  • This guy aint bad

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFF

  • the songs called another kind of love, this exact solo is only in the live version though

  • Comment removed

  • I am not a fan of Joe Bonamasa. But I am a fan of that guitar. Its beautiful.

  • 5 dislikes? are you for real? how can you dislike this?

  • @telegsa015 because many people these days feed on the mass feed music crap like sheep with no ear for real talent .

  • @jimischild13 so true!

  • Joe, I want you! You are the best for my Duo project! peace&paradise :-)))

  • 240p we meet again,...still good tho,..just getting into Joe,..love his style and hes a big Kossoff fan too so thats enough for me.

  • he is cooler with gibson 8-ı

  • jimmy page my ass!

  • @ChrisTrabantProject yeah, he's a long way from Page ;)

  • @louisalive ..he has surpassed Page,,by a long way..

  • @brymacbluesband because he can play faster, or he's more musical?... He's brilliant, but he aint Page... for instance, Hendrix.. or Greg Howe, there's only one answer

  • @louisalive ..and whats the answer..or havent you got one..its not about how fast you play..its how you play ..and Joe does that better than Page, Jimmy has had his day, he was in a class of a few guys, now he has fallen miles behind, and Greg Howe..come on give me a break..what the hell has he done to be mentioned with these guys....

  • @brymacbluesband Bonamassa hasn't written anything like jimmy page, he's just a more technically advanced guitar player, that's all, don't compare legends with virtuosos

  • @louisalive ..never said anything about Pages ability to write, just responded to you saying he is along way from him, as a player Joe has travelled miles past Jimmy...as a matter of fact..he might be a hard guy to catch up, with all the accolade that others guys are giving him, Like Leslie West said to him whilst jamming, how come you can play so fast and not miss a note..mm

  • @brymacbluesband speed has nothing to do with it, that's technical ability, not musicality, like I said, stop comparing modern virtuosos with legends

  • @louisalive ..oh get off your high horse..this was not about Joe and Jimmy, you made the comment..ok..watch this space..Joe has nothing to prove...Joe has the ability, musically and otherwise, feel, and can write..can play with anyone..and hold his own..LEGEND..well time will show that..

  • @brymacbluesband nah, i commented back to someone, you're the one who got involved... u've entered this "debate" so don't start pointing the "u started this" finger... (sign that you're losing said debate). That's the point, Joe isn't trying to be better than Jimmy Page, Zeppelin were a freak of nature, Joe is a brilliant solo artist/guitarist, but he hasn't re-defined rock n roll quite yet, so lets not start comparing him to one of the most innovative musicians there will ever be... end of.

  • @louisalive ..am not losing anything..oh I see the "quite yet thing"..I think Joe will be bigger than Page, and cleaner..watch this space..continuation in progress....remember all Page did was reintroduce original stuff and arrange it..or stole it if the shoe fits....Innovative..no..Hendrix was, Clapton was, Green was, Beck Was..Page..mmm am thinking..violin, done before, twin guitar, done before..mm still thinking..even tho I admire Jimmy..as one of the 4 or 5 guitar players..Innovative.mm

  • @brymacbluesband You're really desperate to prove your point aren't you? haha. Stubborn, like myself... which is ok. I really don't think you can imply that Page wasn't innovative, I'd agree that he stole melodies ect... but from a production point of view, he basically produced most of the zeppelin stuff... it's completely of it's own. Jimmy is just a hero, I'm adverse to comparing those kinda players with modern virtuosos purely because "without them, we'd be nothing" yeah yeah...

  • @louisalive ..ok..I stand down..we are alike in this somewhat..shake hands..lol

  • @Julien1345 Hendrix rip-off comment! 'The Blues is easy to play, but hard to feel'

  • What song he playing.com

  • Great video! Audio as well! Well done!

  • @Oldfart4751

Stevie ray Vaughn is without a doubt. A god amongst men. But I've said this before to people who go comparing great players to SRV you just can't compare anyone to a legend like Stevie. Joe is probably not as legendary but they're both different styles in blues. And Bonamassa is probably the best blues player of my generation. Just as Stevie was in the 80's I love them both. And Stevie was probably a better performer but Joe is a king in the style of modern blues music.

  • love it! looks like he got a lemon in his mouth heheh

  • His string-bend vibratos are amazing!

  • @Julien1345 clichés are clichés because they work !

  • Listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan, he set the standard that nobody else can equal!

  • @oldfart4751 me thinks Stevie set a standard that has been reached my friend...remember..a man called Clapton..that was said about him..and ..the rest is history..music moves on..and so does the heights..

