all over Richard, who is obviously NOT impressed!

When Reid joined Luke & Co. outside the house, he had this "oh-shit-I-don't-want-any-trouble-take-whatever-you-want-but-please-don't-kill-us" expression written all over his face & walked cautiously into the scene as would any experienced negotiator entering upon a tense hostage situation or drug deal about to go awry.

LMAO, I must be a freak because I thought this episode was hysterical! Let's take a look:
1. Richard's ‘I-told-you-so’ remarks.
2. The subtext of Luke & Richard’s exchange. As far as I know, they have never met but Luke made sure to let Richard know that he KNEW who he was:
Luke: “Hey, Richard” & wave [read: “Bitch, what the hell are YOU doing here with MY man?”]
Richard’s silent wave [read: "Hey! Don't get nasty! I'm the least of your problems, trust me!"]

first things first...luke acts like "oh hey, richard, old buddy", but they never really met...noah may be blind but richard clearly isn't so why luke never thought that maybe richard could see them kissing and then tell his pal noah is silly...also, i adore eric's little hand twitch (realized why they always have him holding something)
finally....love the drama...bring it on atwt writes. reid is still awesome and as long as he ends up happy in the end, i'll be happy.

I agree Reid is not the type of person to just take that type of childishness from Luke and I for one an soooo glad that he didn't just except the way he was acting!! :) When he told him to get out I was sooooo happy with Reid!! Luke needs to wake up and smell the growing up part of life and not the spoiled part of life!

I love how Noah asks Luke if he's drinking again. Like that would explain so much to him if it were true! I sort of wish Luke was drinking again and then he could get sober and choose Reid:)

Really I am shocked that Luke totaly dismissed Reid's feelings - I am sooo disappointed with Luke right now! I can't believe that he went to Reid and totally stomped on his feelings as if he didn't care about him at all. What a spoiled brat! I'm soooo glad that Reid told him to get out. Wow I'm just in shock right now!!!
