  • she wants that big austrailaian cock inside her

  • You can easily tell that this is a Vangelis track. Just listen to it.

  • This music was from an Old Style Beer commercial in the early 1980s

  • What happened to good movies like this? The amount of crap that passes for movies today is a shame.

  • she wants that astraulian dick in her british cunt

  • this is what god made women for and god made man for , the end

  • With the music score this is one of the most erotic love scenes in movie making. So suggestive and powerful.

  • This is the music (a tune he called 'LEnfant) chosen as the theme for Chariots of Fire and when you see the characters on the beach running this is the music they are running to, but at the last minute, Vangelis wrote ANOTHER masterpiece to use in that film. Watch the opening of Chariots of Fire without sound and play this at the same time - you'll see it fits nicely.

  • "A Vangelis track composed for the film, L'Enfant, also featured on his album Opera Sauvage."

  • This absolutely was in the film. And it's 'The' Year of Living Dangerously".

  • Whenever I hear this I think of the fainting kittens and cry a little.

  • EPIC Greatness.

  • It's VANGELIS = King of simple yet powerful and memorable melodies.

  • One of the most emotional films i have ever seen. this was back when films were great....Sigourney Weaver and Monsr Gibson were excellent in this

  • dam it, im from indonesia and i dont know about this movie till know, my fuckn goverment is shit ,try to scare us with some communist ghost!! , btw this is good movie, i mean, the set, how they talk 98% like a real us, except for steering wheel, in that picture in the left, the real is on the right,

  • Know the original name of the song? I would have it, I love this song

  • @bertillo91

L'Enfant by Vangelis and available on albums like his Best Of...

  • c'est bien ce qui me semblait; ce n'est pas vangelis qui a composer cette musique, mais MAURICE JARRE

  • @DogDevilman

Please do your research before you make claims. Maurice Jarre did the score, but this scene, music was composed by Vangelis. It's from his L'Opera Sauvage (L'enfant)

  • @Mayalla Effectively I made a mistake.

It is good a music consisted by Vangelis.

    Excuse I

  • @Mayalla But why does your description state it's not on the OST? (do you mean original sound track?). Of course it is most definitely on the original sound track, original print, original release. It's in the film. Please correct your description.

  • @humbleradio It's not on the commercially released soundtrack. If you buy a CD that says "Year of Living Dangerously" you will not find this song on it. Supposedly the director added Vangelis' song at the last minute, and that is why it is not credited in the film and does not appear on the soundtrack.

  • @ChristiaanVDA Commercially released soundtracks are often quite different than the actual soundtrack. Sometimes songs are added that were not in the film yet are on the 'commercial soundtrack' such as on "The Big Chill" and other albums. Also, the reverse is true, where songs in the film are not released on the commercial soundtrack album. In both cases it usually has to do with rights. Vangelis chose not to have it released on another album. Same with his "Blade Runner" score (he finally did).

    j'arrive a déchifrer ton français

tu est fan de musique classique et d'opéra

  • WTF you dunno who composed this?NOT MAURICE JARRE,VANGELIS!!!WRITE VANGELIS,title of the track "L ENFANT" and you will find it.If you still not believe us,go to some Vangelis site and see his albums. Then, select "Opera Sauvage" and you will find it on this album.

  • Forget, Alien and Avatar, this is the movie I will always remember Sigourney Weaver.

  • this music is so passionate and haunting at the same time.. moves right through

i think sigourney weaver was an incredibly beautiful woman. in this movie ...

  • getting all i couldn't do today

  • @ssgoder Please give a line of connection to Petra from Europe (you may choose the method, but it should be fast)!

  • I know Linda Hunt deserved the academy award, she was phenomenal.

But Ms Weaver nailed this scene. Perfectly directed. PERFECT music. Subtle but evident change in expression from Bembol Roco as he answers the door - he captured even that detail.

This is all about trust. I think this is my favorite scene from any movie.

  • @RAF71chingachgook

Ms. Weaver did a great job, but her follow up movies probably made her a lot of money, but they were definitely inferior to her performance in this movie.

An underrated movie, and an underrated performance.

  • j'adore....

  • Vangelis - L'enfant agh it's fucking stuck in my head....tune!

  • Vangelis - L'Enfant, Great film scene+song pairing

  • What is the matter with you people. The late great Maurice Jarre composed this.