  • @brymacbluesband Well my friend we are all entitled to our opinion, JB is a very good technical player, but for raw emotion I am sticking with SRV.

  • @oldfart4751 ..I respect that...but I think Joe has enough raw emotion..as well...

  • @oldfart4751 ..I can somewhat agree with you there, but for enev more raw emotion, there is Rory Gallagher..now thats emotion..without the ype

  • @oldfart4751 ..I can somewhat agree with you there, but for even more raw emotion, there is Rory Gallagher..now thats emotion..

  • @brymacbluesband Clapton=overrated. Good feel, not a truly great technical guitarist.

  • @SNIIP3RTHEVIP3R Birmingham UK

  • That's a marshall jubilee for you :)

  • Blues IS actually a cliche, however within that cliche one can manipulate it to make things a little more interesting. I agree with punkmusicmetal that this example of his playing is one dimentional. Blues is not so much about scales and notes as feeling anyway. JB is not a GREAT blues man like BB. BB shows what value can be obtained from a single note!

Joe is a sucker for the orgasm not the foreplay. I think he's a developing Bluesman.

  • @Barefoot67.Vinnie moore kicks ALL ass. Joe is great for what hes doing.

  • @Julien1345 0:18 When he slides up the neck of the guitar to do the fill. You can hear the difference in the pentatonic and the blues scales. There are an extra few notes in the blues scale that are not in the pentatonic scale. Although, if you didn't know that beforehand - it would be easy to mistake the two.

  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd kicks this guys ass

  • @Barefoot67 *correction* Nobody kicks this guys ass

  • What song is he supposed to playing

  • Blues has never been about fuckin demonstration . : (

  • @naxi55500555 He doesn't use spacing that well. He's just playing continously with no real pauses. Thats not a solo, where's the tension, and journey?

  • @naxi55500555 what rock have you been hiding under

  • @Julien1345 Pentatonic. Don't know why I said platonic. But anyway, those are some good ideas to add variety.

  • @Julien1345 Hey, you can't go wrong with the Platonic, dude.

  • This is so badass!

  • This is the biggest master for me ;)

    I love him :D

  • this is fucking amazing

  • @Julien1345 I totally agree. U can learn a song note for note but u will never really play the blues unless you really put some heart and soul and feeling into it.

  • hey guys, thanks so much for your support. Please go to the Official Joe Bonamassa YouTube Channel and subscribe!

  • @Julien1345 haha if you liked this type in Michael Sutherland guitar solo, its this kid playing some insane blues

  • fucking guitar monster!!!

  • what song is this?

  • @Julien1345

It's because with blues, you're not really playing notes, you're singing them with your guitar. at least, i think that's how it's supposed to work. The notes being played may be based on a scale but it makes no difference, as it's all about the notes coming from the heart.

that's my take on blues at least. there are endless amounts of creative solos and ideas (especially on electric guitar), but when it comes to blues, I compare it most to singing.

  • Saw this live back in '08 awesome gig......rest of birmingham sucked tho!

  • Now there's a guy who actually knows how to fucking solo.

  • I love Joe so much. Perfect combo of genius guitar talent from a young age + equal parts humility + equil part of a great singing voice and finally.....the blessing of a blues god BB King. Bonamassa will be a King in a few years and EVERYONE will know about him. But those of you who have followed him......We knew all along didn't we!

  • Very tasty! I love it!

  • Can anybody tab that lick he always plays @ 0:28??

  • @marshallstakkk dude if you can play any given 3 seconds of this solo you dont need tabs for 0:28.

  • @brianwurst1234 well guess what, i cant quite figure out that lick, so that is why i asked.

  • He looks cool

  • I WAS THERE!!!

  • NOOOO way this guy is better than Vinnie Moore

  • @JUSTINTRIPjl completely different styles dude.

  • All great guitarists find the balance between speed and soul!!

  • The greatest blues master of our century. Infused with endless licks this master of blues rock is.

  • @littlekinger101 you realize that most blues is variations of the pentatonic scale, right? i mean, look at hendrix.

  • haha yeah but just thought someone with this much talent would experiment mor with some different scaless

  • You would'nt really stick modes in over a 12 bar though dude, lol

  • @ScageyGuitarist

Not all of em, but some sound downright tasty.

  • I think he knows a whole lot of them...he studied classical guitar for awhile so he knows many of his scales, and if you check out like the rockapalast show he shows off some of his skill. I realize you didn't mean to diss but those six guys just see but does he and automatically assumes you're trying to be a dick.

