  • @koji187 Doesn't bother me, I no longer have this car (moved abroad perm) but when I sold it I wasn't running any bov, not really needed.

  • mmber aku pkai....

  • @umahkular Sorry I dont understand Malaysian.

  • Are the prof sheepdog bov supposed to flutter like most of the videos i see?

  • @WESamiss depends how you set the adjustment, some people like a little flutter (comp surge).

  • @wolfie83 I see. I was thinking that was the case. The comp surge doesn't sound good unless its with the sheepdog for some reason. To me anyways. hahaa

  • @WESamiss doesn't bother me, as long as i'm making a shit load of boost lol

  • @wolfie83 Blow off valve flutter has absolutely nothing to do with compressor surge; they're two completely different phenomena. No doubt someone started this on some internet forum...

By the way, where do you live that the police pull you over for BOV sound?? I really do wish more people in the community would take the time to fight some of this BS in court, as most of it collapses when challenged properly.

Very nice Supra and engine installation.

  • @lustacularlysimple I was definitely getting comp surge flutter because I had the exact same sound when the bov was removed coming off throttle with positive boost as well as the bov did a little on the hardest setting (adjustable)...I was in Australia at the time, they have been making an all out assault on anyone driving a legally modified vehicle so people give up and stop modding (also making it prohibitively expensive).

I gave up, not with cars...with Australia and immigrated to the US.

  • @lustacularlysimple No such thing as 'blow off valve flutter' the blow off valve either cracks open under manifold vacuum or it's held shut under positive boost it doesn't flutter. that noise people refer to is called 'inlet reversion'. Air that comes back through the turbo inlet(out the filter)under a closed throttle. I'll pay anyone $100 who can prove to me the existence of 'blow off valve flutter' it doesn't exist!

  • @1980andyw They will indeed flutter, especially if the vacuum connection is made off of only one runner of the intake manifold. That you have never personally witnessed it, or (more likely) have but didn't recognize it for what it was, doesn't mean otherwise.

  • @lustacularlysimple Why would taking the vacuum hose of one runner make it flutter? Are you suggesting that there will be a different vacuum reading from the runners as compared to directly behind the throttle body? Mate i'm happy to be proved wrong but can you show me proof of this 'flutter'?? I knew guys who used to drive turbo lancers and they called it 'wastegate flutter' which we both know is bullshit. Also can you tell me why my TX3 with the blow off valve removed used to make that sound??

  • @1980andyw Actually if the piston spring in the bov isnt very firm or set correct it will bounce coming off boost...they do indeed flutter, all it is, is chopping of air under pressure so I dont know what the obsession and arguments with it are all about like it matters.

  • Exactly what I want

  • @bippu806 This BOV i'm actually selling separate, due to police busting everyone over a little noise when I redid the cooler piping to increase the flow I left it out. Piston in it is perfect and has a new fitting to weld to your piping.

  • @wolfie83 Problem is I don't have a 2JZGTE in my Aristo

  • niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, i want that mk3 :P

  • @xLiveForGLoryx if you were in Australia mine is for sale lol

  • @wolfie83 how much my friend?

  • @xLiveForGLoryx $18k neg :)

  • @wolfie83 damn, so tempting. but i live in the states haha. how much is an average 2jz gte swap?

  • @xLiveForGLoryx lol yeah i'm moving to the states, hence why its up for sale...damn near impossible to import a vehicle that was locally produced.

  • @wolfie83 oh that sucks thats why ur selling ur beautiful car.

  • @xLiveForGLoryx yep, that and I want to get back into 1930's hotrods...have a little more room to play with since pre-48 vehicles in the US don't have to comply to any emission standards. lol

  • @wolfie83 ya buddy, u only have emissions depending where u live. big citys? ya u got em, in my city i dont :P

  • @xLiveForGLoryx every state and city (including LA) in the US has no restrictions on pre-1948 vehicles...I know in cali the supe guys with big power have to jump through hoops to keep their cars on the road.

  • @wolfie83 ya im sure, thats gotta suck, so what 1930 car do u want to build?

  • @xLiveForGLoryx I'm doing a 1936 dodge coupe with a supercharged 440ci...aiming for 1200 or so HP for straight line outright speed (salt lake racing). I love supra's but I need a change, had this one for years now.

  • @wolfie83 i live 40 miles from salt lake city dude, not that far from the salt flats either. i wish u could bring ur supra, and let me drive it a little? haha

  • Nice sound is that the original BOV of the 2jz?

  • ummm dude the title and description says its a sheepdog PROF bov... :/

  • its a surge alright!

  • is that the acual bov or do u have a lil surge goin on there

  • prob a bit of surge, its a more direct sound coming off full boost...when you ease up with positive pressure you get alot of flutter.

  • what brand of intake is that

  • custom, now removed and updated...will post videos HOPEFULLY this weekend when i pick her up.

  • a little compresion surge

  • yeah... everything has a little compressor surge while not under load.... turbos don't make boost in neutral... not enough exhaust flow. He obviously is running a shit ton of boost, so the spring probably needs to be that tight for high boost application

  • just adjust the spring on the BOV...i'm half tempted to remove the bov from my current system. :)

  • So if i do this swap what all will i need? How do i get the harness to hook up?

How do run the intercooler pipes?

P.S my supra is an 87, N/T- need the power!!!

  • u wont find ur answers here...look on toymods or something...

  • I need the to know how to do this swap in my mk3, any info would be nice

  • what year is that?

i was thinking about doing this swap to my 87, is there any problems i should know about?

  • Stock turbos hit the firewall. You need to hammer a small dent into the FW to get it to fit. Other then that, rear sump, 1JZ motor mounts, 1JZ bellhousing, and it bolts right in.

  • i have that exact bov on my 7m. love that sound.

  • that turbo flutter is a compressor surge

  • doesnt do any harm though, the people i know running no BOV on a 2j get massive compressor surge with no detrimental effect to the turbos life...people will argue this no doubt but without proof i'm off the "no care" crowd. :)

  • sounds like a supra lool

  • that sounds excellant nice car.

  • nice, very nice , looks like a really clean swap, and nice sound.

  • what bov do you have ? and how do you make a bov flutter like that ?

  • in case the title evaded you the bov is a Sheepdog PROF, made in japan...that flutter isnt the bov, thats turbo flutter, you can adjust that out though, at higher boost turbo flutter IMO isnt good on the turbos life.

  • Is the Sheepdog adjustable like the old HKS and the Greddy Type RS? Did you ever get the compressor surge out?

  • i'm changing all intercooler piping...had issues with the idiot that made this lot for me, i wasnt too worried about the comp surge after more talking with friends that run high power and no BOV but i did adjust it out (so yeah it is adjustable).

  • wow that motor sounds MEAN

  • thanks alot!!! running a full 3" system from the turbo back and the boost wound right up...love the agressive sound i managed to get out of it.