  • @07drew70 No need to be rude. You are wrong. If you read the comments you will find out why. Thanks for playing.

  • @Mayalla

I bought the soundtrack specifically for this song. To my disappointment, it was not on the CD. Later I found out it was a Vangelis song.

  • @07drew70

I thought so too, for years. Jarre composed the movie's score, but this gorgeous theme is from Opéra Sauvage, is called l'Enfant and is by Vangelis.

Like so many pieces by Vangelis, this one helped to MAKE this film, helped it to resonate with the audience.

  • Nothing short of fabulous...

  • wonderful film of 1982 by peter weir! a love story (mel gibson and sigourney weaver) unfolding amidst the political chaos during sukarno's regime in 1965 indonesia. vangelis's score (l'enfant of opera sauvage) is haunting. for portraying the role of (male) billy kwan the great linda hunt won the academy award for best supporting actress. go for this movie!

  • lady gaga and all the other over made hooker looking entertainers, take note....a real woman that attracts real men.

  • She's hot.

  • Astounding movie. Depicting a threatening, but beckoning part of the world.

  • It is track number 3 from Opéra sauvage(a soundtrack for a nature documentary by the same name) by Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou or Vangelis as we all know him, this song should be way more popular then it is

  • Maurice Jarre please correct

  • @magarac02 wrong. The OST was done by Maurice but this track is by Vangelis from his Opera Sauvage. Vangelis' L'Enfant Please use the search function to find it right here on Youtube.

  • @Mayalla Any fan of Vangelis know whats tune it is like. Some people are just stubborn idiots huh...

  • @Mayalla You are confusing the terms 'score' with 'sound track'. Score is the music composed for a film. Sound track is any music, pop music, classical, and scored music that is USED in a film. This piece by Vangelis IS ON THE SOUND TRACK, but not scored for the film. See the difference? Don't be rude to people because they say it's Maurice Jarre. That's a common mistake since Jarre is the composer of the film score.

  • @magarac02 Vangelis composed it? It's off his Opera Sauvage album. Correct yourself.

  • this is one of those songs that you never forget

  • I love this movie... it reminds me of a particular year...

  • Vangelis' L'Enfant - Awesome

  • on my first tour in iraq we took fire in a open market. jumped into an apartment building for cover and while making our way to the roof i could hear this song being played from within one of the apartments. a lot of screaming and yelling and shooting incoming and out and all i could think of is where id heard this before. got home and after a bit of research i found it. id seen the movie as a kid but couldnt place the music when i heard it in iraq. ill never forget that day and this song.

  • @ssgoder Thank you for your powerful comment. Honoured!

  • @Mayalla I mean no disrespect, but pleaase leave us alone...LD/coda 461 Marblehead

    Nam

ssgoder we ain't leaving you behind... hang in there kid; 461 knows people

  • @ssgoder damn bro that is a very compelling & interesting story you experienced; I bet that theme has left an indelible impression on your psyche.

  • @ssgoder Holy sh*t, man. Helluva story.

  • @ssgoder That is a story the world should be able to hear.

  • @ssgoder Yawn. And then you rolled out of bed and remembered it was all a big dream.

  • @MrPutasemea nope. ive done 2 iraq tours and one a-stan. how come i cant visit your page? did you block me even before i could reply? what a pussy you are.

  • @ssgoder excellent description of what must have felt like a totally unreal event.

  • @ssgoder

That is an amazing story, ssgoder. Gave me the chills. I also thank you for sharing it with us.

  • @ssgoder Life is so bizzare I don't think I'm ever going to forget your comment.

  • @ssgoder do you like this song?

  • @ssgoder About as cool a story as they come. Thanks for serving.

  • Great, great cinema. You have to get both the original soundtrack (Jarre) and the Vangelis album to get all the music. It was not put together in one single collection.

  • @cesar1e1 Hi Cesare1e1 Yes, you are right that the main composer is Maurice Jarre of the soundtrack except for this track. It is from Vangelis' Opera Sauvage and is called L'Enfant. This track, although really in the movie, was not added to the Official Soundtrack and Vangelis never really got the credit for it as far as I know.

