Louis did say he loved Lestat, and Lestat mentioned on several occasions that he loved Louis. From TVL:

I couldn't immediately answer. Again, the sheer excitement was excruciating, and the love I felt for him was positively humiliating. (Lestat)

Louis DOES love Lestat. He tries to hate him but he cannot. That is evident throughout the entire series.

Lestat loves Louis but at less Louis grows to hate Lestat. At least that's how I read it in the books.
