I feel extremely blessed. i got into YES in 1970 at 14 and saw them first in 72. it changed everything! musically. philosophically, Spiritually. They hit me on every level. YES I grew up with Jazz, Blues, Funk, Psychedelic, Funk, Classical ,etc but YES put all these things together in one & took even prog to new heights.
You've got 5 years on me, dude... at one time that seemed like a vast difference ;) I remember getting into them around the time Fragile came out, but I probably heard them w/o realizing it before then when my older brother was playing them on the stereo. "South Side of the Sky" totally blew me away; that synth sound was like nothing I'd ever heard. It came from wherever that place on the cover art was ;) Good times!
I have seen these guys all around the world! For 40 yrs I have been a Yes FANATIC! I live and breath Yes music! Just saw them on Dec 2. Although without Jon Anderson. They were still GREAT! Simply put: They have no peers! They are the best progressive rock band to ever exist! 40 + yrs of this MAGICAL music says it all! YES RULES!.......
I saw them on Dec 2 as well, simply awesome. I finally got to see Tempus Fugit and Machine Messiah live. Benoit did a good job staying true to the music, great voice! Would have never got to see TF and MM if Jon were with them on this tour, don't get me wrong, I would have liked it if Jon were there, but YES seems to always find talent to fill the empty slots. Long live YES!
you're so damn lucky. one of the severe disadvantages of being born so late. I missed them when they were rising dammit. thank God and my mom that I saw them nov 14 and dec 3 last year, at least. made my whole year for sure; I've been longing to see the members of Yes LIVE for the longest time. to think that I finally got to witness these severely talented individuals deliver themselves to us. I still can't believe it. hey what show was dec 2?
I absolutely agree w/ every word you said. they're the finest prog band to step into the scene. thank God it happened :D you're so lucky. you've seen them lots now. at least I saw them nov 14 and dec 3 last year. been dreaming about seeing them deliver themselves before me for the longest time, and it finally happened :D

I was at the NIA show and do remember them filming at the show. I wondered when I'd hear the songs in full.
I Took my son along to this show, his 1st YES concert, so this is special to me and although he was 15 at the time, was astounded at how good they sounded live and so became an instant Yesfan...I still smile when I think of the look on his face when he heard Squire's Bass pedals thundering during "And you and I", a great moment. Roll on the new tour, can't wait.
Can't wait for this DVD, lots of it from the NIA show in 2003.... That concert was a great concert..I went along with my then 15 year old son. He couldn't believe how good they sounded live and I still laugh just thinking of the stunned look on his face when he heard Squire's Bass pedals, which seemed to burst through your chest during "And You And I". Roll on the European tour next year!!
It does indeed look great. I was at the NIA show and it's great to finally have it available in its entirety (well almost, great to have more Glastonbury footage too as that was such a big date in Yes' history). Only negative comment - seems like Jon's ditty (in between Looney Tunes and Show Me) has been edited out yet again, I know it's only a ditty, but I love it (Happy birthday to anyone who had a birthday last year and comes form Accrington etc. - classic).

My goodness, Steve Howe just has no concern about his personal appearance any more, does he? His teeth are falling out and he doesn't seem to care!
Still, the band sounds very good here, and I actually got heebie-jeebies at South Side of the Sky. I'll be buying this, for sure.

My dad got the Asia: Phoenix CD a couple months ago and there's a picture of Steve Howe. It looks like he's letting his hair grow a little.