  • @cesar1e1 If you look at v=3kRS4pkrBqE (use to replace the last bit on this URL) you can see the proof. :)

  • @cesar1e1 its definitly vangelis and its not very hard to find out either it evan sounds like vangelis , maurice jarre's music is completely different

  • I didn't care much for the movie, but the music and this particular scene, I thought, were brilliant. I taped and kept the movie years ago, just for this scene.

  • WHAT A POWERFUL CINEMATIC MOMENT!!

The country is on the verge of civil war and she only wants to go be with the man she's fallen in love with. POWERFUL!!!

Combining that with L'Enfant by Vangelis makes this an INCREDIBLE scene...a CLASSIC one actually! And how can one go wrong with using Vangelis anyway?

I was SO blown away when I saw this for the first time not long ago. WHAT A SCENE!!

  • @seekingsnavely she realized it was all falling apart... love this movie.

lu kagak tasu ape ape tt bahasa kite jangan

    hina org betokaw !

    ente mo pendekin hiduplu biangkerok

  • the scene needed no words....

  • This piece was nearly used as the opening music for "Chariots Of Fire", until Vangelis wrote "Themes" at the last moment.

  • This is such a beautiful movie

  • Just say NO to Western sensualism.

  • No to cheese, even if it's bleu!

  • Had a previous version of this song as one of my favorites, then it got pulled. Glad it's back: so simple and beautiful.

  • I love it too and find it sexy

  • This scene has to be one of the hottest, sexiest scenes in a film. Shows nothing, but says it all.

  • Love this piece of tune!

    Matches perfectly to the movie.

  • hypnotic

  • i can play this on keyboard :D awesome song :D

  • Great song from one of my all time fav movies.

  • Haunting song from a brilliant movie. Peter Weir at his finest. Perfect unison of music and celluloid merged. Sigorney looks great in the rain, the driving beat throughout the scene, watching her discover that with all of the chaos around her and how hopeless it all seems, she is able to find sanctuary with Mel Gibson's embrace and kiss. Very poignant and romantic scene. I own both the soundtrack album and several of Vangelis's works. He was highly underated for his ability and talent.

  • Yeah I couldn't agree more...this song haunts me even to this day..like a gateway to the past of things that are lost forever... like time..memories..sad like a reflection..

  • You got that right ! bravo

  • too late for the french foreign legion

    joining doctors without borders

  • I remember that song on Chariots Of Fire too

  • totally different song, dude. Try again.

  • thank you for post! same great music happens in film when they do car get-away - most romantic scene in all movies ever I think! - more even than this scene!) - who has it? where?

  • What a great scene!

  • thank you so much for posting this piece of music. i had purchased the soundtrack years ago only to find this important piece was missing.

  • Yes, I remember that, too. Wasn't that the craziest thing ever...

  • Me too--took me the longest time to find it. Had to write to an advert agency that had used the theme in a commercial. Still a great soundtrack by Maurice Jarre.

  • When I hear this soundtrack it reminds me of a portal of sorts. Like a window to the past...past loves, events -- things lost forever. Very erie. But very beautiful. You don't want to listen, but at same time you do.

  • This movie made my heart melt:) And the music's amazing...

  • can't agree more

    genius direction, acting and music!

  • a terrific track...

    and a great film..

  • does anyone have this track??

  • l`enfant vangelis

  • does anyone have this track??

Yes I have it, uncut and on my computer

  • the most touching movie i ever seen

  • Sorry, Elizabeth, I gave the incorrect impression. The Year of Living Dangerously takes place not in Cambodia 1975 but in Indonesia, in 1965. My overhasty writing gave the wrong impression.

And, in a selective memory, the West remembers the Pol Pot massacres but not the massacres of Communists and left-wingers in 1965.

The Laurens van der Post novel is not about love but about the personal and the political.

  • Sorry, I miswrote (is that even a word?), too. I knew the movie is set in Indonesia because that's where Sukarno was.

I was referring only to the movie. I think it's a romance, not a political movie. The advance knowledge that comes between the lovers could have been that of enemy troop movement or weapons development had the movie been set in WWII. It is how that knowledge affects their relationship that's the core of the movie, I think.

  • As a movie it can be watched and enjoyed apolitically by a person unaware of what happened. However, the book by Laurens van der Post was political.

