Longley played well for Chicago and outplayed Mourning. I do think, though, that Mourning's shot blocking was an advantage for Miami but they weren't able to win because their SG/SF players were far too unathletic, and Mashburn was not used nearly enough as the go-to post player.
Longley was the 4th option offensively and didn't play as many minutes as Mourning. No excuse for Mourning getting outsocred by Longley in the deciding game, seeing as how Mourning was the go-to guy for the Heat.

Drexler won a title when he played alongside a great shotblocker, Hakeem Olajuwon.
Magic won when he had Kareem on his team, lost to Chicago without him.
I agree some players are better scorers than defenders.
However, you're either lying or your wrong about Chicago. Longley averaged over 1 block er game in his 3 championship seasons in UNDER 30 MINUTES.
Also, Pippen and Jordan averaged close to 1 block each, more than Barkley or Malone according to you. And they aren't bigs.

in 33.7 career mpg and 13.2 FGA per game, juwan's stats are only marginally better, and are sometimes worse. If Stromile is so much worse, he wouldn't be beating or so close to Juwan in so many categories.

That yr was when he started to decline with Orlando. The injury bug bit them some that yr as well. I remember that. Tons of people in their primes missed the playoffs sometimes, doesnt mean they suck. Chris Paul for example. He never suck in a Hornets uniform, finally makes the playoffs this yr. Elton Brand never sucked, he in his prime before injury, wasnt in playoffs for a while either. Im sure their r more to name, but that is how it is sometimes. But Im out, be safe bro.

In all his minutes per game, Juwan's career blocks per game average is the same as an overweight Shawn Kemp, in half as many minutes. Check out Kemps career stats on basketball-reference.
Kemp was getting half as many minutes as Juwan and still blocking way more shots.

the year Juwan started over Stromile Swift in Houston the Rockets didn't make the playoffs.... There wasn't a single highlight in this vid of Juwan playing "solid defense."

No disrespect bro, but it's not like Juwan never made the playoff as a starter. He has done that in his career as well as been an all-star. Some Stromile Swift hasnt done in his career(become an all-star).

Stromile Swift hasn't even been given the opportunity of being a starter.
Juwan has been a starter on the team with the worst record in the NBA more than once, something Stromile Swift has never done in his career.
Juwan getting as much hype as he has gotten is a tribute to cultural bias and incompetence among coaches.

Juwan is a proven starter unlike Swift who is very inconsistent. Swift was compared to Rasheed Wallace and we see how that comparsion went my friend. Juwan, dont get me wrong, isnt worth that huge 100 million dollar contract he got, but he was a proven starter IMO earlier in his career.

The only thing proven about Juwan is that he stinks defensively and is not aggressive offensively and relies on a repertoire of boring and soft offensive shots.
A comparison between Swift and Wallace is off base, Swift is a creator and slasher offensively whereas Wallace is a back to the basket player.

Swift is not a great player by any means bro. We are talking about 8 point career avg with Swift. Coming into the NBA they thought he was like Wallace, but he isnt even close. Juwan is way better player than Swift. I would take Juwan any day over Swift. If anybody gm is boring it has to be Swift to me. Not a great player AT ALL.

Well whoever "they" is, they were wrong, and their incompetence should show you that "they" are not experts when it comes to basketball because Swift and Wallace are very different players.
Juwan never improved his game since coming into the league, yet he has always had a silver spoon in his mouth. His career average of 0.3 blocks is absolutely embarrassing considering he has a career average of over 30 minutes per game and was averaging 40 mpg at one point.

Juwan joined Tracy McGrady's Magic that were a playoff team with Shawn Kemp, and they had the worst record in the NBA with Juwan on the team.
Overweight Shawn Kemp > Juwan in his prime.

Well, the experts was wrong, Im saying they had high expectations of Swift is my point. N Swift is trash compared to Juwan. Overwieght Kemp is trash compare to a prime Juwan. That is ur opinion tho. But give me Juwan over over weight Kemp and Swift. Thats it for me, im out.