  • wow, my comment was actually deleted, aren't we a bit sensitive? Well, not all blues is boring, I like Kenny Wayne Shepherd a lot, Jimi Hendrix and others, it's just so restricting, the song structure and the scales. That's what I meant, In step fx is one of my favorite records so I guess I didnt express what I meant very well

  • the blues boring? are yo really from the earth? listen Robben Ford and tell me if you believe that yet, my god!!

  • @mbelectronica Danny Gatton QWTF?????

  • @Barefoot67 "The Blues", before someone's actually -playing- it, has no sound. Each player must put himself into the music. It's the opposite of restricting: It's virtually one big open space, to fill as you choose. If a player's not competent, energetic, dynamic, sensitive, sincere, original, or creative, -his- blues will be boring. There's no boring style of music, only boring performances.

  • @lazur1 sure i agree with that, and I do like some blues like Kenny Wayne Shepher and a lot of SRV. However, the blues in this clip to me is incredibly boring, just mindless blues shred that we've heard a billion times before, same runs etc

  • @Barefoot67

I've never heard ANYONE play like Joe....he may steal some licks from other guitarists but he makes them his own

  • @Barefoot67 Agreed Barefoot, there is something about this guy I don't like. I can't figure it out really. Some stuff is great but for the most part...eh I don't know, he's meh to me.

  • @TheEarthBlues2 haha if you liked this type in Michael Sutherland guitar solo, its this kid playing some insane blues

  • @lazur1 haha if you liked this type in Michael Sutherland guitar solo, its this kid playing some insane blues

  • Blues Boring barefoot67! you got no soul, feel the passion man, listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan and tell me he's boring, the best Blues player to walk the Earth. He's doing the great gig in the sky now, R I P Stevie.

  • @oldfart4751

I agree completely, Stevie was absolutely amazing! Wish I could have seen him live!

Joe Bonamassa is one of the people carrying on in similiar spirit. Saw him live tonight in Rotherham, UK, he exceeded my expectations! Bril!

  • @oldfart4751 SRV was not the best blues player, Duane Allman was

  • @brucefan181 In your opinion friend! that's what is great about music it's personal taste, technically Duane Allman is a good Guitarist but he don't rock my boat. When I listen to Stevie Ray Vaughan the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end, the feel and passion for the blues just oozes out of him.

  • @oldfart4751 Do you literally believe that's what heaven's like?

  • Blues is about emotion, not the same pentatonic lick played over and over. It's how you phrase that lick that makes it work.

  • @Barefoot67 but Kenny Wayne Shepherd sounds just like Hendrix. Whats that but licks from generation to generation?

  • @shaunbdouglass i don't agree, If you listen to his IMO best album Trouble is, he's definitely got his own lead style and sound. He owes a lot to Hendrix sure, but so does every blues player. KWS has got a much more distinct sound than Bonamassa and cooler, more soulful IMO

  • @shaunbdouglass I don't agree. KWS has got a much more distinct and unique soloing style compared to Bonamassa. Listen to Trouble Is, it's brillant playing.

  • @Barefoot67

Don't agree, i know this comparison is used a lot but i firmly believe its true that he sounds too much like SRV a lot of the time

  • That's it right there!

  • i think hes up there with the best

  • Was at this gig and the one in dublin the year before this...he is amazing...

  • Saw him earlier this week at Jools Holland at the bbc and he was utterly superb

  • I've seen Joe once and am travelling from Ireland to see him in Germany in May. I always wonder whether I prefer the Nimmo Brothers to Joe (I think they have similar styles)-I think the Nimmos are more blues, but I really do love Joe B.!! I can't wait to see him live again.

  • Just as you thought he couldnt get more awesome... :p

  • I was there :), the skinny Tall bloke blockin everyones view probably XD. Brilliant concert. See you all at Albert Hall =D

  • thanks for the video.....can't wait till march when he's back in new jersey...so if he's playing royal albert hall....does that mean he can play carnegie hall?? sure hope so!!!!!

  • He would sell out Carnegie Hall no problem !Only thing now that he is starting to play huge halls does this mean the end of the small much more in your face gigs ?

  • Poor Joe, he tells us his hands are working but the voice is like Tom Waits! Get well soon Joe, see you on monday :)

  • Awesome concert made up for the long wait outside

  • Your'e lucky his Manchester gig 9th was cancelled due to illness, rescheduled for the 17th

  • Yes I was just reading that on his website,he has the flu, will be worth the wait though as his gigs are awesome.Tickets for the Albert Hall show go on sale end of the month.....my Xmas pressie request lol
