  • I'm interested in getting a job in hvac but I'm wondering how hard is it to learn all this stuff?

  • hi,my heater do not work because the burners do not light on so i turn it off but sometimes after 10 hours of being turn off i turn the thermostat on and it will go on for about half hour what can i do

  • Please wht a primative system!!

  • Very good video ...

  • in this video a few steps in the sequence of operations is skipped

    1. a call for heat

    2. inducer motor starts

    3. vacuum switch proves inducer motor

4 igniter lights up/ simultaneously 24 v is sent to the gas valve and releases gas and furnace lights.

    5. flame rod proves flame to the board

    6. t'stat is satisfied/ blower runs as timed and cuts off.

thats all you need to know to diagnose a furnace -- your welcome

  • lol gay vid, 120 volts? t-stat sends 24 volt signal to R and W furnaces run off 24 signals. this guy has no idea has a furnace works

  • Do you mean you have a evap coil installed inline with your furnace? If you let an evap coil get dirty it can greatly lower your air flow and you should clean it. you can prevent it from getting dirty by using a good air filter and changing it monthly. You can clean your coil but i recomend having a professional do it. it is difficult and you don't have the access to the proper chemicals. These chemicals are contractor only items.

  • my furnace is AC ready but has no AC hooked up to it. my repair guy said i have to clean that part too. how do i do that?

  • The furnace will start but heat will not go through the vent. It just offs. It is a gas furnace it is original to the house that was built in 1988. What is the problem?

  • @cherishmeforever14 if it keeps cycling on then shutting off its probably a flame sensor. There are plenty of videos that explain how to clean them etc. If the inducer comes on you hear a fan but nothing else then you may have an open limit switch condition.

  • @jpdaddygid Thank you

  • This is a very helpful video. I have been trying to find information about a furnace for weeks to no avail. Thank you very much. Might I suggest another video, one that covers regular maintenance. For example, my Blower is making a fair bit of noise, I understand they require regular greasing, but Im unsure how or what to grease. Is it a closed bearing, is their a grease nipple I cant see? Another video encompassing some of these aspects would be very helpful.

  • Why is the temperture of the air from my furnace not as hot?

  • hello! my inducer motor turns on but turns off again within few seconds and it just repeats. help please!

  • thank you sir I checked the sensor and that is what it was thanks for your help.

  • Great Video!!! Thanks

  • when i set the target temp the furnace comes on and begins the warm up stage. then after a minute or so the furnace begins to light but when it starts to flame it only stays on for like 5 seconds then shuts off. then 5 minutes later it flames again for 5 seconds then shuts off. it does this for about 8 minutes then shuts down the whole system...... What could be wrong????

  • @jasonlg333 I would say that you have a bad or dirty flame sensor.

  • @jasonlg333 As fiveseven76 commented you have a dirty temp/flame sensor. Same thing happened to my coworker and all i had to do is clean the sensor with a steel wool. Make sure you disconnect the unit first. After i cleaned it and installed it back it worked great. It saved my coworker 70 bucks for the troubleshooting.

  • would u upload a video explaining functions of different safety switches on the furnace, how to ake apart furnaces. and also on the hydraunice heating system,.ur videos is very helpful for me since iam taking gas technicina program rite now. thanks

  • Thanks a Lot John!

    Very Professsional....

Has the water been leaking when the air conditioner is in operation?

  • My furnace is leaking water, this just started what could it be and is this something my husband can repair u think? What are some at home troubleshooting suggestions to track the leakage. Right now we only see it at the bottom of the furnace and its leaking down on my ceiling

  • @constanceadams1

The furnace can leak if it is in Heat if it is a 90% furnace. The tube comes off below the inducer draft motor. If your unit is in AC mode and it is leaking then it is due to condensation. The most common cause is a plugged condensation line wich is usually PVC (white) you can flush it from the furnace area through the pipe with compressed air.

  • @constanceadams1 depends on what type of furnace it is it might be the flue pipe or something of the sort

  • @constanceadams1 well...you posted this a while ago, but to make things sort, im not an expert, but i am currently in a HVAC class, and from the sounds of it. your flue gases are condensating. and determine on what kind of furnce efficiency it could be good, or bad. but i dont have a clue, do you know the efficiency of your furnace?

  • You forgot, the inducer motor also creates a pull on the gas to pull it through the heat exchange

  • thanks a lot!! now I have understood better how a gas furnace works

  • Wow I'm sitting in a cold house with a 2 week old york furnace.

    Ottawa Canada. - 11 c

I will never buy another york product

I have been calling my heating contractor no answer, thats a funny thing from a company who claims 24 hour service.

I hate being lied to and ripped off.

  • I'm in Ottawa as well. What company did the install?Sometimes new furnaces have defective parts. I've installed a new Keeprite once and 3 weeks later the board was defective.Although I was there the very next day :)

  • good vid. I have a probkem with my furnace that this video didnt cover though. The unit works fine but it makes a loud chugging noise almost like a train when it kicks in. I thought it was the belt but it looks fine, ive also read that it may need to be lubricated or bearings need to be replaced. If anyone has any ideas, post and let me know.

  • what kind of unit is it?

    brand?

    model number?

    serial number? how old?

    does it have a belt?

  • It is a Lennox natural gas furnace.

    Model #-G8-90-1

    Serial #-6377A35598

It has a belt, but i dont know how old it is

  • i was unlucky to find a diagram of this furnace on the internet. However, i do know that this is an older Lennox. Besides the noise, you should have the heatexchanger inspected by a professional. Your gas company is normally qualified to do so but sometimes has had a good training course. You could have a routine maintenance done for a small fee. Just make sure they do visual heatexchanger inspections and that they provide a carbonmonoxide test. They will also tell you about the noise.

  • squirrel cage?? is the shaft on the motor warped... hmm... i would need to see the model... yet, i cant find it on there website. must be older. and you got to put in a request for the literature. thats gay. hmm... does the nose stop after after a few seconds on start up??

  • very good presentation. Super detailed. thanks for putting this together

  • I just had a bad snow storm that dumped 17.5 inches of snow in the area and the pipes/chimney were plugged on the roof for the furnace from the snow so i had to wait for the snow to melt and it worked, I was getting the LED status error code 31 because of the plugged pipe for the inducer I believe.

  • I need help my ignitor is not getting voltage to it,I checked the 3 terminals on the pressure switch with the thermostat calling for heat :1st I disconnected the rubber pressure hose from the fan-end & just left it hanging, I had voltage on 2 of the 3 leads on the pressure switch, nothing on the 3rd lead.2nd test, I reconnected the end of the rubber tube to its place (where it should be)I got the exact same result: voltage on 2 of the 3 leads on the pressure switch...nothing on the 3rd lead.

  • that's one of the best presentations i've seen for a furnace!! Good job!!!

  • very helpful, thank you

  • Great job!! Thank you.:)

  • excellent presentation, good detail, knows how to teach

  • nice vid more please.

  • good job
