How to wire a GY6 scooter regulator / rectifier and how it all works (Part 1)

I have a LB50QT-6 and I have pulled out the 50cc engine out and replaced it with a new gy6 150cc. Now the problem is the engine will turn over but no spark. I took a power wire from starter to coil and the plug will spark once so that tells me the coil is good. When I turn engine over I have no headlights but useing same power wire touch yellow and white wire I get power to light so what the hell am I missing lol. Jasonsnakes@yahoo.com

Should I look to my stator or regulator/rectifier to replace since I have to charge my battery every month... I get 12.8V at the battery when scooter if off, but only 12.5V at idle. Don't know where to turn.

i have a question... with the aftermarket intake you have... where do you run the hose that comes off the front of your crankcase that use to hook into the old airbox?

@mrsparks302010 I just run that hose to the ground, basically all that comes out of that hose is hot air and gasses off the top of the motor, the reason it's there in the first place is to satisfy some sort of eco friendly regulation (which is not enforced here).

strators and rectifiers can be a bitch to diagnos also cause they will run stop cool down run get hot stop you spend mucho money waste mucho time on we will try this and replace everything and then you find out its its a stupid box or the strator an auaintence of mine is having this trouble but he would rather waste a month with carb adjustments and we will try this his mechaneck is baffled or well you know making a mystery out of it

HELP! 1 yr old150cc GY6 scooter. Stopped one day, took to shop, Stator bad, replaced. Now, started popping all bulbs, headlights/tailamps,Instrument lights. Put in Battery,Voltage Regulator. Runs great, but now headlights do not work when engine is started,but light up(dimly) when Brakes are applied! WTF! Have put in 3 different RR's (Reg/Rectifiers) and they all three had different symptoms! I give up! I am 5 min's from just strapping on a C4 Demo charge, and blowing it in place! HELP!

hi i have a 50cc scooter that ran that is brand new but it stops running. I think the connections are messed up between the engine, the carburetor and the air filter. can u send me some diagram or photo. Thanks so much.

Mr. serpenteza..my battery is new & my regulator is functioning well..

why is my headlight.are burning/getting light out(bulb is already wasted)

by the time i switch on the light?

is there to much electricity coming through the bulbs?

what will i do to make my headlight from not coming flash out..

can you help me...and relay?what is the function of relay?

my scooter is a 4 stroke. gy6 engine.

@rjey16 Yes you're definately having an over-voltage issue, I'll try and make a video this week to explain the issue :)