Peter Weir, here and in Gallipoli, tries to integrate the person into a larger social context. Here, it is Indonesia 1965: in Gallipoli, the slaughter of Australian men in WWI.

It's a political romance, then, like Casablanca. In fact, the ending quotes Casablanca, being set at an airport.

  • Though I haven'r read the novel, I can't watch the movie without being keenly aware of the political situation. The most poignant part of it for me was Billy Kwan unfurling his banner.

  • This movie is about the moral compromises of the Cold War. It was years before I could make myself sit through it, because it was so painfully similar to my experiences in Vietnam. Not that I had any love affairs over there, oh no.

  • This film is about betrayal on a personal and political level. It is set in a time right before Vietnam would become the world's focus. Southeast Asia was a powder keg.

  • The film turns on the idea that IF Mel Gibson stays in Jakarta he will be killed. In actuality, his assistants are in far greater danger, while Western journalists were unharmed in the Khmer Rouge takeover of Cambodia.

    Orientalist.

  • No, this film turns on the idea that Mel Gibson has to make a choice between his career and his love. The political upheaval in Cambodia is there only to provide an element of conflict and an exciting backdrop, exactly what I'd expect to find in a wartime romance since those are, in fact, the two chief components of the genre.

  • I love this movie. The music rocks although the best kissing scene with this music is played while they are making out after leaving the party! The scence rocks. Thanks for posting.

  • The composer is Maurice Jarre AND NOT vangelis!

  • wrong.. the composer is vangelis

  • The composer is definitely Vangelis and was wonderful. I only bought the soundtrack of the film for this track, to find that it wasnt on it and so I had to buy Opera Sauvage where it is. Still cant believe recording company did that, so stupid, IMO and disappointing.

  • Don't listen to her, UK kills animals!

  • Hey termi, what's happened?

  • Yeah, I know how you feel. I was so ticked off I nearly tossed the alumn out the window.

  • It is Vangelis. I used to have the soundtrack.

  • Comment removed

  • @chrissieTheChris Get your facts straight, the composer is Vangelis and NOT Maurice Jarre!

The name of the track is L'enfant, from Vangelis' 1979 album, Opera Sauvage!

  • This is the pefect theme fo this film - throbbing and sultry and strange. Love it. You can feel the sweaty, heavy tropical weather.

  • So I'm not the only one who sweated her way through this?

"Throbbing and sultry and strange" is just about perfect.

  • Hey. You might like the movie "Indochine" - it's French, set in what is now Vietnam and is a bit like A Year of Living Dangerously. Music's not as good though...

  • Saw Indochine, loved it.

And how about The Scent of Green Papaya? Not much story or plot but also set in Viet Nam, I think; visually exquisite and with Western classical music.

  • Play it at Xmas, at night, with the tree lights on. It works then too!

  • Truly excellent music. Beguiling.

  • true, You may be right.

  • IthinkI implicated "intentions" as a puentaDo YouThinkThatMelWouldBe happy never trying to use information from Siguery , bothHad lesson to do (Billy Loved her). Mel was very idealistic the truth as a value itself was very important to him he deceived her somehow for this value, Billy didn't care about the truth case he cared only about her in this moment.focusing on one thing we rally desire can harm in some way (how do You know they did what they really desired?)anyway i also belive they did;)

  • I know that that type of answer may not satisfy You, Mel Gibsons assistant wouldn/t be satisfied for sure ;) because it is a bit naive but still beautiful

  • there Is Strongly Said In This movie that the most important thing is our intentions. Like in this dramatic moment when the Mel Gibson's assistant asking "am I stupid"

without moralizing (that we can do whatever we want thru hard work(capitalism) or we can be civilization of love;) socialism) describing situation that everything even the best ideology might be derailed cause of our intentions.

  • but those are rhetoric already:)

  • vangelis is the best greek musician

  • I so much love this beautiful melody

    thanks for upload

  • Thank you very much for posting this clip. Awesome

  • Weaver at her most attractive....until Galaxy Quest.

    Beguiling music.

  • i like this movie because it bring us a lot of answers

  • So 1980's ..takes you back

  • Great music. Vangelis at his very best

  • Loved this movie + score,

+ such a damn HOT woman she is

  • Sigourney Weaver was damn hot

  • Have never seen this film properly as only ever seen this part as love this piece of music! Superb track!
